    I was at Thomann Saturday und played some of his fanfret 7 string. I felt in love with this guitar. They got no in stock with delivery times from 6 to 8 weeks so i managed to buy the test guitar they got 😅.
    The neck feels really awesome and it sounds really great at home on my setup. The only thing i needed to do was sanding the sharp edge of the nut at the high E string.
    It was setup really great(maybe because it was their test guitar)
    I just need to polish the freets some day, bending is easy but i want them to shine 😅
    I really recommend this guitar , especially for this insane price

      Is it the QEB (or the blackburst version of that same guitar)? I'm using one of my downtuned 7's as an 8 basically but seriously considering pulling the trigger, seems like the best value to try the real thing

    Excelente demo... Perhaps more clean tones and other type of chords will open the mind for other audiences ❤

      Thanks ! I write my demos according to my inspiration, so sometimes there are more clean chords, sometimes there's no clean part at all, sometimes chords are different... Anyway there always is a Guitar Alone part so everybody can listen to how the guitars sounds clean and dirty :)

      @@ToroKchannel mine turned up a week ago, it plays really nice, but the pickups in mine are so very noisy. looking for drop in replacements atm. I measured the stock pickups at 89x37mm same as you so the hunt is on. E was looking for emg 60-7x ( impossible to find in UK and EU paired with a 81-7x, but may go for fluences,

    • @ToroKchannel
      @ToroKchannel  Год назад

      @@lpjmodels the 60-7 is very hard to find pretty much everywhere :) I think I would be unable ton find it in the EU. The 707 could ba a good alternative if you don't want the 85-7. If you go for Fishman Fluences, remember they are way more complicated to install than EMG. No solderless system, so you might need the help of a luthier - and he won"'t do it for free ! :)

    • @lpjmodels

      @@ToroKchannel Its a shame about the 60, I just wanted a different flavour to everyone else with a 81-85 or 81-707. I'm pretty good with fine work, most of my day to day stuff is miniature based (scale models, see channel if interested lol) and I have soldered in the past for various upgrades and such so while its a little more daunting if I take my time I think ill be ok. I know there are several options also with the FMS, so ill have to check and choose what I want carefully. do you have any opinions on Fluence Moderns VS EMGS? RUclips compression makes it very hard to tell.
      thanks for the videos, these have been a great resource when choosing this instrument. its a different kind of project after maining a Mayones for a while. Gonna get some locking tuners and a Graphtec nut too. already polished the frets down, they were a little scratchy, nothing major but enough for me to act on it.

      @@lpjmodels there's often somethng to do on a Benton, like oiling the fretboard, polishing the frets, checking the intonation up... But once the job is done you realize that the guitar is really good ! I have played some Fishman pickups only twice in my life, in guitar stores. I was never convinced with them. Last time, it was on a Schecter with a Blackstar amp and there was too much low end and not enough hi and mids. Someday, I will review a guitar that features those fishman ! It sounds like they've got the same tone as EMG 81 / 85, but thy're offering a so called passive voice that doesn't sound passive at all to me, just a bit more fat than the classic active voice. I really never understood why these pickups became so trendy. I remember MAtt Heafy saying ha had moved to Fishman cos' they don't need a 9V battery to work, you can recharge the battery with a USB cable (if you buy the accessory that allows this). And since he has moved to Fishman, I don't sense any change in his tone.

    Very cool guitar and the price is hot. I could imagine that I like the sloping frets. When I play standing up, I often hold the guitar at a very steep angle, i.e. body low and headstock up, that would basically compensate for the sloping frets, at least that's how I imagine it 😄 and I also love roasted maple. The pickups sound good and the color is amazing. So, I'm thinking about it........ damn I want that thing 🤩

    correction about the nut, it is a graphtech Nubone

    • @ToroKchannel
      @ToroKchannel  9 месяцев назад

      Nubone is mentioned on Harley Benton's website but not Graphtech ! Pretty sure it's not a graphtech nut, it would be specified for sure.

    • @MelloState
      @MelloState 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@ToroKchannel though who else makes nubone since I do believe it is a trademark of graphtech.

    • @ToroKchannel
      @ToroKchannel  9 месяцев назад

      when graphtech uses the word « Nubone » there alaways is a copyright sign. But maybe the copyright is for « Graphtech Nubone » and not for « nubone » only. In the other hand, each time harley benton uses a graph tech nut, they clearly mention it’s a graph tech nut. Now, after playing and reviewing this axe, it doesn’t look like a graph tech nut.

      @@ToroKchannel ah. Well either way a bit of a fix is a little graphite in the slots when stringing up. Though I do have a question, I did try a schecter demon 7 before but felt the neck was really large and uncomfortable, would you say this is easier or about the same to play?

    • @ToroKchannel
      @ToroKchannel  9 месяцев назад +1

      @@MelloStatethe neck seems a bit more narrow on this R-457. If you’re used to playing 7 strings it should work better for you.

    hi, when you say that the pick ups are loud you mean that they make sound when the guitar is plugged and not playing?
