  • In the biggest game of his life, 6'2 junior point guard Jalen Brunson showed why he's considered one of the top all around players in the nation vs #1 Chicago Whitney Young including the nation's #1 HS senior, Duke bound Jahlil Okafor. In the Illinois 4A semis in Peoria, Brunson put his Stevenson HS team on his back as his teammates combined to shoot 20% vs Young's great length (6'11 Okafor, 6'9 Paul White).
Jalen Brunson scored his team's last 21 points. Brunson shot 16-for-30, 7-14 from three and 17-for-23 from the free-throw line. He recorded 7 rebounds and 3 steals.
No player in state history has scored that many points in a single game in Illinois state tournament history.
Whitney Young won the game 75-68 and defeated Benet 46-44 for the title the next night. But fans in attendance will never forget Brunson's performance for the ages. Brunson left Carver Arena to a standing ovation.

that and how much of a baby cry he is...he gets frustrated easily, couldnt even look anyone in the eye at the end and sulked with the towel over his head but otherwise he played his heart out.

You act like you wouldn't be pissed if you score 50 plus pts and you still don't win , and it could have been his senior year man, people just expect athletes to always be perfect

TheGotgame lol, i dropped 85 against the Heat on 2k14 MyPlayer, got subbed out with 20 seconds left... we lost the game.. I almost broke my damn PS4 controller... so if thats a game then i know he had to been pissed in real life. They better hope he don't transfer somewhere cause I'm sure he blamed his team sadly

His father is Rick Brunson who's from my city (Syracuse) I think he was the MVP of the 1991 McDonald's All American game. His Pops played for the legendary coach Chaney at Temple with Eddie Jones and Aaron McKie and then played in the NBA for about 10 years. I think his father is currently an assistant coach with the Charlotte Bobcats.

He got great offensive skills, great pick and roll ability, excellent range, he will have to learn how to be more of a distributor at next level but he has the skills to be successful at the next level.

You also gotta think bro his teammates shot 20% from the floor so for them to have a chance he had to score, I've seen him play in AAU several times and when he has good talent around them he really does distribute and run the offense, reminds me of a lefty tony parker

lol! Might not have been that bad. I remember talking to my mom about a similar situation where a player got like 50+ points in a game, but can't remember. Then she mentioned to me how she watched Wilt Chamberlain all the time get the most points. 50+, 100 and so on. She said the funny thing was the actual TEAM was really good. They just kept giving him the ball I guess.
