It wasn't not unusual back then, I suspect downstairs was for smoking and upstairs non smoking

As the owner and driver of 1365, the lower deck seats are original Liverpool/Merseyside red and grey rexine but the top deck are obviously not. This blue version of MTL corporate seat covering that was usually red rexine or moquetter.
This blue version was used by Glenvale Transport (GTL) to replace vandalised seats in the ex Arriva Metrobuses that had blue interiors. I managed to get the remaining stock from Gillmoss and from the supplier in Salford.
As the upper deck seats on 1365 were in poor condition after being mistreated by the former dance troupe inmates, I thought the blue seat covering would look good in 1365.🐸
