To say that Babs looked out of her depth on Down Your Doorstep would be an understatement. She didn't seem to be enjoying the experience. She was constantly lost in her cue cards and distracted by her earpiece. Local kids gathering on the streets mucking about around her didn't seem to help the situation, and trying to run in heels was a problem which she refused to solve by wearing flats. I mean, god rest her soul and all, and also that of the great Keith Chegwin, but The Big Breakfast wasn't her natural environment. Somehow, Cheggers always made the job look easy.
