I tried this and thought it was great but....I just tried the unfiltered audio battalion (synth/sample drum machine vsti) today and that thing blew my mind
I've really been enjoying mangling drum sounds by adjusting the Timescale and the Frequency sliders. Do you guys know any other samplers that rely heavily on these features, rather than sequencers/lfo's? I've been messing with Amigo, but it sadly doesn't Time-stretch in the negative (shorter) :/
Tbh I'm not sure if there are many others that let you do this really fast. Most of that Sound design thing I would do it in Samplers or Editing the Sample in the Arrangement. The other way is to have Shaperbox & run your samples through that. Cableguys is super friendly and put out a lot of nice tricks and info.
did you test it in Reaper too? I like the idea behind it, but ain't cheap. As I am going to switch to a sample based production in the future, BUT some of my plugins have serious problems in Reaper (audio modern,Initial audio and Imaginando)
works fine for me in Reaper. Audiomodern stuff is just buggy. I never thought it was a Reaper compatiblity issue. Now if I can just get Komplete Kontrol to work.

I'll check battalion!
@itsoundshuman it's pretty cool if you like this and things like the microtonic it's got samples and synth engine I've been loving it
Great video, thx!

Ps: Increasing the timescale on kicks can give you some gnarly 808-like stuff :]

I'll try again tomorrow. But you shouldnt have any problems. The demo has no limits as far as I could see. ❣️
AFAWK everything works fine in reaper, and like @itsoundshuman says our demo allows you to try without any time limit!
