Such an informative and concise review to help me stay current on the latest new helmet offerings from top cycling brands.
Great job and ✌️
Great review. Helped me a lot.
I have the green one. I love the look and fit, also own the protone. But no sunglasses garage? This limits a lot the use for long ride. Any comments from you on this?
No sunglass holder is a problem for me. I would have happily paid the high asking price but having no sunglass ports was a deal breaker. Maybe they'll release a version 2.
If there isnt sunglass storage... nope. Im not sure how companies can design helmets without this simple yet crucial element(o).
@@ericwilliams4118 Yep a massive oversight by Kask so whoever signed off on the project needs to be kicked off the team.
I think most people don’t use the helmet to store sunglasses, unless you want a bug in your eye its best to leave them on..If they’re too dark you probably wearing the wrong glasses.
@@Thomas-fy9yc hmmm. Not too sure about that perspective. Sunglass helmet storage is pretty much a must...
Any pro race will show you how much even pro riders store their glasses on their helmet at different points during a race.
i dig the leather chin strap but i wouldn't trade my fidlock on my limar for any thing, maybe worth diy converting if swapping ever enters the budget
So did you send it back or buy it?
There are more than a few reviews out there of people claiming that the 3D pads don't last more than a few months and they should be replaced. For $400 and to deal with that crap? No thank you.
How does this compare to the Specialized Evade 3?
What about sunglasses storage? Other reviews mention that there isn't a secure place to put them.
there isn't and this helmet sit a bit too low on your head as well. Super light but I feel like for 300 bucks, there're better choices out there. I own 1.
thanks. I’ve had the protone (original) for years and need a new upgrade but guess I’ll just get the newer protone
@@dh6167 I also own the Icon. I prefer that much better than the old protone and better than this helmet as well. You can store the sunglasses on the ICON. Give it a shot
This helmet is 400$, that should be pretty much end of discussion.
And if you have a literal unlimited ammount of money, the missing holder for glasses is the definitive end of discussion
Yeah...not enough improvement to justify an extra $100. Bought the Icon instead.
Though as good as it may look, cool and be very functional, knowing that this $400 premium helmet will be depreciated to a plastic bowl in 2, or maybe 3 years at longest, even if you handle it super carefully, is very painful and stops me even from trying to wear it at the shop. Maybe I’m too poor to enjoy both the safety and boasting the modern coolness in one time on the road.
