Thanks for letting me and my Hubby tag along with you for all of your fun in the River Themes!!! We LOOOOVE watching you so very much Nicola!! We love the sounds and sight of the River Themes’ waves, the thick Themes mud, history, your creative eye , lots of birds and animals, the sounds of nature, your lovely voice and when you add a touch of beautiful music, of course HISTORY and the beauty of feeling outside with you …especially when we can’t get out ourselves!! Thanks for everything Nicola!!! We love watching YOU!! And when you and Si get together!!! Much love from the Southern United States!!♥️🇬🇧♥️🇺🇸♥️ May God bless you and yours. x🙏🏻🫶🏻♥️
I would've loved to have found the Victorian cast iron door that Anna found, I think it might've come from a stove/oven or was maybe an inspection hatch. Love the SiFinds lighter 😂 Lovely to see you all on a lark together too!
I think, it would have been part of an old wood-fired stove. They had smaller hatches like that, into which you could load firewood or coal, or to open it slightly for oxygen to keep the fire going.
Just when I thought I could not love Monica more...rescuing the crow makes her my new favorite person! A side note- I do think crows and mudlarks have a great deal in common as they are both adept at finding treasures!
Aw, Arthur you were the most majestic Crow I've ever met...you're flying high! Frieda, you're a beauty! Nicola, you went above and beyond on this video and gave us so many surprises! Anna, Monika, and Professor Hemery!!! I loved every last moment of this video! Superb Ladies and Gentlemen, excellent, even ultimate! WOW! Have a wonderful week all of you, thank you for letting us join in the hunt!
Thank you Nicola for this very charming, informative, enjoyable video. The Ladies are a joy! Ana’s explanation of clocks & how keeping time effected history was brilliant! Learning of Arthur’s passing is sad & your tribute to him, & wildlife, is really lovely. Richard Hemery’s brain is amazing - that’s his Super Power! Thanks again for sharing!
Love to see the "Ladies who Lark" together. I love Staffordshire slipware too! I love how you always end with some wild life , squirrel, fox or crow! Thanks Nicola!
One last thing: Arthur the crow. Frieda the dog. This is a beautiful friendship. And oh my god,Monika’s display is heavenly, wowwww Ok,I am done commenting now🥰
Wow, how gentle is thst dog? My Collie would have turned that poor bird into a black cloud of feathers in a second. Also, amazing to see Nicola so impressed with somebody else's collection considering she has a museum of her own!
@@terryt.1643 Right. My dog is 13 now and has arthritis but if she see a bird or a rabbit or any other rodent she's off like a bolt of lightning 🤦 I'm too soft when it comes to animals to handle it lol
The little wire thing was indeed for holding flowers but not the way she thought. It was the wire that wrapped around a tiny glass vial that you put your possie in. It was called a Tussie Mussie . My grandmother had one .
Great to see the Ladies who Lark all together in the mud! Love all the finds and the previous finds. Ofcourse you were the one to spot the pipe Nicola! Happy week from Australia ❤😊
What a good show today. The weekend is fine here too, thank you for asking. I very much enjoyed seeing everyone. And the crow at the end. Thanks for making my Sunday so friendly online.
Lovely to see Monica and Anna, looked a lovely day for mudlarking. Good day for interesting pieces of pottery and love the story about the watch winder, it is so quaint
Aww Rest in Peace Arthur 💖🌈😥Run free over rainbow bridge. I was only chatting to Monika about crows the other day on Insta. What fabulous finds ladies, it's always fun to see you all together 🙂
Hello Ladies Who Lark! What a wonderful video with so much to see and learn from. I am so sad about little Arthur, but at least he had the comfort and warmth of a loving home for a few days. Also, I want to thank you Nicola for continuously providing such informative and very engaging videos for us to watch. You are a very busy young lady, because I know the time you invest in filming, researching, and editing must be enormous. I just love seeing the footage of the surrounding landscape and the wildlife, not to mention the beautiful music. Looking forward to your video and as always, sending you much love and big hugs from Tennessee.
Hooray! Huzzah!! I am normally a number 7 person, but this is the number 3,and a majestic 3 it is! TRIO MADJESI!! That is Lingala, which means Majestic Trio. I have the great honor of meeting each one of you,Monika,Anna,Nicola. I shall never forget the wonderful souvenir ❤️
I have a great Anna Borzello story. I have a terrible phobia about false teeth, dentures. Last year,at Amphitheater, there she was, with that cube of pins, the magical mudlarking machine, and the bowl of teeth. I was mortified, but Anna guided me,she encouraged me to actually pick up one of those vulcanite dentures. I did! A strange phobia, now, overcome, thanks to a lady who larks😊🥰😊
Here is a Monika story: I,having traveled to London, had a particular event that I excitedly awaited, it was Monika’s presentation at Amphitheater. Due to an unfortunate miscommunication,I only managed to see the last 15 minutes of her presentation on Roman finds. I was devastated!! But I got to say hello to her afterwards, which made me so very happy!
And,to top off the Majestic trio,a Nicola story! I visited her home,an honor indescribable. I saw such magnificent things, the Nkisi Kozo,aMami Wata,oh goodness,my heart still races. Nicola asked if I would like some tea. I said yes,and asked for it just plain,as I drink tea in traditional Chinese style. She kind of looked at me funny, but agreed. I was served tea,but with milk and sugar😂 It was delicious,of course, but proof that one must never challenge the British tea tradition! I shall never forget my precious time in La Casa de Nicola❤️
What a lovely get together on the Thames! I agree the metal hinge was good to leave for the next mudlarker to find. Richard Hemery is so knowledgeable. I’m impressed with his explanation of the makeup of the pottery at different times in history. Rest in peace little Arthur. Crows are so intelligent. It was a blessing he was able to roam freely. Thank you Nicola for a lovely video for my Sunday evening.
Thrilling, absolutely Thrilling you're visit to Monica's! Freida is such a sweet girl! And OMG, seeing Aurthor was such a treat! I love crows! And Monica's collection was amazing!❤
I really love all the different birds.♥️ The finds are cool, too. I love the sherds, the green and the redware. The history of time that Ana shared was interesting. Oh, thank you for having Richard Hemery on. He is brilliant! RIP Arthur.♥️
@Si-finds is moonlighting as Speedo model? Ooh la la! 🧡 Wonderful to see Monika, Anna and Richard Hemery again! This was a lovely video, Nicola, thank you. 🙂 💛
Thank you Monika for inviting us into your home and what a great collection you have and displayed so nicely. Most of all thank you Nicola, I could watch you and listen to you talk all day long, honestly I fell in love with you the first time I watched your video, thank you for everything you do 🧡
Oh my gosh,Nicola, this is a magnificent video! I tend to comment as I view, hence the Monika and Anna ,and you(the cuppa tea story). But now,Richard Hemery!! That is phenomenal,I admire him very much, and, thanks to you,I have an autographed copy of Sherd,I treasure it❤️
It's so nice to see you ladies together again. I wish you could do it more often! I was told the darker the coral the deeper the water it was retrieved from. I love the coral necklaces we get in the 🇺🇸 west. Hope to see you all soon. Hello Richard we miss you!!!
You’ve done it again…..such a lovely presentation about mudlarking…❤ lovely women ❤ and seeing past the foreshore and into their home life..I also respect your interest in the history of the found objects, it rounds out the experience for you, and for us….fun…Glad Arthur didn’t have to struggle or suffer…
Such wonderful energy flowing through this video, it was great fun, and so informative. Though I doubt I'll ever trod the shore of that great river, Thames (I live in Michigan), I am saving my pennies for Richard Hemery's book, Sherd. I felt so sad at the news of Arthur. I only hope that the affection shown him by humans, including you, Nicola, made him feel cared for. They're incredibly smart birds, and I'm sure they feel, and understand, far more than we appreciate. I lift my gin-and-tonic to Arthur's memory. A bright-eyed soul, was he.
WOW! What a wonderful way to spend a bit of time on a hot summer day, larking about. I wish so much I could be in London for the upcoming events. Hi from Canada.
You three are a real team of mudlarking! Also great to see Richard Hemery, he is the most helpful person when ID any pottery. Sorry to hear about Arthur, but he had a lovely stay by Monica and Frieda. I'm am coming to London in September to get two weekends of exhibitions and hope you meet you all! Greetings from sunny Germany!
What a delightful lark Nicola with such great ladies for company and some intriguing finds too .I thought that big heavy iron piece might be the Ash door for a wood stove from the Victorian era..The Wren farthing from 1954 brought back memories of joining the first ship of my seagoing career not far from you anchored off Thameshaven and having to climb up a very long Pilot ladder from a bobbing launch in the river. Great agin to bring Richard to give wonderful detailed insight into the pottery sherds..Another animal friend to charm us with in that Crow but no Squirrel ....maybe next time if he/she is still around ,We are being amazed and charmed by some Ruby throated Humming birds who come to our syrup feeders just outside our breakfast nook window.. A lovely vlog thanks so much . Take care lots of love from us in Canada. XX
Oh no. Sweet dear little Arthur touched my heart and made me cry 😪At least his final days were spent around loving and caring friends. And I LOVE the Ladies who lark ♥Thank you so much Nicola xx Teresa ❤🇦🇺
I love the RUclips mudlarking community ❤ I have learned so much watching Nicola and her friends’ videos. Love it when y’all get together for a lark. Thanks for sharing these wonderful finds, ladies! From Spring Hill, Tennessee
Such a fantastic video Nicola!!! So nice to see you, Anna and Monika together again!(along with Si in his Speedo lol) It was especially lovely to go to Monika’s home and meet Freida and Arthur and see her wonderfully displayed finds! My heart hurt when I saw that Arthur didn’t make it but how fortunate for him to have spent his last days receiving so much love and affection. Sending you much love !! DeeAnn🇺🇸
Love the video as usual! I’m in love with Freida! She brought tears to my eyes, as she is very reminiscent of my departed fur-child ❤ Thank you Nicola for sharing this with all of your adoring fans!
What a great video, and so wonderful to see you three ladies together again! Always learning something new from Anna and Monica. I personally would have taken that metal piece home, but I guess when you've got a load of cool finds from the Thames you can pick and choose. Thank you so much Nicola! Oh, and we'll be looking forward to seeing your Thames Birds!
Hi Nicola, Anna & Monika ✨️ A 'Mudlarkathon' of an adventure in fantastic weather and lovely friends. The combined passion and knowledge with fun banter is a winning combination every time. I guess only after years of finding artefacts, can you decide what to keep and what to leave behind for other mudlarks, especially the school age next generation. Like your studio, Monica has an excellent display set up.....superb talking points. I am in London during September, so will do my best to attend a Thames Festival event 🤞 It was a shame about Arthur, but a great effort by Monika and Frida to care for him. Thank you Empress of the Thames 👑 Have a Great week 🙏☯️🧡☮️🕊🌻🌞🦋 xx
Good to see you and the other ladies together. I've been thinking about them lately. So sorry about Arthur...his last days was filled with love...it was meant to be.
What a joy it must be to go out and do what you love to do with such great friends. All of you ladies combining your knowledge to help us understand the history behind your finds thanks for sharing .To bad about Arthur I have crows here that follow me when i mow the grass to see what they can find sometimes within 6 feet of the riding mower they know the're safe here i guess the're larking as well thanks for a great video Karl from eastern Canada
That was a wonderful episode to watch Nicola. Very interesting and full of equally interesting finds. I especially loved that watch winder that was a special find. How beautiful was that. Blimey and what a fabulous collection Monica had. Her finds looked so good on those shelves. 👏 😢 Poor Arthur. A very sad note to end on. Monica's dog was so sweet. At least Arthur had a safe and calm passing. Not left in the wild to fend for himself. Especially when he was obviously not well at all. Xx
This was a fabulous video. It was so fascinating to see what Anna and Monica brought to show us. Also the information that Richard shared was very interesting. Please make more like this one. Thank you so much.
😮 That hinge was spectacular. Too bad we didn't get to see it cleaned up. It deserves a place to be admired. Great history though. Nice to see all of you ladies having fun in the Thames. Thanks.😊
I’m finding it increasingly difficult to watch you in your studio! I listen avidly to what you’re saying, but find my eyes roaming around all your wonderful finds - each one having such an amazing history. It makes me realise just how much we miss if we’re not ‘in the moment’. I love the unexpectedness of mudlarking, but also how things find you, like the pipe and the bottle! Another captivating episode! Thank you!
Hi Nicola, I came across one of your videos this week whilst recovering from Covid and I’m hooked! I’ve binge watched for the past couple of days. I love the nature scenes you add which are so calming. It’s really exciting watching you find things and then hearing about what you’ve found out about them. You’re a joy to watch.😊
Yay, the Ladies who lark are back! I have missed you! I wish I lived nearer to London, I would be there like shot for the upcoming events. Omg! Arthur was gorgeous. Bless you Monica for taking good care of him in his last days💗 Fab video Nicola 😁💗 x
Hi from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania! I absolutely love your videos! I look forward to lazy Sunday afternoons watching what you find on the Thames. The ladies together are a hoot! Coming to London and just finding one item on the Thames is on my bucket list. Sorry to hear about Arthur. Such a lovely crow. I live through you ladies. Mudlarking would be a dream come true for me. I'm always on the hunt whether it be beachcombing for shells, metal dectecting or going to thrift stores. Again, you're the best Nicola!
Nicola: So very happy to enjoy this magnum opus video! Monika and Anna are always delightful and you guys are so fortunate to know and enjoy one another's company. I envy you and your friends!. Richard has an encyclopedic mind and yet explains clearly and understandably. What a great resource to have. I do look forward to this year's Totally Thames events. Thank you for taking us along for the ride, Nicola!
Thank you Monica for the love and care you provided to Arthur. I was lucky enough to care for a baby Owl myself for a time and felt so very privileged. I also hope to be able to attend a Thames festival in the next few years! Sandie, Melbourne, Australia x
Fantastic video! It was great to spend time with the Ladies who Lark again, and enjoy a suprise visit from Richard Hemery. The little pewter plate, the heart on pipe piece, and the ceramic covered in little holes, are my fav finds from today.
Lovely seeing all you ladies that lark together again! Beautiful scenery! I love the way Anna explained the beginnings of time keeping by watches..kind of sad we now just use digital tech..love the pottery lessons and all the finds..and how heartwarming that Arthur the crow is being cared for..he won't forget this..super intelligent they are! Just great video to take me over to you all from urban Ontario thank you!
My wife and I are from South Africa and usually don't miss your mudlarking outings on RUclips. Both myself and my wife's ancestors came from the UK about 300 years ago and we are amazed to see you find stuff 300 years and older. Because South Africa used to be a British colony prior to 1961, lots of the modern English history, currency and artefacts are known to us, we enjoy the discoveries you are making on the foreshore and rivers quite interesting. Keep up the good videos, greetings Louis and Anrie de Beer - Pretoria, South Africa.
Your videos reach far beyond Thames Mudlarking ( I live in New Mexico, USA and am enthralled by the videos you, Si, and The Northern Mudlarks share). I feel I know some parts of the Thames because I've seen them in your posts, so I look them up ( wildlife, buildings, and watercraft). The building that looks like it is under construction, scaffolding, cables...), turns out to be a finished construction. Someone convinced someone it was going to be a tourist attraction. Turns out it is a drain on public funds! I love your videos! So much to learn, and know. Thank You.
I LOVE these sweet funny ladies! Such great company! I love the tiny finds! ❤😊❤ Si on the lighter, so very funny, he'd think so too!!!😂❤ The surprise guest! What a treat! You spoil us Nicola!! Thank you, Richard is so knowledgeable, great to listen to. Thank you Richard Henry!! ❤❤❤
Ladies Who Lark....Ladies Who Laugh.....Ladies Who have Fun. Very entertaining video filled with beautiful treasures, and the finds were great also ha ha ha. Have a great week.
Isn't it rather fun that you three are there on the shore together searching for treasures and so is that group of seagulls ... two groups searching the shore for treasures... how fun. And I love the idea of making earrings out of shards of pipe stem... that's cute. I most certainly would take that door home... wonder if that came off a stove... Thanks for all your well wishes for the weekend... I'm looking forward to this coming weekend I think... I'll have made another trip around the sun by then... so all is well. Hope that all is wonderful with you and can't wait to see your next mudventure.
What a fun video. It's so nice seeing what others consider valuable and want to keep. I'm afraid I would want to keep it all. I loved that door with the handle and would have definitely kept it.
Thank you! Love to you both ❤
Yes it's such a great channel love it.
Yes to taking the hinge thingy home! I would!
I would've loved to have found the Victorian cast iron door that Anna found, I think it might've come from a stove/oven or was maybe an inspection hatch.
Love the SiFinds lighter 😂
Lovely to see you all on a lark together too!
I loved it, too. I thought maybe it was a door knocker… Inreally loved it! 🥰💕❤️👍👍
yes thats exactly what i thought
I was going to say it's a door from a woodburning stove/oven also. 👍 Either to stoke wood into the fire or as said an inspection door.
Yes, my chimney clean out door at base of my chimney resembles the shape and heft of this.
I think, it would have been part of an old wood-fired stove. They had smaller hatches like that, into which you could load firewood or coal, or to open it slightly for oxygen to keep the fire going.

Oh, and we'll be looking forward to seeing your Thames Birds!
Thanks Elizabeth. I'm working on the Thames birds!
Thank you for a wonderful video, great mudlarks, interesting finds ,history lessons and Arthur the crow❤.
WooHoo! Been waiting for this 😊just the greatest x3 😊♥️
Hi Nicola, Anna & Monika ✨️
A 'Mudlarkathon' of an adventure in fantastic weather and lovely friends.
The combined passion and knowledge with fun banter is a winning combination every time.
I guess only after years of finding artefacts, can you decide what to keep and what to leave behind for other mudlarks, especially the school age next generation.
Like your studio, Monica has an excellent display set up.....superb talking points.
I am in London during September, so will do my best to attend a Thames Festival event 🤞
It was a shame about Arthur, but a great effort by Monika and Frida to care for him.
Thank you Empress of the Thames 👑
Have a Great week 🙏☯️🧡☮️🕊🌻🌞🦋 xx
Thank you :) xox
A fun group!! Hope you three do more of these!❤
Good to see you and the other ladies together. I've been thinking about them lately. So sorry about Arthur...his last days was filled with love...it was meant to be.
Greetings from the USA! Loved this, thanks! The longer the better for me! You helped me get through the worst of covid 19, thank you!❤ 😊
What a joy it must be to go out and do what you love to do with such great friends.
Loved this video!! The Women who Lark are awesome!!
That was a wonderful episode to watch Nicola. Very interesting and full of equally interesting finds. I especially loved that watch winder that was a special find. How beautiful was that.
Blimey and what a fabulous collection Monica had. Her finds looked so good on those shelves. 👏
😢 Poor Arthur. A very sad note to end on. Monica's dog was so sweet. At least Arthur had a safe and calm passing. Not left in the wild to fend for himself. Especially when he was obviously not well at all. Xx
Lovely vid watching the ladies do what they do!
💖Luv ya bunches, Nicola 💖
This was a fabulous video. It was so fascinating to see what Anna and Monica brought to show us. Also the information that Richard shared was very interesting. Please make more like this one. Thank you so much.
😮 That hinge was spectacular. Too bad we didn't get to see it cleaned up. It deserves a place to be admired. Great history though. Nice to see all of you ladies having fun in the Thames. Thanks.😊
Wonderful, loved all of it. Thanking all of you.
Wow! Monicahas a fantastic and well displayed collection, as do you! Thanks for sharing 😊
Wow ! That was truely Aurther the movie , what a brilliant episode .👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Loved this outing , great girls to lark with and interesting finds! ❤🦘
Thank you Dianne! I hope you're fully recovered soon x
That was a lovely episode, Nicola. A treat from start to finish.
Yay, the Ladies who lark are back! I have missed you! I wish I lived nearer to London, I would be there like shot for the upcoming events. Omg! Arthur was gorgeous. Bless you Monica for taking good care of him in his last days💗 Fab video Nicola 😁💗 x
Oh my goodness what fun! I like others can't believe Anna left the hinge behind! Was looking forward to seeing it cleaned up! ❤
Wow, I loved this video so much. Thank you Nicola and Ladies that Lark. Arthur andFrieda, beautiful.
Thank you!
I love the display, but couldn't help think of the time to dust. Very enjoyable.
What fun...and you three ladies are inspiring with your passion for larking. Thanks for sharing. 😊
Absolutely fab, Nicola. Loved Arthur the crow ❤️ till next time. 😎👍🇨🇦x
Thank you. I hope your dream comes true!
Thanks dear Steve! xox
Thank you! yes, i love the little heart on the pipe stem best too
Thank you Anna for removing all those horrible pins out of the environment! ❤
What a fantastic video! So much fun and information packed in. Thank you for this.
Right at the end of the video it said that a week after the filming Arthur passed away😢
Thank you Louis and Anrie!
Thank You.
09:50 🤣🤣🤣😝 He'll have a good LOL when he learns about that lighter! 😜
I LOVE these sweet funny ladies! Such great company! I love the tiny finds! ❤😊❤
Si on the lighter, so very funny, he'd think so too!!!😂❤
The surprise guest! What a treat! You spoil us Nicola!! Thank you, Richard is so knowledgeable, great to listen to. Thank you Richard Henry!! ❤❤❤
You ladies are so beautiful and energetic and inspiring!! Thank you!!!❤
Ladies Who Lark....Ladies Who Laugh.....Ladies Who have Fun.
Thanks for a lovely program Nicola. 🐦⬛🐦⬛🐦⬛
