@Westley Philip it did the trick and I actually got access to my account again. I am so happy!
Thanks so much you saved my ass !
"Hip Hop ain't never going back to this point" to hear that from a youngin' made me shed a tear. Bold statement indeed.
Sheesh, felt that from this young man
"Shiny apple is bruised but sweet and if you choose to eat you could lose your teeth..." Absolute brilliance. Reference to NYC.
Black Star "Thieves in the night" this song is lyrics and beats and a message you will rarely find in the history of hip hop - it is an all time classic
Cosign this, its a must!
@@ericparker163 Thanks man! Ahmad is the bet old school hip hop eactor out here and does such an inredible job seeking out so many great songs, it is hard to get some key ones into the mx but I hold out hope for this one (and "K.O.S. - Knowledge of Self).
Yes please!!
Song is a fuckin vibe, makes me feel a certain way only a few songs make me feel!
I consider all 3 of these men legendary, listen to Common: The Light, Testify, Mos Def: Ms Fat Booty, Umi Says, Talib Kweli: Get By, Black Star: Definition. You will love all of these,I promise. 😄
Mos Def: Sunshine, Brooklyn and Love...I love Definition...grew up in that streets in NYC
Can't forget about What's beef. Hardest and dopest song in a very long time. The line beef is when a gangsta and doin it right and other gangstad done decided what to do with his life.
New world water..
This song represents the HipHop artform at its best. Jazz sample helps set a majestic mood every rapper have slightly different cadences. Gritty but witty lyrics. This is a perfect hip-hop song
One of the 10 greatest hip hop songs ever.
“Asked my man how traveling the world sound. Found it hard to imagine he hadn’t been past downtown
Common killed this, Mos incredible flow, Kweli incredible lyrics.
Man you said it homie. "EARTH RAP "
The pronunciation of these lyrics are insane!
The flow ain't no joke either.
Other Black Star classics: Thieves in the Night, KOS (Determination), Little Brother
I was gonna say Little Brother too...classic.
Little brother produced by JDilla
History!!!!! They both get super busy!!!!
thieves in the night is one of my favorite songs
Just listening to this song is worthless you have to read the lyrics and think about all of it. This song is so deep and actually relates to my country's situation
Worthless is harsh, Bruh lol but I follow.
Mos Def is pure poetry
90s Hip Hop was all about the lyrics. It's referred to as the Golden Age of hip Hop
Black Star - Definition: was the big hit off that album. Not as thinky as this one, but absolute quality with a great beat.
Mos Def - Dollar Day: I think you'd love this, it's about hurricane Katrina
Talib Kweli - Get By. produced by Kanye!
Mos Def / Pharoah Monche - Oh No: so much fun, fantastic lyric-juggling
Oh no ...
No question Nate Dogg killed the hook
beat is the canvas, lyrics are the paint, delivery/voice is the brush
Real Bar Spitters 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Mos, Kweli, and Com, are exquisite, prolific writers. Pure poetry.
I'm proud of you Ahmad you gave me hope for the future spread knowledge that's why were here like MF DOOM said to enter through the ceiling after we reach that center being. But you already there💪🏽💯
Appreciate it my man 💯🙏🏾 that means a lot !
@@KingAhmadTv this song mad deep. It's about gentrification and police brutality and just life as an
African in America.
Yo, on The Amen, corner I stood lookin' at my former hood
Felt the spirit in the wind, knew my friend was gone for good
Threw dirt on the casket, the hurt, I couldn't mask it
Mixin' down emotions, struggle I hadn't mastered
This is about Gentrification not a dead homie. As he says goodbye to his hood, and the spirit of the black community dies.
So much on my mind, I just can't recline
Blastin' holes in the night till she bled sunshine
Breathe in, inhale vapors from bright stars that shine
Breathe out, weed smoke retrace the skyline
This is about gun violence, hence the fact that he's "blasting holes in the night til she bled sunshine". Meaning that there is gunshots til dawn. But it also means his eyes are wide open in the dark, as their eyes create holes in the dark, until night, also meaning he can't sleep or "recline". This song is deep asf and I've heard it like 100 times by now just finding this out today. Keep doing what u doing bro
@@thomassankara1391🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
I remember this song from back in the day......believe it or not.....I know the lyrics by heart.....and always sing along.........this song jamz.......all 3 absolutely murder this beat........unforgettable......Common's verse is my favorite.....
This album is an instant classic young blood....dope hiphop in its purest form.
Common I Used To Love HER is one of if not the best rap song ever
Mos Def actually sang a good amount of his album Black on Both Sides. Check out the song Umi Says. Or even Rock N Roll. He even sang the hook on Blackstar’s single Definition.
Don't forget Climb with Vinia Mojica.
My favourite hip hop track of all time...
"Hard knuckles on the second hand of working class watches"
So many meaning packed inside that ...... Absolutely genius line
🔥🔥🔥
Respiration remix produced by Pete Rock featuring Black Thought.
Powerful cypher. Wish they made an album of this... and included Saul Williams.
One Of The Greatest Tracks In Hip Hop History, Point Blank Period
Im glad u appreciate Yasiin Bey singing. He got that Mr Notch vibe from Born Jamericans.
Check out Talib Kweli, manifesto. That song blew my mind the first time I heard it. I remember I had just smoked a joint with my buddy and he played it. Straight up put me in to a trance. I was totally blown away by the lyrics and message. Great track.
I listened to this song about 6 times today
And i bet ur still catching bars. The lyricism on this is unreal.
“Bust the holes in the night till she bleed sunshine” fam this was a #1 on the Top 10 on 106 n Park back in the days. It’ll never be the same kid…
As a young man it was nice to listen on all your comments after the song was finished so now you understand why 90's folks basically stay listening to music from the 90's, I applaud you...👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👍🏽
Blackstar “Redefinition”
Talib Kweli “Get By”
Growing up in the 90s as a teen, this was fun to watch. 90's rap was truly the golden age. 90's New York is on another level by itself. The style, the clothing. Lyrics are the most important to me next to the beat. Like, the lyrics have to be strong enough to be read on stage in a slam poetry setting and still stand up. There's not much poetry in today's rap let alone a centralize message.
My man! Ever since I came across you,On RUclips ,you mos. Def.,one of my favorite reaction dudes!! For a young man,you grasp my old head music, and truly understand it and appreciate it! Just wanna say, thank you!!
Black Star- Thieves in the night
The most classic rap video in my opinion. Such a very real feel. It was the reason why I bought this album. Then I fell in love with Thieves In The Night. More than just rap here. Whole other level of music. This is the definition of expression through music. 💠
Might be the best hip hop track ever produced
KingAmhad when you describe this as reality music that's an understatement! Talib verse has so much reality that they cut the last bars out on RUclips
"For trees to grow in Brooklyn, seeds need to be planted, I'm askin' if y'all feel me and the crowd left me stranded, My blood pressure boiled and rose, 'Cause New York niggas actin' spoiled at shows, To the winners the spoils go, I take the L, transfer to the 2 head to the gates, New York life type trife, the Roman Empire state"🎤🔥🔥
I feel like NYC is dying and this song is song heartfelt. Many people are moving South, immigration, crime and gentrification, inflation are always changing the city. Its like a person-growing and going through things. Chicago is a similar type of city dealing with the same issues. Soon Houston will beat them as the third most populous city
Mos Def, "New World Water"
Mos Def is so far ahead of his time. Knowledge.
Bro. I quote that song all the time. Here on Hawai'i Island a lot of us get our water from rain catchment or we have to have a truck come fill the tank if there hasn't been much rain. "F*uck a bank, I need a 20 year water tank." That line has influenced me heavily for over 20 years. That song is very prophetic.
These are lyrics that touch the heart and soul. Those who grew up in the hood feel this to the core.
Lyrically perfect ❤🔥
the lyrics are so profound, great reaction my guy
Great reaction video! I love how you got the stank face from the jump 😂 The lyrics are amazing in this song
I brought this album in 2005 before I flew out to Hong-Kong and every time I hear this it reminds me of Hong-Kong
This song, precisely, changed my life.
Poetry in rap. So good. Check out their solo stuff. COMMON: The Light. Beautiful song man. 💙
Yessir. Classic joint.
"Definition" -Blackstar FIRE!!
One of the best Hip Hop albums of all time!!
Blackstar - Definition
Mos is mad poetic
this track is epic
This is one of my absolute favorite hip hop tracks, records and favorite emcees. Idk what I did but, Talib just started following me on ig recently.
Black stars what's beef will blow your mind.
one of the best songs ever. very deep lyrics and it captures the reality of the ugly part of city life
Mighty Mos, Talib, Common & Hi-Tek = Hip Hop Classic
This is conscious rap for the woke the unconscious are still sleep and they can't hear the message.
Blackstar- Definition and Re:Definition.
Reality rap👍🏽
the beat the beat ohhhhhh my damm
Top tier emceeing.
I remember mos def signing autographs in a library.
You should check out "Umi says" for Mos Def singing
great reaction...u get it
One of my favorite songs ever. I still remember watching this shit on Rap City on BET. Changed my life.
Gotta react to De La Soul "Stakes Is High!" 🔥🔥🔥
He said " can't tell the difference between the Cops and Robbers they both Partners, They both Heartless! BARS 😱 that's what you didn't get, remember?
Little brother, that type of rap still exists. Its just not mainstream. Thanks to the internet there are plenty of artists who rap like this and even those who rap about deeper subjects, 5th dimensional. You just have to find them and reject this crap that passes for rap in today's mainstream.
"Listen. The city is breathing"
Love this track yo
Black Starr, definition! !
Reflection Eternal "The Blast"
Much props for reacting to these guys, being a fan get you on a watch list, they speak truth to power and get suppressed, just as they say. I’m very thankful they got a chance to say it.
It’s the appreciation for me!
this man yasiin is just different...man is fucking different oh my god!!!!
🔥🔥classic album!🔥🔥
***THE DEFINITION ****
(Black Star Album)
Classic 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥
Classic bro this nothing but real life bars
Good one little brother I suggest Thieves in the Night by Blackstar
Luv the reactions keep doing your thing 👊🏽
Black star- redefinition
imma be honest respiration is my favorite song 🔥
“can’t tell between the cops and the robbers”. a very poignant statement. it’s a reference to the life of a normal black man in a big city. at this time of the song’s release the nypd employed a policy of stop and frisk. where they would roll up on a civilian and pat him down and run his pockets. most people couldn’t tell if they were being robbed or arrested at first.
@KingAhmadTv man could you also check the flying high remix of this song by Pete Rock. Takes it to another lane. Just beautiful
nahh i honestly hate how rappers these days be like "i pull up with money blah blah blah".
ahmad is right. hip hop aint ever going back to how it was.
Facts!
Check out brown skin lady off this album so good
The Alkaholiks, "The Next Level"
A great song!! Common and Talib and Mos Def are underated
Nice review! This is my favorite track on this record. It's a timeless classic. Like some folks on here said, gotta check out Thieves in the Night. The hardest tracks tho imo, check out Hater Players and Twice Inna Lifetime. They go hard on those tracks! That last one has some underground heads Jane Doe, Wordsworth and Punchline on there. Mos's verse on that was one of his hardest
Not sure if u did it yet, but u should peep Black Star - "Redefinition"..thats the song playin at the end of the "Definition" video when the beat switched.. Nuhn but love from Midland ✊🏾✌🏾💪🏾
You finally made it
There are still plenty of reality rappers. One finally got recognized after a long career. Congrats Nas
2024. You the only reactor I’ll listen to. You young buck. I appreciate you listening to what HipHop was when it was great.
Nowadays it’s questionable
Thanks man on behalf of old heads.
Now do Jeru
Then Guilty Simpson
Black Moon
J-live
I'm mos def fan thank God for him to come up to hip Hop it was the best I think he should have got more love like a lot like a Grammy or something his style is different
You got a sub from that end speech
Jamaican reggae star Chronixx Perfect Tree used thise beats in his remix, total bliss.
Yo give Common's "I Used to Love H.E.R" a listen
