Old rusty stuff is fun, after buying a cheap butane burner for stubborn bolts I have since found out there is a special gas torch mix which runs much hotter, even better. I couldnt resist the urge to rust treat some of those components with CLR vinegar or abrasives
Did you remember to adjust the steering/tie rods after lowering? When lowering, you’ll change the toe setting, which can result in poor handling and excessive tyre wear. My recent bug was lowered, when I bought it. Was all over the road, until I adjusted the toe. Then it was steady as arrow.
david derry sorry for late reply just got back from camperjam 2018 then had work today solar went in mint with a bit of tweaking could make a video on it if you like haven’t got the panel on yet but all set up and ready and tested just needs plugging in on the roof
When you have raised the front end on the jacks and lower it onto the ground, the car needs to roll a few inches, to let the suspension settle. It’s due to the design/geometry of the front suspension. It’s not quite the same at the back. It will easier find its new level. Again due to a different suspension design.
@@MyNameIsNavo awesome, thanks. I have shorter shocks on my bus (bought it lowered), but they're very rigid and I'm planning to put in slightly higher springs with the original shocks to get a smoother ride.
@@HellenicVanagonTheSyncroHeresy by all means I understand mate I'm not saying it's right to do I'm saying I did it and I enjoy it way safer that the snapped springs that were on there before thanks so much for your feedback tho

How did the solar installation go? Been thinking about it for my bus, when we getting to see her in paint?

And I’ve filmed a reveal at camperjam so I will be revealing it this Saturday
Be good to see mate, you planning any other shows this year?
How much did it actually lower it and how is the ride quality compared to before
I lowered it by about 40mm and it drove lovely
Just a small thing ,put wheel under van they can slip pulling thing about, good vid cheers.
Cheers mate will do next time I have it in the air !
There doesn't seem to be much of a height difference in your bus after the spring swap but you will know the difference.

You left on the original shock absorbers with the lowered springs? How does that handle?
Hey man yeah rides sweet way better than it was felt like a boat might get shortened shocks one day but for now they are great

BillNyeTheNaziSpy I could make one for you but I might have to upload to another channel unless I drop it in the middle of one of the blogs for you :)
Sorry ,but i feel sorry for the paint shop. Coming from a auto painter for 30 +years
It is wrong to lower a t3, since you defeat all it's passive safety measures.
The Syncro Heresy
Well we all have our opinions and personal preference which is what makes vans great individuality
It is not an opinion matter. Please have a look:
