We are now aware that Wendigoon uploaded a video about the Gloria Ramirez case which one of the memes in this video references. If you'd like to see Gus and Henry take on the Disturbing Movie Iceberg that Wendigoon also covered, look no farther: ruclips.net/video/3aRdlSlsvfc/видео.html
I was just watching that video 💀
I’ve noticed you and your friends like horror stuff (i know, shocking) but I think you guys might like to look at the D&D monster called “The False Hydra” It’s interesting and up the horror alley. Good vids, keep ‘em up!
And like everything Wendigoon does, it's nonsense.
Hey, I just wanted you to know if you're curious, the "gone home" incident was made by cazsu and T9(thafnine)
@@Fr.O.G. Literally how is it nonsense?
The only thing preventing me from developing a parasocial relationship with the hosts of this channel is the full knowledge that they would relentlessly make fun of me for my bad taste.
Heed the siren’s call.

at least i feel like i need to reduce my exposure to them

Yo, I feel that "My mental illness makes certain horror cliches still very effective"
My ADHD really fucks with my object permanence, and it's a daily struggle for me to go "Okay, did I actually do/experience this thing or did I just think really vividly about it?"
So, when _that_ twist happened in Room 1408, involving the main character thinking he escaped and visiting the post office happened, it fucked me the fuck up.
And when telling my gf about it, I could tell she was like "... Really? That got you?" 🤣
Same
Shit, maybe I do have adhd
Heed the Siren’s Call.
ADHD and stress together are a hell of a combo. Maybe not specifically in a horror sense, but some thing not being there when I clearly remember having taken it with me and having put it in a specific place can lead to some extremely tense moments even in real life, especially when that thing is a phone or car keys. My own personal record is going half-way insane looking for keys only to find out they were actually in the pocket I originally thought they were, but somehow they were wrapped up in some other stuff hiding their recognizable shape leading me to convince myself that I was misremembering where the keys actually were and thinking I must have taken them out of the pocket and placed them elsewhere without recalling where I had left them.
Is this why im so scared of things that are funny in hindsight???

The toxic blood post in the beginning of the video really put me put me in the mood to head the siren's call.
Nah. Despite the theories, all the symptoms just happen to be the same as a mass psychogenic illness.

head?
The one from this lineup that well and truly got me was the one about getting shot in the head film vs reality. As someone who thankfully lived in safe places and never dealt with cops, the times I got into fights were once in a decade, so real violence comes at such a shock. It's quiet, it's brutal, and it's unceremonius. Worst of all it's slow. The body even in impossible recovery scenarios will torturously cling to life. Nerves will fire, your mind goes into shock. Everything's a blur.
It is never clean, it is never quick. It is never cool.
I mean its violence. The times its "cool" are the outliers. They are just a lot more fun to think about so we use them in movies all the time because its more fun than reality. If we wanted reality we wouldn't even be making movies.
counter point: Railcannon?
Distressingmemes is my go-to pre horror movie thing, because while not incredibly scary in of itself, it is kinda off-putting and gets me into my own head and in the right headspace to actually take a horror movie seriously. It's a way for me to intentionally take the wind out of my sails.
Just kinda gets you in the mood to heed the sirens call
Yeah, the whole conversation about people going missing in forests (specially the bit about mountain lions) gave me some shivers. Better to stay inside where I can comfortably heed the siren's call.
I always tell tourists they need to bring weapons into the mountains, you'd be fucking SHOCKED how many go missing in the Smokeys alone.

Wendigoon literally just made a video about her and it is super interesting.
The Tl;Dr is that she probably used alternative medicine to try and treat her very late-stage cancer, and thanks to the Fefibluraters at the hospital it turned the harmless Oven Cleaner into a Nerve Agent.
35:00 this video didn’t freak me out but it was so so well done I just marveled in its execution. Great job to who ever made that.

DistressingMemes is literally one of the few subreddits I'm a frequent and consistent visitor of. Its content is relaxing to me, somehow.
I remember watching a lot of "Incident" memes when they were popular, and although many of them tried to be scary/disturbing this "Gone home" incident is truly horrifying, because of its writing (or at least I as a person who doesn't know much about writing quality think so)

Also fun fact as someone from an American hunting family, those stories of people just straight up disappearing in Parks is juya straight up fact for us, and why you really shouldn't ever go into the wilderness alone. You can train for navigation all your life but when it comes to unmarked, uncharted, and completely wild land scapes 1 day will be enough to completely loose all your track of direction and pinpointing. Always have someone be designated trail marker when trekking without a path, or everyone will just assume you're dead if you don't get home by night

27:34 is about as far as I could make it. It's 12 30 in the morning, I'm wearing headphones, and the sound of bugs flying near my ears give me a physical reaction, so I threw my headphones of in a fit of terror. What's worse is that the sound is in stereo, and I wasn't expecting or prepared for that at all... I'll probably try to finish this one at a later date, probably durring the day. Until then, I might just watch Steven Universe, maybe some fun stupid anime, idk...
Great video, fuck you guys 💖
Dyatlov Pass is actually pretty solved. There is a good podcast episode about it released on March 9th. It's an episode of Cold Cases featuring Sarah Turney from Disappearances and Voices for Justice. Also, I hate the missing 411 stuff. Just like Dyatlov Pass, people don't want the real story. They want to ignore sad, but likely explanations in favor of something supernatural or conspiracies pulled out of their asses.
The movie "The Prestige" is my favorite adaptation of the "teleportation is instant death" thing. It's extra scary bc the death isn't instant.
That first one about the light is very very funny if you think about it from the monster/intruders perspective. Like imagine your a scary monster/dangerous person, and your gonna get someone in the dark and the light is on, your fully exposed, but your gonna kill them anyway but then you hear them ask themselves out loud if they think they left the light on and your first responds it to answer the question.
I didn't expect to see a meme posted by Chronos himself
I had no idea he was a madagascar fan
When I was a kid I had this weird phobia around sharp objects. If there was a knife of a pair of scissors on the table I'd always make sure it was pointed away from me. This was because I worried that the sharp object in question would suddenly fly forward and stab me.
Final destination core
Also i have one new fear now
I've had something similar, whenever heights become an issue I feel like I'm being to be dragged over the edge by the sheer pull of fear, (Maybe that's what the call of the void is.) however, it seems to have infiltrated my imagination as well as whenever in my imagination I try to separate 2 objects from each other, (Usually myself or a nearby object and an infection of some sort.) one of the objects (Almost always the infection.) is unstoppably dragged toward the other and breaks through any obstacles in the way instantly except for ones which actively take mental energy to keep up but even then it only barely keeps it contained.
When it comes to horror in a fictional setting people can forget that fear is optional, and triggers are a separate entity from fear. The moment you start laughing at that horror it almost reliably defangs the fear of what just happened. Emphasis on the almost.
As someone who heeds the siren’s call at least twice a week - its a really rejuvenating experience ✌️

I thought with the haunted house it was gonna be that the water was drugged so they'd think it was scarier. And I think im just gonna keep pretending thats how the rest of that idea went.

When I see a Diregentleman upload, you know I have to Heed the Siren Call and watch it. This freaked me out a lot more than I thought it would especially that video. Also now I wanna read that Nathaniel Hawthorne story
While aside from that absolutely horrible shower meme I wasn't too bothered by all this, I remember a distressing meme that you guys mentioned in a think your second two sentence horror story video about a closet in Ohio and ever since I've looked it up, I haven't been okay.

Please make another one of these, this is one of the most fun watches I've had in a while! The mix of distress horror and the comedy that comes from you three talking is excellent!
Shoutout to how much the editing has improved on this channel. The little music and atmospheric sound bits were phenomenal. I know it must take a lot of time and effort to add them in, but they add so much depth.
I had to cover my eyes during the siren house bit so I didn't see whatever was in the house, but I don't want to, and #iamimmune so I don't have to.
For me, the worst ones were that one and the one at the very beginning. I'm very sensitive to jumpscares and viscerally unsettling imagery, and the worst part is the anticipation of something about to come out of the darkness.

oh yea!! fun thing that addison's "put your food in one container because bears" story reminded me of, one time when I was camping with the boy scouts, we were staying in an area that had bears, and some of the younger scouts, /despite being told to keep all their smellables in the trash or in the bear cans,/ decided to snack in their tents and leave food wrappers in there. luckily nobody was hurt but 2 tents needed to be replaced, and if the bears had decided to come at a time when the scouts were still at camp there could've been a /drastically/ different outcome. anyways me when i heed the siren's call, #iamimmune , etc etc lol

If I don't have the window locked at all times, I know something will get in.
