The show is not the most shocking. Rammstein have played this song in South America, Europe and in the more conservative countries of Eastern Europe - even in Russia! No problem! But in the land of the free, in the land of freedom of speech and unlimited opportunities - they were arrested. Till and Flake have to undergo an interview each time they enter the USA. That's ridiculous.

The years after Madison Square garden they continued touring the US and played bück dich again. But they changed the live performance a little bit for the US market ;)

The song isn't specifically about homosexuals, it is completely gender neutral. The performance just takes this form as they are all male and it adds more shock value. It is about purely sexuall relationships and the involved parties, and how they act. Bend over is both literal and metaphorical. It's about the power dynamics and expected feelings, or lack thereof, in some BDSM relationships. The song displays the emotional conflict by contrasting lines translatedable as: "Bend over! I don't Care about THE (instead of the more intimate and suitable 'your') face." (which dehumanises the submissive party from the view of our songs' protagonist) and "I start to cry" (which shows our protagonist isn't happy with the relationship, either doesn't like to abuse the partner or needs an emotional connection).
The song also doesn't stand only for BDSM relationships, but can be seen as a display of miscommunication in relationships in general.
Another interpretation would be similar to their Song " Ich tuh dir weh" ( translatable to "I hurt you") which seems to be about an abusive relationship, but is just a metaphor for selfharm.
If I remember their singer actually has a rather shy personality, and has had problems with selfharm in the past. Most of the blood you see in their official videos, and quite a lot you see in stage, is his own.
He is also known for the lovely poem collections He publishes. With this band it's never as simple as it seems.
If you'd like to know about their stance on homosexuality, I can recommend the official video to their song "Mann gegen Mann" (man versus man).

"Der" Zweibeiner is only refering to the grammatical gender (genus) of the word, not neccesarily the personal one (sexus). Because of your name I´m guessing that you´re german and that I don´t have to explain to you how genus and sexus in the german language work, or at least used to work 25 years ago

My favorite memory of this video is when My father, who already thought I was an "odd" child walked in on my friend and I watching this performance on VHS (yeah that log ago). I don't really remember what exactly he was walking in to tell me, I assume it had to do with the lawn, but I remember the build it like it was yesterday and it makes me laugh nearly 20 years later. He walked in and said..."Char...*stares for what feels like 7 years (was probably 3 seconds), then just slowly closes the door as he shook his head.
The song is about how the church, state, coorperations, all the powers that be, see us milling masses. Our faces do not matter as long as we bend over to worship and be buggered.

Oh man, I can't believe I'm just now discovering this priceless and very genuine reaction from Vin and Sori fam. I love you all and the community you've built. Good people. One thing though, don't lie to yourselves, you guys are amazing people and I wish more Christians on this Earth (heck more devout people of any religion in general) kept and open mind and heart like you guys, but...don't feel bad for enjoying the show and laughing at the shocking nature of this bit during this particular song.
When I was about to turn 15 I believe and lived in New Orleans I was lucky enough to check out the Family Values Tour at the UNO Lakefront Arena down there. I was so happy to see Rammstein on the bill along with other great acts with Korn headlining the tour and believe it or not Vin and Sori, but ICE CUBE was on that bill too and him, his crew, his stage theatrics and his kick ass DJ brought that place down. I feel truly blessed to hear Natural Born Killaz from the source itself not to mention Today Was A Good Day. With all that being said though, I was close to the front on the floor but far enough away from the stage to have my mouth drop open in shock when I saw this bit live and in person. When that huge "spray" started, only then I knew it was fake. :D Without warning, he starts "waving it" towards everyone near me and some got into my mouth. You know what is was? Believe it or not....beer. Good quality beer too. I believe it was either Beck's or Heineken. Definitely good tasting beer though and only a few drops of it entered my mouth but I remember when he "partook of it himself". I remember screaming as loud as I could something along the lines of, "Gimmie some more mother******!!!!" :D
Rammstein as a whole knows how to put on a first class show. The only thing that I wished was that I could've witnessed some of their world class pyrotechnics. Even though there was a great deal of fire, they were definitely not allowed to do what they probably had in mind and thus had far more restrictions in an indoor venue in the States then they have when they play to sold out crowds all over Europe. I'm at least glad that thanks to DVDs and the internet, even if it's not in person I can still bear witness to these talented artists and their wonderful shows! May they continue to do what they do for as long as they wish to! They, along with countless other artists, some even in different art forms have inspired me to strive to simply be myself, be proud of my own opinions and not be afraid to express them, have my own voice and most importantly on how to really "live" and a path to find my own slice of heaven in this world. In a lot of respects at the age of 36, sure, there are things still in my life that I'm not happy with. However, I have the ability to look past that and appreciate to very good aspects of this gift of a life I've been given and continue to strive to make for myself, my family and everyone around me a more interesting, random, but ultimately better place with mutual love and respect. Money can't buy you a mindset like that and it didn't happen overnight, but I do credit art and those in all art forms where I was challenged in some way or felt something as the building blocks to this mindset. May true art never be completely controlled, for it would cease to be art, and always a beautiful byproduct of our own humanity!

I remember Till and Flake doing that way back on the Family Values tour in the 90s . To be expected with Rammstein.
I was at this show. Family Values 98, Worcester MA. It was like the second or 3rd night of the tour. I had such a good time, they got in trouble for this part of the act soon after.
Saw this live in 1998 in Pittsburgh at Korn's Family Values tour. I was a freshman at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and this was my first big show after moving away from my sheltered small town life. I'll never, ever forget that night.

I had already watched the video, and when I saw they were doing a reaction to it,I knew I was going to laughing a lot. It's a great song. The performance wasn't really shocking. Till Lindemann has always been quite sexual in his videos. Marilyn Manson has done so in some of his live performances as well. To quote Rob Zombie : Art is not safe. No different from watching movies with nudity. Some people like to shock people on stage. Song is a 10 for me.
