I remember telling my dad a year or two ago that I wasnt gonna bother learning "percussion on guitar". I had tried it a few times before and convinced myself it was too hard and I'd never get there. I convinced myself I didnt want to learn because I thought I couldnt. As soon as I decided to sit down and give it a PROPER go, I blew myself away, as you often will when you break down barriers you once thought unbreakable. It was a real turning point in how I learn - not just with guitar Thanks for coming to my TED talk
No. 5 definitely hits home for me, especially when I was younger. Whenever I was able to somewhat decently play through a song I would always check a mental box that I've pretty much finished the song. However, I now realize that once you're able to piece the song together somewhat okay, that's when the real practice of the song starts and that's also the point where you start to make the music beautiful.
This really does work. I play piano and. Any time I had trouble with a piece I would break it up and slowed the metronome way down to where it was manageable to hit every note with no mistakes. Then eventually you’re able to speed it up incrementally. This was refreshing to hear because this is very accurate and helpful to those learning.
My biggest mistake is trying to play your arrangements too soon and never finishing them because I'm just not technically ready for it. Still good purchases tho I know I'll be able to play evil morty or howls moving castle properly some day ahah cheers from France ! see you next week
Yeah I’m doing too much reactive practice right now in front of youtube and it’s KILLING my gains ! 😄 I’ll definitely try to apply those principles as much as possible in the future, thanks for the advices, l dig these videos 🙌 Cheers
