Great breakdown of these devices! Some further notes: - On the Specular Tempus you can control all "real" labeled parameters on the pedal itself and need SpecLab only for the up to four "virtual" ones. - You can access ALL parameters of the Synesthesia on the pedal itself (SymmLab is completely optional). - Every knob on the Synesthesia can have up to four functions (turn, push, push & hold, push & twist). - The Synesthesia has a dedicated Reverb and Delay you can use standalone if need be. - You can save & share presets with other users. GFI pedals are among the best in the industry! I also run my MF with the same setup and that's literally all you need for it to sound massive! Great video and showcase, super inspiring as always. Fun fact: All hardware, algorithms and editors are designed & built by one person who is a freakin wizard at his craft: Henry Widaja who is also the founder of GFI System. He offers great technical support, too and responds super fast if you need any help. Great recommendation from my side :)
Thank you for this video - I am totally guilty of trying to make my synths work for me without help from external effects and this inspired me to start plugging my various synths into my pedals and experimenting today.
I've spend forever with the most complex additive/modulation/distortion synth techniques but occasionally i just sit down for an hour and send a low passed saw into a bunch of random massive del/verb chains. Achieving bliss can be just that simple!
A flock of birds Hovering above Just a flock of birds That's how you think of love... And I really love the Specular Tempus (especially the anti-shimmer)
Doppler is a hidden gem on this pedal. It really is completely different than anti-shimmer. It continually drops the pitch of the reverb and is most noticeable after you’ve released a note (that doesn’t have particularly long decay on its own). You’re gonna want to make a preset for it so you can always have access to it when unplugged from the software. 👌🏻
I bought a GFI Specular Tempus back when I couldn't afford a Strymon Timeline and Big Sky for my Roland JX-3P. Wish I kept it when I moved country. But, this month I started looking at the GFI Skylar + cheap digidelay to put with my Microfreak. Up to now has lived plugged into the Digitone chorus+delay+rev external FX. It's helpful to hear that kind of setup here, thanks! The digitone chorus sounds nice on the Microfreak btw. It often improves the uFreak patch.
You should check out Digitalis by Aberrant DSP! They just came out with it a few days ago, and it's like a Data Bender VST, but you can screw around with all of the parameters like repeats, pitch modulation, corruption, etc. My favorite feature is the sequencer, it's so cool!
@@GuidoGautsch I got it too, brilliant plugin! The sequencer is quite easy to use. You just assign a parameter to each tab, then use the knobs control the amount for each step.
First 01:15 of the video I couldn't focus, because of that thing on the right, tried to figure out what it is, where its cable was going etc.. What a f$#@ing loser I've been 🤣😅

Thank you.

I’ve used it here. It’s subtle but noticeable in this recording. It can be very extreme if you like. ruclips.net/video/CtR-2lCUd5w/видео.html
Such a good vid. As always. Thanks
