You can make smaller tubes by making flat panels and matressstitch Quick “How to knit I-cord and flat panel with your circular knitting machine” class.

Just make a flat panel of 24 stitches wide following the pattern. Join both sides and continue the assembling. 😉 See my easy peasy icord and flat panel workshop.
