It's so unfun to go back and replay. I tried replaying Ultima 1-3 last month. Ultima 1 was short and sweet. Ultima 2 was just painful till you get a ship. Then its just mindlessly using the ships cannons out of enemy attack range till you max out cash to upgrade stats. So much wasted potential with all the planets and dungeons you can go to with nothing of value. Spells are a waste cause they can only be used in dungeons, which you never have to go inside. Also the game seemed to have less enemy types than Ultima 1. Ultima 3 was pretty good, although the cash grind to max stats was a slog.
Ultima 3 lets you max out cash almost instantly once you have immunity from force fields. You can go rob the merchants in Devil Guard for max cash easily 30 minutes and you never have to grind again. The ratio of grind to game there was just right.
@@kyokusagani8869 No that's terrible. I only play honorably. So no killing townspeople, stealing. That was another bad thing about ultima 2, you literally have to kill town guards to get keys.
@@gyrz19 ah, If you were playing honorably in ultima 3, the first game it was possible to be an avatar in, The alternative was to generate placeholder characters and delete them for a while to max out your gold. That took a TINY bit more time, but it was still fast and consistent.
@@gyrz19 it might also be possible to sell legendary weapons to arm vendors against the oncoming tide of evil, I'd need to check, but the thought crossed my mind after my first comment!
