I've always heard other amazon FBA coaches/teachers say not to list on a listing that amazon is selling on. I'm curious as to why it doesn't bother you to sell on the same product listing as amazon?
It depends on HOW OFTEN Amazon wins the buy box… some listings they share the sales well, other listings they hog 99%. And when they go out of supply on a listing then the price typically jumps up.

Do most sellers who sell branded products do arbitrage?
Arbitrage or bundles. Be sure you have the rights to sell the branded products so you don’t get an ip violation!
