Mussoorie to Dehra Dun in 1990

Shot in 1990 with a full size VHS video camera. This is the first clip in a video shooting excursion with our family. It begins at our home 'Aotearoa' with a view of the Mussoorie ridge. From a stop near the Picture Palace bus stop, there are views of Mussoorie and Kincraig and of the Dehradun Road. Then there is the petrol pump in Kincraig, followed by the Toll Station when visitors to Mussoorie were still required to pay a tax in order to enter Mussoorie. The bougainvillea was along the Dehradun Road just above Rajpur.

We used to walk from rajpur to mussorie through jhari pani . And if you still remember those triangular roof roadways buses you have a great memory. Thank you sir . You gave us back the best mussorie we ever saw.

Wonderful,Mr Hamilton,the silence of the camera takes us back to the time of quiet sounds of the Nature,birds and colours of flowers and greens all in the air,no humans much ,hardly any machines ,all happy in others beautiful bonding and balance ,enjoying each other's company in smiling serenity.
Childhood memories,from doon ,lots of picnics in the woods and Mussoorie trips,few times on foot as children ,and then again with our little children!

I am from the Netherlands, with 2 of my friends in 1974 we visited Dehra Dun to meet with the family and friends of my Yoga teacher Shiv Kumar Harit who himself had left India a couple of years before and had moved to Amsterdam to start a new life...he used to be a police Inspector in Dehra Dun

Now 4 wheeler's running continuously and much crowded from ddn to mussoorie.

That flower band still gives the same vibes in 2022, now with pretty heavy traffic though. You can't even imagine standing in the middle of the road for so long to take a click there at any time of the day.

I could recollect my past life. Since my childhood it has been haunting me. I was murdered here at the ghat road of mussoorie. Thanks a lot for uploading the video. I was born in 1986, nevertheless, I was thrown into the valley by my colleague after getting down my jeep. It was drizzling then

Dehradun is no longer the same place it's greenary, beauty, clean environment everything has been crushed down.Being in dehradun is almost like being in delhi.All natural places have lost their peaceful and soothing environment.

@@orangekitty9634 sorry my dear towards dehradun to mussoorie lots of construction is going on and towards there to kampty fall lots of hotels have been opened. I love mussoorie I know lots of places where outsiders are not going n localities know about it. They always prefer to go there.
