Thank you so much for this video!! I'm usually too broke to buy my own skethbooks but I knew I had the materials to make one but I simply didn't know how to do it, HOWEVER this tutorial was fairly understandable and simple to follow along with. Again, thank you so much!!!
You don't know how much this helped me, I needed to make a book for a school project and I worked alone. I started looking for vids on how to make a book, and I stumbled upon this godly tutorial. God bless.
I did a simple stebbinding book back in the 90’s but couldennt for the life of me remember How I acompleshed it untill now. Thank you very much for your very informative video of the makeing of a Japionese notebook.
Me, my sisters, and my stepdad tried this, and it turned out GREAT! I keep record of the tributes for Hunger Games simulators in mine! Thank you for this tutorial! 😊
Years later, I'm here againto make another one. Thank you for this! Today I'm in the mood for a small size journal so I'll cut the paper in half and see what I'll end up with.
Thank you, it's the best tutorial I've ever seen, I also made the notebooks and then I started raining orders, now I look like a saleswoman, well, now I can do my k-pop journal, :)
I do not understand why people call this Japanese style book biding. This book binding skills came from China. Koreans and other Asian countries are doing same book binding.
【Wikipedia: Traditional Chinese bookbinding, also called stitched binding (Chinese: xian zhuang), is the method of bookbinding that the Chinese, Koreans, Japanese, and Vietnamese used before adopting the modern codex form.】 China is one of the earliest and main ancient civilizations. It is hard to deny that "Japanese style" was not adapted from China though Japanese may had developed a slightly different way of binding.
Wonderfully produced video of a very simple, beautiful, and elegant technique. If you would like to create a more tightly bound volume, you can replace the binder clips with two 2 inch spring clamps (Generally about a dollar each at a home depot or lowes) and two wooden rulers. They will hold the pages together very firmly and allow for tighter stitching over all.
Thank you for this tutorial! I tested it out with some of my favorite fanfics. I'm looking forward to making a custom notebook for one of my friends on her birthday!
Other people have said it all!! I live this video, the notebooks look super easy to make. And I think this will be the first diy notebook video that I will do , as in like the notebook, because its just sooo cool and looks easy to make! Thank you!
I used to do these to my previous year notebooks in childhood ❤ Punching entire leftover pages with nail was tough job for a 10 year old kid!! Memories 😢
This tutorial was really helpful because I love to sketch and write, but large notebooks and sketch books intimidate me. This is the third binding style I’ve used (I used the first style in the video) and it’s my favorite as it is less time consuming.
Easy ones! OMG I love it. You are so creative and you have a nice explanation which I could understand.Other bookbinding are so hard and gets ruined while yours do not.Thank you so much.😊😊
Lovely layout of the covers and binding stitch, very clear to follow step-by-step instructions. Thank you so much, though this means I need to collect my materials and start as soon as possible because this is such an exciting project!
Thank you so much! I like drawing comic books for my friends to give them as cards for special occasions, and this book binding method makes the end product look so pretty when you use ribbons as the thread! Im OBSESSED and this is the method I’ll be using to bind all the comic books I make them~
I make alot of fanfiction I read into books like these. Not to sell or anything. I just like having a physical copy of the things I'm reading. It's super fun. And it makes me realize how much I read. It's honestly getting ridiculous.
okay yay finally found someone else who reads fanfiction,,, anyway uhmmm so i wanna make a physical copy of all the young dudes and its super super super long,,,,,, so uhm how do you think i should split it up (526,969 words)
I really wanted to make this type of Notebooks using old notebooks by my on.. But didn't know how to bind it without that tool so gonna try this easier one :) :D
i added my own craft to the craft bc i didn't have the push pin thing or the thicc needle so like i used a regular needle to pierce the paper and then threaded a regular thread to my regular needle and tied it to the thicker thread thing to bind the thing lmao oh and the uh cover things were made out of the covers of an old notebook i had lying around. i'd say it looks pretty decent for sth made in the middle of the night while tripping balls yeehaw. thanks for the tutorial, fam
This is literally perfect. I wanted to make friendship books for me and my friends (we're about to graduate) but actual books are so expensive. I'll just do this instead! It even looks way cooler
Hi thankyou a lot... I used to have so many notebooks half written So i tore its blank pages and make a new unused notebook and which look pretty descent and binding looks pretty nice Thanks
This looks like it would work well with the double needle technique you use for sowing leather. Also, you might wanna cut recesses in the back for the threads to protect them, or they're gonna wear out and snap in no time.
You can also use an awl for making the holes if you plan on doing a lot of these kinds of craft projects and you don't want your fingers to get sore from using a tiny push pin over and over again. They can be very inexpensive. I mean, apparently you already have a bone folder, so having an awl as well is not exactly a leap.
Easily the best video in actually showing you how its done step by step. Thank you!
+iamTheEmperuh thank you so much for your kind words! :D

Tens toda razão ...
Eu acho que ela sabe muito e sabe melhor do que tu mesmo ela é tão inteligente mesmo é sabe muitooo...
Tip: keep an eraser underneath the place you want to insert the push pin, that'll make piercing through the paper much easier =)
YJ thanks

Chinese also do evenly placed punch holes.,dude. Made all your judgement based on one picture? Lol.
Lol I agree. I see these all the times in Chinese ancients dramas.

我算是看明白了,这些人看到日本有这个就是日本人的,那中国还有几个白宫呢?那是不是美国白宫也是中国的,还大小一样,针距不同,搞笑呢吧,查的是个什么鬼资料,笑话
