Gotta love this, and the Dystopian US from earlier. It's not gamey as in exploiting specific mechanics to min/max game-play. It's just "I wonder what happens if I do this?" Which is a bad idea in e.g. a nuclear powerplant, but great fun in videogames. Several thumbs up from this particular viewer.
This is 100x more entertaining than the usual min-max type player regardless, I myself ALWAYS have a roleplay in mind when playing a map game, and not doing that and instead min-maxing everything just feels wrong

1.8.3 Patchnote Fixed a bug where nationally owned buildings built in other nation's states did not grant the part of their balance going to reinvestments to anyone
I tried this multiple times after Sphere of Influence with Portugal because my boyfriend's Portuguese and the country (both in Vic 3 and in real life) is quite poor in industrial goods... What I built was basically the dream of the Quintó Imperio, with Portuguese in Lisboa and Estremadura owning all the plantations in Angola and Moçambique. With Marraquexe added on along the way. I loved it because the wealth of the land-owning imperial core in Portugal was extremely wealthy, with a SoL at the level of their great power neighbours, but the labourers in the periphery barely surviving. I really love that Vic 3 allows us to replay extractive colonialism
Not sure if its an intended bug, but the Dutch General dying on me the moment i start a war is something i made myself get used to. He dies 9 out 10 times when i start war, before the war starts.
I’d also say that when you vassalize people you should get a small percentage of the buildings especially if they have a ton of government owned buildings. This would simulate your takeover and make it to where you don’t have vassals who are actually dependent on you
@@amnord7607 I'm not sure but are you sure this a mod and not just a theme ? I think you can change the theme and it changes the colors of the ocean....
It would be amazing if Paradox would finally trust their playerbase with more agency and allow for shenanigans like (gasp) taxation sliders for that sweet 0% taxation or straight up giving away government owned buildings for a price player sets (like, a good round sum of 0 pounds) just to let us do silly stuff like in the video without having to jump through hoops.
Prussia just needs a liiitle help to beat Denmark. Give them some weights to liberate Schleswig-Holstein, and make mecklenburg a puppet… boom the AI can now form NGF
I honestly can't agree with you that this update is one of the better ones so far. Migration has been made totally whack, which was really obviously going to be an issue. Primary cultures will sometimes join minority movement uprisings, resulting in part of a country's own homelands can be lost to minority culture countries. Anarchist uprises are way OP, resulting in Japan always being divided into three countries, two of which are anarchists dynamic tags. These are only the bigger issues imo, there are plenty other things that need fixing.
Which begs the question why this wasn't caught and fixed beforehand. I've really had it with Paradox and there terrible QA by now. It really can't be that difficult to add two weeks of bug fixing to every DLC before they release them, especially not considering the prices they're asking.
anecdotally it's much easier to attract immigrants as a discriminatory country and it might even be good because it suppresses wages which makes pms more productive while reducing buy orders, literacy etc. I think that paradox have just been trying to make illiberal playstyles much more viable recently which gameplay wise I think is a very good thing.
Depends. Mainly on whether the historic period interest you in the first place, and whether you're a Vic2 player. It's a new game, and thus there's some fleshing out to do with new missions, local mechanics and so on. On the other hand, it's much more understandable than the predecessor, and you can actually play it without relying on constantly looking stuff up on the wiki. Personally, I never got into Vic2. Weird UI, and too much stuff going on under the surface. But I bloody love Vic3.
honestly, wait until they fix wars, otherwise, its still barely playable, every single nation plays the exact same, you always go for the exact same laws, you conquer the exact same states, until they can figure out a way to make civil wars / revolts into something not completely gamebreaking but still important to that nation, dont bother
@@vitormuchinelli6654 Eeehh....Maybe. Sorta. Kinda. You're right, there is a min/max formula that you can follow re. laws and technologies in order to get to a society we can recognize today. But you don't have to. In CK3 you can start a eugenics program from day one by searching for inheritable traits, and game the system. But you don't have to. In EU4 you can go directly for institutions, colonization, or westernization (depending on nation) to gain an advantage. But you don't have to. Even HOI4 has a meta build for fleets and armies. But again, you don't have to. At the risk of saying " You're playing it wrong", nobody is forcing you to create a society in Vic3 that you can recognize. You can easily create a theocratic slave state without it being 'wrong' Let's face it, there's no way to 'win' a Paradox game.
