ECW should of been used as a stand alone opposite product of what WWE offered. So Corp wouldnt of been a issues have a 'owner" setup on the books and use it as a sub contractor this way ECW could of still been edgy yet with great production
Rob, we met at your comic book store in Torrance back in the day, you made a blog post about you’d promise to be more in touch with your fans online and I’m happy to see you’re sharing your history with us on 1oaK - my favorite Wwf champion of all time - the whole F’N show! R V D!
I think ECW should've been what NXT is now. Yes, NXT was developmental. But it could've/should've been a completely different wrestling company than what WWE was offering. I could make a fantasy booking on how I would've booked it. But overall, it should've been a way more different product than what WWE was offering at the time. I think had it been that way, it's possible that NXT might not have happened.
Paul counting rvds win was so silly. I wanted rvd nerch but there wasnt any. I think the frogsplash in elimination chamber incident was a bad and dangerous spot to risky. Its like bronson reed spot at survovor series. When he nearly killed hhh i think that night ended his push .
If McMahon would've owned ECW and just left Paul to run the company, he couldve made the money, and still had a hardcore developmental territory to send wrestlers back and forth. ECW was the greatest.
The only good thing about the WWECW was RVD winning the title, when they took all the hardcore matches away an started the No Disqualification rule it went down hill fast
Honestly in the beginning i was for the WWE Version of ECW but you had to figure that they would have revamped it to what they thought it should be and that's exactly what they did . In the Beginning it started out as the Original Version but gradually it went the way of WWE putting things that never would have worked in the Original Version and any resmblance to the Orignal was gone within months . Wasn't surprised that Heyman was gone within months as were the Originals and by the time that they stopped doing the WWECW Dreamer was the only Original left . McMahon did what he wanted with the company as long as he made money with it . Never really cared about it . Was glad to see Heyman get inducted into the Hall Of Fame last year so in a way he got his credibilty for ECW and what it represented to the evolution of Wrestling and how it changed the business which it did whether people want to give it the credibility or not . ECW was a game changer for Wrestling . Plain and simple .
Rvd got treated badly by dirty vince. Its because they didnt invest properly. I remember thinking as i didnt see original ecw so it seemed so cheap directlly following smackdown
If they would have bought the building in Philly and just ran it out of that building and possibly made it a training camp, it would have made it. But then again, who knows!

It DEFINITELY could have & should have WORKED.
In Fact it DID! One Night Stand 1 & 2.
I remember being so excited when they brought it back on sci fi. Then I saw it…
Right

Most definitely.

In essence, they should have kept it home.
It was supposed to be at the small arenas but syfy didn't like the way the fans acted at the ppv
Psicologicaly speaking, the didn't want the ecw brand to overshadow raw and smackdown
Can you interview kottonmouth kings
I don't think vince wanted it to work
It was because syfy saw the ppv then made them water it down!
