    It's not the only "Big Boy". It's probably the longest steam engine ever made but it's not the heaviest. I saw the 4014 in Cheyenne years ago, It is very impressive up close.

      It's debatable as to whether or not the Allegheny is heavier than Big Boy. They weigh roughly the same, Big Boy is longer but Allegheny taller

      Big Boy ain’t even the longest steam engine ever built. That title goes to Pennsylvania Railroad 6100.

      The big boy is just the largest locomotive that was all around a success
      While some locomotives were longer or heavier or better at this one job or another, the big boy performed really well in all of the areas

      Pensilvania S1 duplex was longer.

    Union Pacific Big Boy is really incredible !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. It is very AMAZING 🤩 I would love 💕 to see it this year 2022. I wanna see it this year 2022 in Illinois that would be very awesome 😎. But Ed Dickens and his crew really did a good job of putting Big boy 4014 back together. And putting it back on the railroad tracks 🛤 I can’t wait to see it again for this year 2022.

    I always wondered why there are other coal fired locomotives like in Durango, and other places with high fire dangers seem to cause a problem with fires.

    • @FFred-us9tw
      @FFred-us9tw Год назад

      BigBoy is not coal fired. It burns oil.

    • @michaelramsey82

      The locomotives in Durango have now also been converted to run on oil.

      @Mike-01234: The Colorado narrow-gaugers were converted to run oil after it was discovered that they were setting fires (unintentionally, of course). . .

      For the running of the Union Pacific 4014, 3985 and 844, they put schedules along with a GPS tracker. Just search UP Steam.
