Beautiful teachings. I have a couple of additional points to be considered when self healing.
Sister talks in a simple language because she wants to encourage us and wants to show how futile these problems really are. However, please take care to not judge yourself for not being able to share the same simplicity as her.
It takes time, discipline, consistency and many fall backs to keep building this muscle of good karma...you get to decide your speed - just be consistent.
Do not burden yourself with more guilt and shame if you're not able to do it AL at once.

When you create an affirmative thought for a bitter relationship, should you change your actions also towards that person? And if he or she does not respond to those positive actions, how long do you keep acting accordingly?

Be consistent with your positive affirmations. As sister said, miracles doesn't take place in 2/3 days it takes time but it will but for results to be sooner you need to detach yourself and stay consistent with thoughts. You said, they are not responding to your thoughts, this is also a negative approach from your side. You don't have to think about it just stay positive and keep saying "my relationship is perfect and is completely healed" it takes time but is worth it :)
