Your channel is SO interesting !! The sewing aspect is interesting of course but in general maybe your videos are so fun because it feels like you are not just *posing* and that your main focus is to create *real* content (and not vanity disguised under the label of "content"). Also, the sewing videos on RUclips usually make the process look complex until I do it and it turns out easy. But YOUR videos and explanations have thought me so much on how to built garments and adjust patterns, etc that now it looks less intimidating for me. Maybe it's the angles you use and the fact that you don't randomly skip steps, but your process certainly shows high intelligence. 💯
This is the best comment, thank you so much - I am glad you enjoy my videos and find them useful and encouraging. It's the biggest reward.
That coral is amazing for you! Are you a bright spring in your colour analysis? ☀️
Thank you! I haven't had a professional analysis but my best guess so far is that I am an autumn with winter undertones, which gives me a very broad range. I didn't know this dynamic existed until a few months ago, but it was really an eye opener for me!
I would be really interested in a review of what you're still wearing out of what you made last year, and what you've taken out of your wardrobe.
I find it so useful to critically analyse why some garments become wardrobe champions and others don't get any love, and I try to implement the lessons learnt into my future makes. As you said, there is a lot of trial and error involved in this craft, so they can't all be wins, but I think taking an analytical approach can be really illuminating.
I'd love to see you talk about that, and see if you find it helps you to improve your hit rate.
Very good idea - I might even do a full 4-years of RUclips sewing review 🤔 Might be a long video but I can approach it in a more analytical way and do a matrix... I am getting ideas haha
I am absolutely here for seeing active wear!! I’ve always wanted to learn and if you made your own patterns! SOLD. Take 👏my👏 money 👏
Haha duly noted!
The way you talked about the expression of sewing and creating as a form of art makes so much sense. I appreciate your realness about that.. sometimes people ask me if I've saved money sewing but the effort and hours I put in, as well as fabric costs.. when you add it all up then you start to view it differently. It's passion! Alsooo weird to hear you went down with the lurgy on NYE - I picked up something that exact night too and it knocked me around for WEEKS. Glad you're on the other side of it now (me too) and I look forward to the journey this year. You've definitely earned that 4th Sunday to yourself!
Glad it resonates ❤️ It's time consuming, physically demanding, and expensive, but we love it! 🤭 YES lots of people were down this Jan - hoping for no more flu's at least until November!
Happy to see you again Elisa,
yes for the button up shirt, yes for trousers, yes for the Austrian dress, looking forward to all of that.
Thank you, glad to be back ❤️
The video felt so warm and cozy as if I am listening to my friend speak❤.
Oh that's great, I am glad you enjoyed it ❤️
Love all of those ideas ✂️✂️
✨🪡
I love the new branding, Elisa! And really really appreciate you talking about the sustainability element, making so many garments and not wearing them. I always wonder this about "sewing influencers" who are making several new garments each week - like what do you do with them all?! It's something I struggle with a lot too, I looove sewing and fashion design but don't need a million things in my wardrobe.
Also SO excited to see more variation in your shop, I love your designs so much but don't wear a lot of dresses 😅so trousers and a coat would be incredible
Yay, I am glad you do ❤️ It's a fine line to walk when you are capable of making your own clothes - the moment anything is possible is also the moment to learn restraint haha
Thank you for all of your sewing videos!! Watching you sew makes it easier to see the construction of garment, so yesterday ive made my first ever dress (its pretty bad but im proud)! I really enjoy your content, if I could wish for just one thing that would be to show us more of pattern drafting some of your styles, I hope I will be at your sewing level someday❤
Thank you, glad you find them helpful! And point taken, but also have a look at my older content: I have quite a few pattern drafting videos online 🪡
I love all the ideas and possible patterns you mentioned! Especially excited for the button up, pants, coat and dirndl inspired dress. I don't know what kind of second-hand shops you have there, but I love seeing people take items and use the fabric to create something new. That would be fun to see you do!
Very cool idea! I have something in mind for recycling old jeans but will have to put some more thought into it. Stay tuned!
YES!!! I am so excited for trousers, dirndl and jacket/coat!!
I’m challenging myself to make a coat this year too and while the pieces are currently cut out, I’m so nervous to start putting it together 😬
Also really can’t wait to see what style dirndl you create. I have similar Pinterest pins so very keen to see how you create a modern interpretation
Amazing, glad you’re excited. And do it! I am sure the coat will turn out amazing 👏🪡
Yes!! Long coat!! I’m here for it!
Glad to hear it!
I will be there for the wrap dress !!! :)
Yay! Thank you!
Ooh, I am excited for the dirndl and coat patterns! I bet they will look amazing!
Me too, will be a big adventure ☺️
Lovely to nice you and looking forward to your content this year! Non-dress patterns would be fun to see, although a dirndl would also be- it would be useful if it could also be layered over tops 😊
Glad to hear it, and Dirndl are supposed to be layered, so yes to that ☺️
Glad you’re back! One way I make my sewing more sustainable is by up cycling any of the things I’m not wearing or am not super happy with. It takes a little more effort and sometimes you’ve gotta get creative, but it can be really rewarding. I recently made a jacket out of two pairs of trousers that I’d originally sewn as muslins
That's a great idea! Will be thinking about repurposing old projects more.
I´m happy to hear you are back with your content, I liked a lot the movies inspiration! I can´t believe with the whole content you put here, and for free, you should have a lot more subscribers for sure, I recommend your channel for my friends who sew also! About the patterns, do you already heard about a software called Valentina? It´s for pattern making and a free software...Not sure if it´s easy to use or not, and there´s not much tutorials around also...:( Keep going with the content! Greetings from Brazil!
Thank you, I really appreciate it ❤️ No haven't heard of the software, but will check it out!
This year I’m banning buying new fabrics (new or thrifted) until I use at least 50% of my fabric stash. I keep putting off using the fabric because I can’t make up my mind what to make with the fabrics. So I’m forcing myself to decide and make things.
That's a great idea! That's why I do my regular de-stashings and those really helped to reduce the fabrics in my storage. I didn't buy any while I was away over Christmas and while I was sick - but it wouldn't harm to extend the hiatus haha
So excited for all the plans you have for this year 🔥
Glad to hear it! Can’t wait to get started! ✨
aw i'm sorry to hear you were so ill - but good for you, taking a REAL break! you really do power through throughout the year, i think, so a bit of a retreat to figure things out and maybe put some priorities and schedules in place :) good habits are good habits to have LOL
we also love VLOGS, you know? if you're eager to create content, you can also do vlogs, that might take some "pressure" off deadlines.
i love the new logo!
and i laughed SO HARD when you said you don't wear all the things you made. OBVIOUSLY lol like - you made so many things, and some were experiments and such...
the wrap dress is something everybody apparently is super pumped for, while i kind of don't really fancy it LOL wrap dresses are hard, and busty girls can't really wear them, so... take your time haha
are dirndl's german or austrian? obviously (like any german) i thought it's something german, but maybe all the austrians think it's something austrian? ...which is it? :D
Thank you Sarah! I'll do my best to try and convert these new tricks (supplements, good food, workouts) into actual habits.
Glad you like the logo!
And to the Dirndl question: It's definitely spread across a lot of the German-speaking parts of Europe as well as Eastern Europe (different versions though) and I am sure they all claim that it originated with them haha
I was JUST going to start my Chanel set. But have not came accross any good pattern for that. And making my own is pushing me into the procrastiating mode 😉 I am looking forward for yor tutorial then, because probably your pattern will not be my size. Take care! ❤
Serendipity! :)
Finally Dirndl! ❤
❤️
Good to see you back! Stay healthy 😊
Thank you, I will ☺️
Your Jackie dress is my favorite thing I’ve ever made and I keep making versions of it! I’m currently working on a mockup of the Amelia dress 😊
Ohhh thank you, I‘m glad you enjoy it so much ☺️ Hope you’ll like the Amelia too!
Sorry you were so sick. My husband and I were also deathly sick with a virus since Xmas. It’s taken until the beginning of February to feel well enough to get back into a routine. So excited for the wrap dress!
Oh wow! It's such a pain when that happens - glad you feel better now. And glad you are excited about the wrap dress!
Welcome back 🥰❤ Is it true The Vampires Wife is no longer in business selling their dresses?! I’m so glad I have your pattern and can make my own similar to it.
Yes it is sadly! A true loss for the fashion world. Glad you got the Amelia dress!
You got a new subscriber 🙂 Great plans for 2025! When you mentioned Dirndl, you had me 😄 we also wear them in Germany. It's not just Austrian. Looking forward to your capsule wardrobe for Italy as well! I also plan to go there during summer 🙂
Yay, thank you for that! 💓 Haha I'm glad the Dirndl got your vote, and yes, absolutely - it's widely popular across all German-speaking parts of Europe!
Hey giiiirl, I was getting a tad worried about you ngl
Glad you’re feeling a bit better now!
Glad I am, too! A silly old flu won't take me out (only temporarily haha)
Welcome back, thx 4 sharing. Glad U've upped Ur self care:) The drindle soon interests me:)) I'm subscribed, come on, join us!
I
Thank you, appreciate that, and glad you're into the Dirndl idea!
You and Kachi could have a dirndl-off
Haha I can't compete with her intricate Dirndl-knowledge and skill. I will do my best!
@@ThrillsandStitches Perhaps perhaps, but I’m sure yours will be lovely still!
@@ThrillsandStitches I’m just a slut for collabs 😇
