I know a 7 foot, 240 lb hs senior that tried the XXs in practice and said not enough lockdown and ankle containment. Went right back to his KD 14s. Likes the XXs for casual wear though.
“Ankle containment” on a basketball shoe will not save your ankles at all. If you have weak ankles you will keep rolling them.
There’s really no such thing as ankle support in a basketball shoe unless there’s a ankle brace built in or something lol.
Would be a better comparison between 19 low and the 20 imo.
The lebron 19 is not that bad of a shoe the only bad thing is its heavy but it's a great shoe in my opinion

Cushion when it isn't popped is good on the 19s. Traction is there but if you stop hard like I've done you slide. If you jump a lot and want really good cushion for a drive 19s. I have yet to try the 20z
The 19s were on sale for less than 120 a while ago and I regret buying them. Definitely, not as good as the GT Jumps. The moment the floor was too dusty or you step on a drop of sweat you start sliding.

Yeah it's unfair to judge a flagship model that's usually a Mid against A new flagship model that's a low.
Makes sense being the natural number progression of the shoe to compare 19 vs 20. Plus more clicks for doin a video vs the low as well

Nah, if a shoe has a good bite, but bad containment you’ll skip out of the shoe bed. Very noticeable

Why don't reviewers just play outside instead of guessing how the shoes will hold up outdoors? Yes, they are expensive shoes... But you're playing in them anyway. Just saying.
They would need to get two pairs, so that you have a fair test with a brand new pair. You also gotta like playing outdoor, have a place you can regularly play, and have people to play with for a thorough review.

If Lebron would have won a championship in the 19 then people would be saying nice stuff about them!!! them 20's are an example of how nike is stealing and getting away with theft by giving a shoe with no special tech in them. It's shoes with more tech in them that the Lebron 20. nike was stealing with them kobe's too!!!!!
The Lebron 19 is just an objectively bad shoe. Way overpriced (so are the 20s), stupidly heavy, and bad traction.

Tagging on the comments bout the 19 lows, I had no troubles with the grip, floor wasn't that clean and still had a decent bite (very decent).. so i feel that this is a little off (the review of the traction).

I have two indoor court sessions into the 20's, and my heel lifts no matter how tight I tie them. The constant heel lift made my Achilles really sore. When trying them on at Footlocker the heel lock felt good...but lifted on court. Anyone else have this issue on court? Any better after break-in?
It’s definitely better after breaking it in, but that will probably be a problem no matter how much you wear it in
