No problem with the time you are taking to explain the content we are always learning something new in your videos. kindly make a video on how to use gsm module in tia portal if possible sir..
New sub here! GREAT explanations! I learned with both at University but I never did understand why we used both or either. I was adding it to my CV and needed to categorise applications and realised I did not know the differences technically but I knew it intuitively.
Philip, please tell me about the 18th version of the Tia Portal. Is it still raw and buggy, or is it usable already? Or is it still better to use version 17?
this is soooo professional, do you think if a program was built with simatic could be read lately with tia portal? i have a recent software on s7 300 that has an sf and bf error leds lit, is TIA portal usefull in this case or it just doesn't matter?
Hello! I am new here. I was hoping to find some programming examples using step7 simatic manager written with charts and function block diagrams. Do you have anything like this. Also TIA portal is so much easier and more powerful in my opinion.
Some of the basic stortcuts in simatic manager are either implemented differently (go to next/previous address usage) or non-existent (function network list) that could be simply implemented. Plus the cross reference is no where near as good in TIA. This is my own experience between v5.6 vs v15.1. Siemens needs to have development people who like to bring the strength of simatic manager to TIA.
Since you are at this topic with different programs and versions right now: Could you make a video about the siemens version jungle and all the different simatic/ simotion/ sinamics programs from siemens? like whats the differenc between step 7 5.7 und step 7 professional 2021, step 7 v17 basic vs. professional, wincc Basic/Comfort/Advanced/Professional, safety basic/ advanced, sinamics startdrive basic vs. advanced vs old simotion scout (like, can i program simotion controllers with sinamics startdrive in tia?), sinamics dcc, simotion scout standalone vs. tia etc. pp. I have been working with siemens for years now, yet I still dont understand what this is all about. My current strategy is to download the basic stuff like step 7, wincc and startdrive and when some project wont open on my PC I ask a collegue what I should install. But thats not a very satisfying solution to me
hello sir.i enjoy you channel. thank you sir. please can you make a video explanning on the objetif and the advantage of migrating from STEP-7 V5.5 TO TIA . THANK YOU
You prolly dont care but does anybody know of a method to log back into an instagram account? I somehow lost my password. I would appreciate any help you can give me
Hi guys. My contractor started my project in tia portal with 700 ios. now we have to expand the project to 2000 ios. The contractor tells me that they have to rewrite program in PCS7 from scratch coz tia portal has 2000 ios limitation... sounds strange
So even tho you can, it isn't really a good thing to upgrade an old machine let's say s314 plc to Tia portal if all it does is execute a somewhat simple machine by itself.
I would say the key differences in practice are: TIA Portal doesn't allow you partial download (when you download, all changes need to be downloaded), in TIA Portal source and a block are the same thing and finally (and blessedly) the CFC died with old Step 7. TIA is more "idiot proof", it forgives you a lot of mistakes. Whichever one you get used to first will be your favorite. Please don't be a dumb fanboy, these are just development tools, if you use them enough, you will hate both of them
And a holy war started! 😂. Step7 have CFC support, what about Tia portal ? And 400H not the same 1500H :) You are comparing 2 different controllers that don't even stand next to each other, and here's one big and fat argument s7 fault tolerant connection support by 400H. S71500 It may be good for pumps, but not for continuous process control, such as turbines. I put + for the material, because I see that the author has done a great job, but did not delve into the nuances, but only superficially sanctified the topic
I like this channel. It's interesting. I learnt something new.. performant. Sometimes I feel the English Language is still in Industry 3.0...I hope the Brexit is permanent.😁. SIMATIC Manager you have to leave your building and cross the street to get some tasks done.
lol, i agree, at some points they complicated it too much. Menus is up in your window, down, left, right, and if you open one menu it opens another one which opens a new window and suddenly you need 3 screens to see. FBs, FCs OBs, diff DBs, and some DBs that opens under "system program" or something. Simply: the tool is still not compact and need to be simplified.
STEP7 vs TIA = "Easy Controller Programming" vs "Easier Controller Programming"
well some say STEP is "Steuerungen einfach programmieren" and TIA means "Total im Arsch" (thats absolutely broken in english)

@hegamurl your the best instructor I have ever seen on RUclips.
Thanks Hega, the more i look at your teaching videos the more i am persuade to learn more and i have recommended your channel to few friends.

i use Both simatic manager and TIA portal ,and in the beginning of TIA it has strange but now i prefer TIA to the simatic manager, is the future
I always had this question in mind. Thanks a lot for the explanation.
Thank You! Very Helpful for learning! You BEST!
what do you recommend us to learn first ???
Definitely TIA Portal. SIMATIC Manager is going to be obsolete pretty soon
New sub here! GREAT explanations! I learned with both at University but I never did understand why we used both or either. I was adding it to my CV and needed to categorise applications and realised I did not know the differences technically but I knew it intuitively.

Thank you so much for the Clarification. Very educative

Vielen Dank , wie immer Wunderbar

Why the system functions have no id's in TIA?

Helo, Please tell me the software version to use for very old siemens CPU like this model: 6ES7315-2AF01-0AB0
"You need stronger PC for this" - definitely I do.......
Tell me about it, got 3.88 GB RAM available..
Thanks.
That clarifies it.

thank you for this kindness vedeo
Well done
you have my you had my heart at 32 gb ram 😅😅😅
thanks Mr
Hello,
Step 7 looks more prehistoric :)
I hate these address above variables.
Tia look more like objective programming.
And that was one of the goals of TIA Portal!
Yeah, I also dislike the looks in Simatic Manager... but it did the job
Thanks
Nice!
Really are you great.

SIMATIC Manager you have to leave your building and cross the street to get some tasks done.
TIA is more powerful
my experience with tia protal - it's a piece of shit. you need to save your project after change because this shit goes crash every time.
Using V14 or newer it has become quite stable... V16 has not crashed for me once... The earlier version were shit though
TIA Portal = Totally Idiotic Automation Portal
