Still touches me 47 years after first hearing it, but love all their music. City Boy were so underrated. Saw them live a couple of times and treasure the memories.
Even though I love City Boy I only discovered this song a couple of weeks ago. Listening to it over and over and over. What a beautiful song. Also love Beth.
So many bands deserve their place on the "most underrated band of all time" list. City Boy sits atop that list. Brilliant band on record and live as well.
I found this album in my brother's collection - warped pretty badly. I can still see the tonearm struggling up and down, as it played this beautiful song and the others on the LP. I still have that warped album, but haven't played it in years. Thanks for posting this - it brings back memories.
It's surprising to me that this song was never covered by another artist. It has an incredible melody and harmonic structure. I could imagine so many other artist's doing this. One of the most underrated tracks from the seventies. It's right up there with any of the best songs from Dan Fogelberg, Peter Frampton, CSN, America and so many others from that time period.
I used to listen to this song quite a bit around ten years ago or so. I just got this on my RUclips feed today and then I had completely forgot about it. Wow, how could I have forgotten about this song? I always loved it. In fact, I fell in love with it when I first heard it. I first heard this song on a radio station one early Saturday morning by a guest DJ who played rare songs. The only weird thing about this song is from 3:55 on. Even that DJ remarked that it was weird. But still very lovable.
Music as it should be. Gorgeous song by a sadly underappreciated band. We could all use a few similar bands like City Boy, Crack The Sky, Camel and others
I'm so happy to know that so many people out there Love this song and this Group as much as I do! I first heard the whole album when it was played , new, over WIBA FM in Madison WI 75 76 ? exact date eludes me at the moment. Fell in love with a fantastic group.
So Amazing was City Boy SOOO wish I could turn on the radio and this and many other C.B. tunes would come out . Such a shame they never got to be well known. But their fans are a truly loyal and intelligent bunch, to have recognized true talent.. In my heart and mind though not truly recognized City Boy is the greatest Rock and Roll band ever Love the Stones but move over Mick!!
*one of the most beautiful songs in the history of music* 🐁🐈 you know it's so right, to hear this song all day and all night 👂😻 you know it's so right, so you hear it non-stop right now 🎶🔂 it's not very bright, to turn it off as you leave this site 🔇🖱️ it's not very bright, but before you leave you bow 🙏🙇♂️
I've always thought this is one of the most beautiful songs ever written. I'm a huge City Boy fan and bought this album when if first came out when I was in high school..

I remember City Boy on tour with Hall & Oates in Charleston South Carolina 1978. I meant city boy on my job downtown Charleston and one of the band members gave me backstage tickets to Hall Oates. Hung out for 3 days with one of the band members while they were in town. Kept their album for years. It was a good time
They opened in Portland Maine for Nazareth in 1976 or 7. Nazareth was nearly unlistenable but this band was so very good. I went for them and left fifteen minutes into Naz's set.
Hey, Edward! I am the official keeper of the diaries that list every single gig that we played and I can only find ONE in Portland, ME which was at The Loft on 10/27/77 and simulcast over WBLM. There is no record of us having supported Nazareth at that gig!
I travel to St Petersburg Florida to see city boy and it was the most fantastic concert I have ever seen I left early because they were not headliners but I sure enjoyed the music I love the song hey making time

City Boy was THE shining light in a dull, dismal & depressing 1970's Birmingham. I'm forever grateful for the great music.

It's been decades since I last heard this song. It brought tears to my eyes. So much time gone.
I thought I was the only one who knew about this epic band. And I selfishly wanted to keep it for myself.☺
