All over the world, women have shaved their heads for many cultural and ceremonial reasons, but in America it's a taboo appearance. When Akyli asked for a new haircut before her birthday, she understood that cutting her hair short does not detract from her gender nor her beauty.

My mum freaked when I coloured it at 17 years old.
When I left home I got it all cut off. Freedom.
When you got a lot of hair and its thick too, having that weight taken out is soooooo nice!
