I own one of these. They suffer from balance on the J4 terminals. This is due to stray capacitance between the top of L1 and the top of L3. Bottom of L3 is at ground potential which also makes things worse. (J3 is fine because it's a Low-Z output) Add a 1:1 current balun to the balanced feedline if you require good balance on a high-Z feed at the shack. RF from the feedline is not necessarily a bad thing as it will fill in some nulls, but if you have RFI or a hot mic I would recommend the balun. 73
Hi Dee Thank you for sharing this video - glad you like it. I am in Dominica now operating as J79WW and have to leave for home tomorrow. Been lots of fun - 18 years my wife and I have been coming here doing mission work for our "Foundation for Amateur International Radio Servce" (FAIRS) www.fairs.org 73 Dave www.kk4ww.com
voice is on left sound channel, music on right channel. So, if someone uses only the right channel of the sound card, he can not hear your voice, hihihi.

Have a great trip! Would be great to see a followup explaining these components at more educational level.
Dee Wells Good idea - I will try to do this as video or post at www.microcomputermuseum.com Dave
Hi I don't have that problem at my end. Don't know what it could be -- do other videos work OK ? Dave KK4WW
