Love Franziskanser. Top tip, leave a small amount in the bottle at the end of the pour and swirl it to get the yeast and bits in the bottle and top up the glass. Gives it a little more flavour.
@@TheBierHooligan and that's your opinion, I'll stick to the franciskarner because in my opinion it's the best I've ever tried, like i said everyone is different and I'm glad you enjoy the weihenstephaner which is a nice drink.
Drinking it for the first time in years. Very heavily carbonated and dry. I smell banana and bread on the front. Very dry and I hear it is very wheat heavy on the grain bill with a slight banana and slight citric notes. Easy drinking, no bitterness at all. Very thirst quenching like you said and not he best but certainly good enough. I find it more palate cleansing than some of my favorite wheats that you like. Given the carbonation And dryness I can see why this style put me off for a while. This wheat was the standard for us cutting our teeth in the mid 90s on beer. I never even remember seeing Weihenstephaner back then but we got loads of other German beers we don’t see much anymore. This beer was common at any supermarket that was good. There was also the dark and Kristall too. Thanks INBev for taking those off the market. We
Ronald, in New Orleans area it used to be easy to find a good selection of German beer at Dorignacs and bars around the city. Unfortunately Louisiana has been taken over like most of the country by mediocre craft.

Bought some on offer from Tesco, very enjoyable stuff. I prefer it to Erdinger weissbier. Alas I don't currently have a wheat beer glass but will invest in one.
@@TheBierHooligan I've just been looking for weihenstephaner. Thanks for the tip. Apart from sainsburys it'd hard to find except online at extortionate prices.
Just seen it in my local co op ,but after seeing a few reviews and taking ur expertise into account, I wont bother ,as I like the weihenstephaner Weissbier dunkel ..and this dont seem to be a special beer ,dont wanna waste my time with it ..another great review anyway
I love sitting and drinking the same beer as he reviews it. Opens up New flavour I find! Keep it up

This is my go to heff here in the states, perfect in the style and very reasonable priced, always available
Great review of a great beer! I love this beer. I didn’t know that about the wheat beer glass, thanks! I’m going to get one!
Just tried this there’s a lot of flavour there, I’m new to weissbier but I like it, I’ll be giving the Weihenstephaner a go definitely.
Liked this beer very refreshing after my work out....probably cancelled out the workout but as you always say beer is the answer.
The best of the lot for me top weissbier
@@TheBierHooligan only my opinion, everyone has different taste, and just because it's the oldest brewery in the world doesn't mean it's the best.

Glad you liked it!
We can still find this, here and there, in Louisiana, but ten years ago, it was somewhat common. It's an okay product, to me.

Decent review, probably my 2nd favourite after weienstephaner (sp) sometimes prefer it. Easy to get hold of now it's pretty much everywhere
Just loaded some in the perfectdraft. What’s the optimal temperature for this?

Also now brewed in Harbin in the North of China for the Chinese market where German weissbier is very popular an+ widely available.
I have heard this one is over 70% wheat malt.

Weihenstephaner which is sold in Sainsbury's is the best one and from the oldest brewery in the world.
