This is great! There are so many MG graphic novels coming out that it's hard to sift through them during a visit to the library. Thanks so much for this!
When I was in middle school, my dad revealed that he's afraid of water. My little brother and I had no idea. Looking back, he had only gone in when we were really little. Once he knew we wouldn't drown, he would take us to the pool and sit on the side, and eventually he stopped doing even that. He didn't want us to inherit his fear, so he pushed it down until we had enough of our own experience that his wouldn't affect us. Definitely need to check out Swim Team!
WOW!, 1000 subs already?!?!? That was fast! CONGRATS!!!!👍👍 All these titles sound sooooo good.... I'm sure I'll be bringing home more than a couple of them soon! And, yes, I'd love to see more recommendation videos like this one!
Love these recs. I just found a lot to add to my classroom when I can! One of my middle schoolers read into the heartlands over and over and over during our SSR time, it was so sweet 😭😭😭
So excited for this video. I'm always on the look out for middle grade novels that might be good for the older readers in my school so we can add them to the school library. 😍
Ahhh I’m so excited you made this video! I love middle grade graphic novels!! They’re one of the collections I order for at work and I always end up checking them out after they come in haha. A couple that I particularly love are Stepping Stones by Lucy Knisley and Pilu of the Woods by Mai K Nguyen. There are just so many good ones out there and new ones constantly being published!
I just finished an excellent MG graphic novel, The Deep and Dark Blue by Niki Smith. It combines fantasy intrigue with a journey of trans self-discovery. The art is gorgeous, especially the colours. I haven't read Smaller Sister yet, but I did watch an interesting author panel with Maggie Edkins Willis, on TorontoComics, the official RUclips channel of the Toronto Comic Arts Festival. Since 2020, a lot more of TCAF's programming has been available online, though I don't if that includes any of their librarian-specific stuff.
I’d love a manga recs for middle graders video at some point… I am very new to manga & altogether know less about the series than I do about books or graphic novels, and they’re so long I struggle to know what is appropriate. But my kids LOVE them! And I only have like 2 series :/
Your videos about middle grade books always lead me to books that help heal my inner child❤
❤️❤️❤️
Books like this are why I think it’s so important for adults to read middle grade and even childrens books, you don’t realize how much you learn
Exactly!!!!
