Picked mine up yesterday. The stock shaft was fine, but got some better spin numbers when I put the new Fujikura Speeder Pro shaft in. The black comes in more of a matte finish and comes with a special edition headcover and all black grip for a pretty awesome look. The headcover is also a flat color with a kind of suede vs the shined leather and gold cobra logos inside the cover, real sharp.
Just bought one yesterday £160,love it. It proved that it's my swing that needs tweaking not my clubs.🤔 Does everyone think they will get better if they get new clubs?
Got some good numbers with the cobra. I think its the best looking driver of 2015. Be good to see you hit it out on the course in a vlog mate. or maybe a best of the best low spin dive off.
I'd love to see a driver shootout between the Nike Vapor Pro vs. Cobra Z-Fly+. If I had to pick a 3rd it would be the 915D3. In the comparison I'd like to see the LM numbers, but also impressions on the feel of each. These seem to be the best performing options of 2015. G30 LS Tec would be in there as well but I'm less interested in that driver due to the larger head shape from address.
Hi Rick, have watched the Titleist, callaway,Nike and TaylorMade reviews of all the 2015 driver and the Cobra fly+ for me seems the best adjustable and lowest spin, so have ordered one in orange, will be sorry to trade my amp cell x flex but spin too high . Thanks for the super reviews .
Some great hits by both clubs Rick. I have been hitting a Nike Vapor Fly and love it. When I have been in the store I have tested the new Cobras F6 series and the older Fly Z series. I could not tell a difference in distance between the two series. I had a chance to buy a used Cobra Fly Z in great shape. I went to the range and compared my old Taylormade R9, the Nike Vapor Fly and the Fly Z. First, when I hit the R9 well it was not that much shorter than the other two. The Nike was more consistent - at least at first until I got used to the larger head. Once I did the Fly Z flew the farthest and went the highest. The loft was set at 10.5 like the Nike. I think that it may fly higher because of the.position of the weight so I may try it at a 9.5 degrees setting to see how it performs. I love the feel of the Fly Z though. More than my other two drivers.
I hit the F6 and F6+. Great clubs, but their price tags were a bit high. I just picked up last year's Fly Z driver for less than half of the price. I just have to get out and hit it now. I have 30 days to test this driver and return it if need be. We'll see how it goes.
Rick, great video. I'm looking forward to a driver shootout for 2015. Kind of like the old ones you did: alternating shot match-ups between two drivers where the winner goes forward to the next match. My money is on the Fly Z+ vs. G30 LSTec for the finalists.
Nice review rick. Im a 24hcp who doesn't play as much as I should but I love cobra gear. I use the s3 irons and the s3 max woods and love them. My technique lets them down though lol
Hi Rick, have you make a comparison between Fly-Z with the Nike Vapor Fly? i would like to know your opinion on this.. with some supporting data as usual...
Hey Rick, great video has always. Unfortunately, most of us do NOT swing over 100 mph. What would your sidekick Rob do with the Cobra drivers?? Can you make that happen?
Great review,,,,BUT you did not mention that the Fly Z numbers were the same as the Fly Z+ Weight Back. This saya a lot about the Cobra quality. I have a Bio Cell and just picked up the Fly Z+. My plan is to compare the weight back position versus the Bio Cell.
Great video Rick. I currently use the bio cell plus with x and it is amazing with low spin and get about 300 yards - can cobra top that driver with this ? Be a interesting comparison.
Hi Rick. Excellent videos. How did you feel about the performance of the Matrix VLCT SP stock shaft? I was surprised you didn't go with the ST version of that shaft. Any reasons? Id be curious to see the numbers. Cheers
First time I have watched your videos and was very impressed! I will deffo try out the Fly Z+, I use a Cobra ZL with motore f3 reg which goes great for me ( 63 and 5hcp). Cheers...
Mine started to rattle inside after a few months and it lost 10% distance. Cobra replaced it for me at no cost and the second was better than the first ever was.
Compared the Fly Z and Fly Z + myself. BOTH are great feeling and LONG. Almost 15 yds for me. I think the stock shafts in the Z+ are real shafts. I swing 91-94 so almost a stiff but for me the stiff is a bit too much. The Reg I can work and still get good distance. I thought I was going to put a 915 in the bag but this is 10 yards longer. Really.
Hey Rick, Big fan and love all the Vids. I'm fairly new to golf and am playing off around a 20 handicap and am looking to replace my driver. I have a SLDR, however its lofted 14 degrees. Would you suggest the cobra or maybe a nike? Cheers Mate
Hey Rick, great reviews! For the first time I'm considering a Cobra club... I can swing over 100 mph and debating between the Plus or just the regular Fly Z. I know you said you'd have the weight forward but do you really see any significant performance stats to warrant the price difference between the 2 clubs? Also, what is a good way to determine if I should move up from the S shaft to X? Hopefully you can reply asap! Thanks!
Hey +Ballistic Meek how have you found swinging your Fly-Z driver over the previous couple of months? I'm tempted to get one too, especially as the price has dropped ;0) Cheers!
anyone knows how this club compare to the tailor-made r15? weight not back in the head because i am looking to by 1 of these drivers in the near future (i'm an 18 hcp but i play at a 14 on a average day)
Lovely clubs. Seems to me they are all carrying about 280 +/- a couple of yards, the only difference is the spin pffffft. I would choose the simplicity of the non flippy club :-)
Hooks (and overcooked draws) are always going to spin less. You cannot accurately assess spin reduction/peak height/launch angle, when you turn the ball over with the weight forward vs pushing them straight/straight right with the weight in the tail.
I do agree, however, to be absolutely fair, it's something that Rick is currently working on in his swing, to swing a little more left to neutralize his ballflight a little, but technically, for the purposes of this particular review, I do agree with you.
Ricks nature is a draw - but, Rick, don't correct it mid review. Draw them ALL or push them ALL so we get apples to apples spin/trajectory comparisons ;) I don't think the positioning of the weight further back created this difference in ball direction. And I understand Rick isn't a robot but he is fairly consistent. But I understand that you saw my original point.

Thanks for the review Rick! Just ordered a Z+ and I am really excited!
hi rick because of your review I brought one and never looked back it goes long

This and the ping g30 ls tec are the drivers I want to try this year
May need to pick a colour and get it in the bag
I currently have the Cobra AMP cell pro driver which is working really great for me, but I might just have to try that Fly Z + driver!
It looked like with the weight forward it was dipping a little bit? Not sure because it still got great numbers! Good review rick as always

I think it will suit you best with the weight back but the loft 1 or 2 degrees down.
Great advert and advice..I will definitely being buying one...thank you

Bobby Desjardins Yes i'll get him onto it

Make me the decision easyer...
Thank you vor that nice video. Hold on with it...
Been waiting for these. Can't wait to try them out!
Got cobra zl with project x black 6.0 will defo be looking to renew on the fly z+. Great vid Rick.

I had the cobra zl encore that was a great club !
I really hope I get the junior cobra bio cell driver.
For Christmas.

Looking forward to trying one this spring! How was Orlando?
Orlando was awesome! Loads of videos to come.
So without the HMT running does GC2 assume a smash factor of 1.45 to estimate clubhead speed from the ball speed?
Yes, it does.
Makes me want to test a Cobra club for the first time.
Sven Hallauer Brilliant!
Finally! Great review!

Another great video
This driver had come up in my local second hand shop and it looks in great condition but would you recommend for a beginner?
I prefer offset drivers. Almost like hitting a a large three wood. I suck at hitting regular drivers. Thats just me.
Same stats as the Bio Cell +...so the improvement is?
i feel dumb for not knowing this, can someone explain why the weight distribution would affect ball spin
it affects the CG of the club, you can read up on how CG affects ball spin, just google some articles
Slightly smaller head (455cc) versus 460cc for the Fly-Z according to the website. Not much difference I suppose.
Lovely clubs. Seems to me they are all carrying about 280 +/- a couple of yards, the only difference is the spin pffffft. I would choose the simplicity of the non flippy club :-)

Heel would do that - good eye
Jonas Blixt is gonna be unhappy with ur final comment!
and to expand: Lexi Thompson, good old Jesper, they are covering all the tours but a minor but "stylin" player.
Come on. Youre recent vid with the old ping g30 and the new one also avraged over 300 yards.
Rick, you had cats as a child

You can say z correctly if you want, Americans are the only ones who say z like zee (I'm an American)
I thought you were in America Rik,have they laid on a private jet to ferry you back and forth?
He filmed this in December.
Another new driver yawn. Sticking with my i15
Would help to get someone who speaks English! :-)
