We've gotta identical 1983 Glastron CVX16 in Lake Neppessing in Lapeer Michigan. It was a barn find in 2023 out South Dakota in showroom confirm. GREAT VIDEO
I love watching this. Nice boat!
GIDDY UP GO ON A VINTAGE GLASTRON, BOGGY BABY, ROCK ON.
Loving the glastron content. Keep it coming!
JUST BOUGHT 1974 GT 150 85 MERCURY, BOAT EXCEPTIONAL SHAPE FOR A 50 YEAR OLD BOAT LOVE IE EVERY THING WORKS FAST AS HELL, TOY, BOAT.
I love those old Glastrons. I had a Jet Flite 14' little flyer back in the day. Max recommended horsepower placard be danged!
That’s nuts. I had a CVX 16. They’re rated for a 90hp max. I had a 120 on mine and !it would fly. That engine puts it in another league
Our 1979 CVX16 is rated to 125hp. 150 in the wrong hands could be lethal. Didn’t set this up for speed but rather for the acceleration. It’s a lotta fun.
New sub here. Great content. Much love to ya from Maryland❤❤❤
Thanks for the sub Melvin!
Awesome boat 💯
Thank you so much for the comment.
really nice boat. that thing flies.
Thank you for the comments and thanks for watching. Was on the water last Thursday and got some good action video. My buddy caught me with the boat going airborne. I did not do it on purpose. Was doing a flyby and looked down in time to see a monster wave that I couldn’t avoid so I tossed the phone and hung on. Got my attention to say the least and had to change my underwear too. Hope to have the video out soon.
Good video
How’s it going with your boat/motor combo? Any updates?
@@Stromzilla Haven't had the boat out since last time. Maybe i take it out today. Still waiting on the new prop. If i take the boat out, i gonna take some video's and pictures.
@@Stromzilla How is it going with your boat?
@@christianrbone9612 Hello Christianrbone! What is the latest with your boat and motor? Had our boat out over the holiday weekend and had a great time. Looking to get out this coming Saturday. Motor is running well as usual.
@@Stromzilla Good to hear. Our engine is running great, just got a Tempest Plus 24'', i was out yesterday to test it, but the wakes where to big, so i am waiting for a calm day :)
Hope you are in good healh.
Thank you for asking. Health is good. Been nonstop busy. Only had the boat out 1 time. Hoping to get out on the water in a week or 2.
Does the jack plate help with the chime walk issue?
I’ve been told it’ll improve the situation. However, I can assure you the chinewalk is still an issue. And it varies with speed and how much the bow is trimmed out. At 55 with medium trim it runs well. Keep trimming up the bow and things can get hairy. I like cruising at lower speeds with max trim…will run all day on a tank of gas
Id have a stereo playing some Judas Priest in there for sure
Can you tell me what the total towing weight with the motor and trailer is? Thanks
Boat/Motor/Battery/rigging is roughly 1150 lbs. Our trailer is lightweight at roughly 650. Tank of gas is 100 lbs. Total is about 1900 lbs.
@@Stromzilla Thank you very much.
And if you had an older Evinrude 115 or Mercury 115 you’d be able to subtract 100lbs and a total weight close to 1800 lbs
Hey there. How did the side panels get removed to do the upholstery? I was looking at my cvx20 and I didn’t see any thru bolts or any kind of fastening system that would make them easy to remove.
Mine had thru studs so when I rebuilt mine we epoxied in the bolts so they wouldn’t spin. Worked out well. Reach up in there and locate the nuts. If you can’t reach then tear off the outer vinyl and foam and you should see them.
@@Stromzilla thanks. The last time I looked there were some foam pieces up in there. The studs may be behind that
Since you’re going thru the rebuild process with your interior, would recommend you epoxy in the bolts so they don’t spin. Dish out the area where the bolt head will sit, mixup a batch of epoxy/flox filler, and completely cover the bolt head keeping the mix flush with the panel. Use stainless steel hardware.
And for extra protection we brushed on epoxy/resin over all panels to give extra protection from water
@@Stromzilla thanks for the advice. I do hope they're bolted in, that will make my job a lot easier.
Where did you buy your rear view mirror? I’ve been looking for one like that mounts like your mirror on the dash. Thanks
Came with the boat and assumed it was original equipment.
How fast ??
I’ve had it up to 63mph. Unfortunately I have to bury the bow to maintain stability. If we could eliminate the chine walking, I can easily see 70-plus mph.
VERI VERI NAJS.
No videos this summmer so far.
get rid of the thru hub prop. they suck. get a semi clever hydromotive prop. and raise the engine water intakes just below the pad. you'll have a way better boat.
Way too much motor.
i have a Yamaha 115 on my cvx16 and its perfect can hit 52 mph and doesnt eat fuel like crazy because its a 4cyl not a 6
If you prefer a 115hp, you can watch my first video with a v4 I rebuilt. Ran nice and performed well.
