My god…. I’ve played all my life and watched and her everyone. But this guy is just absolutely fkn flawless. The gift he has is incredible. He is In my all time top 5 for sure ! I mean u can say enough about him ! Johnny pls take care of yourself, we want you around for a long time brother
Holy smokes! Just learned about Johnny today. How is that possible? At 3:55 check out that harmonics run. He just whips it out there like nothing! Damn!
i watch this guys vids EVERY. EFFIN. DAY. and i can't get enough. definitely in my top 5 all time. jason becker, uli jon roth, yngwie and bumblefoot. imho of course
Same as Shawn Lane. Arguably the greatest, most technically proficient electric guitarist in history and he was relegated to playing clubs around Memphis,
ThatGuitardedGuy Lane? He was born in and resided in Memphis, TN his whole life. Mostly played Bombay Bicycle Club and other smaller, similar venues around Memphis (when he wasn’t abroad) until he passed.
If these comments on JB were from 15 years ago I would agree. But they are way off today. His catalogue is pretty sophisticated. Recent albums display great song writing and variety. He literally worked on his vocals until they improved to current level.his work with Beth Hart....seriously.some of you do not know what you are talking about. Johnny is awesome.but there are vids he is with bonamassa and skill, tone , nod goes to JB
The really fun bit is also that they look like they are chillin in the tractor workshop on the farm changing an air filter....chicken pickin blues is fun!!!!!
Johnny Hiland is without a doubt an ace picker but...he ain't touching the feel that J.J. Cale had when he played his classic. In Johnny's defense, Skynyrd didn't come close to J.J. When you're covering a J.J. tune - it's not what you play but what you don't.
Johnny improvises everything he does. Which ain't good or bad but can he play a song like it was written ??? I know alot of guitar players that improvise and that's all they can do. This is Johnny's version. I like skynyrds version the best.
Cool thing about that. After Johnny's album came out with that on it, we got a nice note from JJ Cale's family telling us how much they liked Johnny's version.
While Bonamassa sells out stadiums, Johnny is quietly the best player out there for what it’s worth
I absolutely agree!
Bonamassa has no own style, Johnny has his own style!
So very true..............And very sad!!
Both men suffer the same fate, however. They don't live the "lifestyle".
subjective opinion dude
And every bit as humble as Joe.

Of his talent is rarely seen, he is simply amazing.
The drummer mr Gutridge and the bass mr Armstrong are amazing as well
i watch this guys vids EVERY. EFFIN. DAY. and i can't get enough. definitely in my top 5 all time. jason becker, uli jon roth, yngwie and bumblefoot. imho of course
Why is the best damn guitar player in the universe playing a tiny place like that?
It was for a NAMM event for a gear manufacturer.
he just loves what he does .
Same as Shawn Lane. Arguably the greatest, most technically proficient electric guitarist in history and he was relegated to playing clubs around Memphis,
Clubs in nashville, not Memphis
ThatGuitardedGuy Lane? He was born in and resided in Memphis, TN his whole life. Mostly played Bombay Bicycle Club and other smaller, similar venues around Memphis (when he wasn’t abroad) until he passed.

👍👍👍👍👍
Dear Lord...
Credit due where due,,, not many people can touch this guy !
I really liked the part at 5:18 ...
What guitar and amp?
Milion dollar guitarist. How many hours of practice are needed to play like him?
Robert Fordin sure makes it look easy though
He started playing @2.5 years of age.
Cleanest fastest country player in top 3 with paisley and masson, in this he's number 1🤘
Aww hell ya. That was tasty.
Call Me the Breeze played in the style of Led Zeppelin’s Rock and Roll.
1,000 bhp + some very cool (and rapid) licks. He can play all styles ?
he can burn any one
slower than skynyrd. sounds more like rock and roll by led zeplin
Exactly what I thinking. Instead of "Well now they call me the breeze", Should be,"Been a long time since I rock and rolled."
Johnny is a much better guitar player than Jimmy Page!
Johnny is much more educated musician!
Johnny improvises everything he does. Which ain't good or bad but can he play a song like it was written ??? I know alot of guitar players that improvise and that's all they can do. This is Johnny's version. I like skynyrds version the best.
Rhonda Macpherson skynyrd didn’t play it like it was written lol
You are correct I forgot jj Cale did that song originaly
yep...the man.
So muss das sein guite Musik
He's good at what he does but it all has same flavor no matter what song.versatility no
JJ Cale wrote a hell of a song with this one.
Cool thing about that. After Johnny's album came out with that on it, we got a nice note from JJ Cale's family telling us how much they liked Johnny's version.
picker man!!
