Most of the tracks are from even before Script of The Bridge. I believe apart from maybe a couple of tracks on here like Prisoners of the Sun, this was what was going to be the first Chameleons album back in 1981 if Steve Lillywhite hadn’t bailed on them, or if they’d compromised more with CBS. This is why there aren’t that many, if any, songs on here like their studio albums which feature Dave using a Roland RE-301 Chorus Echo. That though led them to continue perfecting some of the newer material (at the time) which led to SoTB once they moved from CBS to Statik. I agree, though, the latter half is not that great. Since you’re a fan of Second Skin it might be worthwhile to check out “Dreams In Celluloid” not because it’s as good or better, because it’s neither, but just to see how Second Skin started off.
