Laser Lab: Designing new ways to manipulate light

It may sound like science fiction--but this is real. Dr. Jeff Squier, professor of physics at Colorado School of Mines, researches ways to focus laser light in both space and time. His findings could have extraordinary uses: blood diagnostic devices on a chip, more accurate laser eye surgery and improved machining to name a few.
