Please do a painting and rigging video
Great video. I built my two sloops using this guide. Please do a rigging guide. I also subscribed 😊
VERY HELPFUL VIDEO!!!! I just got my box set and the sloop directions were kind of vague in a couple spots. This video filled in the blanks, thank you. As a TT Nautical Noob i would like to request a video showing how you do the sails and rigging.
It's definitely on the "To Do List"
Seeing them in Plastic has me good to go. Great Job!!
Hey thanks, 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼. Please do a video on the rigging. Before I end up tying my hands to the ship. 🤣😆🤣. Cheers 🍻
Would you be able to do a rigging demo for the plastic kit sloop please
Yes! It’s on our short list.
Man, I like my resin sloop, but the details this has are notably nicer. If this is what they are doing with plastics, I am imaging what they coukd make a new frigate look like. That hard to see covered deck looks like a great spot to do some test test runs on deck painting scemes before commiting.
As much as I love more modern war machines, this bring back memories of my love of ships of this era in my youth (too many Erroll Flynn movies growing up?).
I can watch painting and modelling of a WW2 tank and think it is interesting and skillful but watching this and seeing the final result was visceral.
With the two sloops and some pirates I think I will even be able to convince my wife to play - "You can pretend it is Jack Sparrow" :D
Captain Jack Sparrow...😂🍻
Just bought the 2 player starter… I am not far in, but I glued the stern to both sides first to have a clamshell effect to assist me to place the lower deck in….I’ll see how successful this plan is. Regardless this was an awesome video!!!
Thanks. This video has been a great help putting my first sloop together.
Awesome tutorial!! Now onto rigging and sails! 😊
I only wish I would have had this sooner. Hopefully it'll help some folks down the line.
Great video and very helpful! Keep up the great content
Very well made model but I wish they would have thought of a better way for the under-deck cannons to be placed. I built my first one without realizing I couldn’t place cannons there after building.
Unfortunately, many people have made that mistake. I did on my first one. If you haven't fully assembled all of the cannons, you can glue a couple chunk of cut sprue through the window with tweezers and then you can mount just the "bore" on those bits. You can't tell the difference on the game table. You have to get close to see it through the darkened window.
Thank you so much!!! building now :-)
Haha! I was rushing the build. Glued the deck, and then had to assemble cannons through the doors! Doable but pain. ;)
Thanks for making this
I like the resin ships but you can’t argue with the savings. 39 bucks for the plastic compared to the 89 dollars for the resin. One thing I am nervous about is the figures. The ones I got in my order have very thin details and swords. I’m going to be super nervous when I have a large amount of plastic guys on deck, and need to reach in and remove a few…
Other than Calico Jack Rackham's needle sword they have been shockingly durable. I was worried about the spears, but they have held up nicely and I've yet to break one at the table.
Really useful video, thanks.
Another great video! She really turned out stellar. What paints did you use for your masts and deck? Do you also suggest painting masts for the wooden dowel masts for other ships or perhaps going with a stain? Thanks again!
Is the sloop with a square sail at the top a Bermuda or a Balandra?
So the box says Balandra. I disagree because the playcard says the Bermuda has 1 more sail. Its unclear. I think Bermuda and its the one im actively making
For modeling purposes the Bermuda Sloop has the top sail. But a Balandra has an optional upgrade to take a "Topsail" for +2 pts... so both.
If you agree with Dan, follow the rule of cool and rig it how you like.
Thanks for the video.
Just got my KS. Was wondering what material to use for the sails and rigging as nothing is provided indeed....
Any advice on how to put in the painted canons before priming. It just looks like a whole lot easier to close the back canon port things
I try with Tamiya extra thin cement. And it doesn't bond properly. Any idea why?
Is it because it is resin?
Where does ome get the sails and rope
You can pick up elastic thread on Amazon or any craft store or on our Blood & Pigment shop. You can download sails templates on the Firelock Games website and use paper sails or cloth or sheet foam. Check our flagship blog and search for “sails” for some helpful articles!
The pieces are not numbered….
What type glue do you recommend?
I used (and really like) Model Master. But any glue made for plastic should be fine.
Hi there
you do great videos, but the music is is annoying
