The Krone Team | Van Eijck Alphen | Forage maize harvest 2023

Dutch contractor Van Eijck started the 2023 maize (corn) silage silage season with all new Krone equipment. Star of the show is this Krone BiG X 780 Optimaize. With its EasyCollect 903 12 row header it can certainly eat the acres in a short time. This machine features a mighty Liebherr D 9508 8 cylinder engine under its big hood delivering a maximum of 775 horsepower.
Of course you need a lot of transporting capacity to keep this self propelled forage harvester running. That is why the contractor invested in two new Krone GX 560 push-off roll belt trailers. These have a 56 m³ capacity and can transport all crops; from cereals to onions and also silage. One trailer is towed by a Fendt 924, the other by a John Deere 6215R. Finally on the clamp we see a Cat 960M loading shovel pushing up the loads and compacting it.

Is this the process of uprooting the corn plant after the corn itself has been extracted from the corn plant? Bcoz i don't see the corns!! Just wondering!

The corn cobs/ears are still on the plant. These contain the most nutritional value for the cows as this maize is destined for dairy cow feed. As the whole plant is chopped up and the kernels pulverised you don't see the seeds itself.

That was a path made for the irrigator trolley so they could irrigate the crop.
