So I’m going back to the beginning and watching all of your flosstubes.... you are MAJOR enablers aren’t you? On a serious note, I am so inspired by your stitching and your friendship. Thank you for making these videos. 😊
Went back to your intro and am now into episode 2. I dearly love the two of you. You are my kind of ladies ! You have the love of red. I have the love of DMC 500 greens. To me Green is ‘spring’ and the color of re-birth. That’s my reasoning in living in Minnesota where we get so tired of winter white and drabness. Love that Laura had to ‘stalk’ Brenda to become a stitching buddy. Totally lost it when she said that! At first in your succeeding episodes that I viewed, I thought the two of you were sisters. Glad that I have some marathoning to do to catch up to your current episodes. Ladies, the two of you are such good friends that I am so happy to include in my days of watching floss tube. Thank you.
Another fantastic show with all the greatest things I can think off! Fantastic stitching and beautiful finishing! I even follow some of the laws and didn't realize they were laws! I'm happy to be compliant LOL! Thank you for sharing your unique and wonderful love of stitching! Always good to see other's visions and talents on our shared love of needlework!
I absolutely love watching you guys every fortnight, I love everything you stitch and seeing your finishes and your antique purchases. Everything you do is exquisite. My Daughter and I only became aware of Flosstube around the middle of 2020 so started watching you about that time too. I’m now watching all your videos from the very beginning of your Flosstube journey in 2019. Thank you so much for making your videos.
what can I say..... obx and the dynamic duo! breezy on the beach but loving your video! your enthusiasm is contagious and Laura your laws will keep us on the right track! thx girls for sharing the love! 💟
Half way through #2 and had to post. Now the two of you can just stop aiming for that ‘Enabler Queen’ title. Right now! 😘 I have a surprise, obligation stitching going on and just can’t start another. But my ever-lasting Thanks for all the product you are showing. Will keep them in my mind for when I get down to Stitchville, USA. Enabler Queens, both of you! 🥰
I love your videos (all 2 of them...haha) and your samplers. You girls are a natural and it was a pleasure to sit and enjoy everything you talked about. I use to be a monogamous stitcher until I found Flosstube. Now I'm a serial stitcher, too...haha. Life's too short to NOT be a serial stitcher. I'm 72 and took a 18 year hiatus from cross stitch to be a quilter, but last year, I felt "burned out" as a quilter and put it away and picked up cross stitching again. I was amazed at what had changed! I had NO idea!! I'm a sampler stitcher. It's what has always appealed to me. Look forward to more videos from you girls :)
Ha - this is great. No sooner do I catch on to FlossTube, I find your 1st video and - you're local! I have a quilting community, but stitching has always been a solitary pursuit for me... but now I have found my people. I mean, I literally know NO ONE else who has scarlet letter samplers. Or appreciates a nice silk ribbon on a thing. Or off-handedly evaluates the relative merits of WDW pomegranate and cayenne, specifically...You reminded me how much I love GiGi R, the Country Sampler and the Mary Barres sampler! OMG. and such cute needlebook ideas... You guys are hysterical... Looking forward to #3. - Sara aka "Rarely Finishes"
Seriously...one must have people who appreciate all the things you named. It is just so much fun to talk about the vagaries of stitching!!!!! Where do you live? There is a local group of stitchers on IG that are getting together once a month. DM on IG and I can give you more information!!!!!!! We are your people!
Thank you, thank you, the term serial starter is fantastic. I no longer need to hide that I have many, many WIPs. Some get finished 30 years later but they do get finished.🌹
I just love all your stitching mottos...and having your favourite stitching shops on speed dial..🤣🤣🤣for that cross stitching emergency! You two crack me up..I loved every moment spent watching your flosstube...Thanku so much for sharing your addiction with us.♥️
Two more rules!! I agree someone should stitch these up. I guess I’ll continue on to see if that ever happens. Loving getting to know you more and seeing your previous projects. On to #3. Happy Stitching! Still Awake in Georgia, Vanessa
Late to the party, but now I'm caught up with BOTH episodes, and have to say I just love you two! Your sweet friendship and sense of fun definitely shines through. Brenda, your stitchy space looks like a wonderland! And Laura, I lived seeing your Attic haul - I'm in southern California, so The Attic is allllmost my LNS. :) Got the 'Fragments' chart earlier this year, and just ordered Mercedes Ospina ... saw it featured on Fiber Talk and could not get it out of my mind. Plus, now that I know, I certainly don't want to take a chance of breaking a Federal law! Thank you both for all the smiles today.
You two are amazing! So many beautiful projects and great conversation. You all are naturals at making videos and are a wonderful gift to the Flosstube community. Thank you. Brenda, your antiques and your framed samplers are stunning! I also like the idea of repurposing old framed pieces. Any suggestions for three large geese on stamped aida? (LOL--what was I thinking?) They've sat in a closet for 15-20 years. Laura, I have some of your new purchases waiting in line. I plan to start Anna Tench once I'm finished with Hannah Coates. Charlotte Clayton may be a 2020 start. I'm anxiously awaiting your next video.
Thanks so much Ellen!!! Your kind comments are just so uplifting!!!! Glad you have those projects in line. I know Brenda is really wanting to start Hannah Coates!!!! I could think of 50 samplers to start on 1/1/20!!!! It's a good problem to have right? As far as the geese go.....it sounds like it would be a cute needlebook or drum roll?!!!??
@@ellenchester132 Thanks so much Ellen! What if you colored copied the geese, shrunk them and then modge-podged them to a paper mache box. Blackbird Designs does that with some of their projects and it's really quite cool. Not sure if you're into all that "crafting" through! We have to be in the mood to make a mess.... and we would much rather be stitching most of the time LOL!
You two are seriously my new addictive favourite flosstubers. I love samplers also and even though you are enabling to spend more then my hubby knows about 😬, I’m so enjoying watching you two...albeit with a bit of envy. I want to move next door and stitch with you two. Looking forward to your next video. And yes, I ordered Mary Barres and Elizabeth Wenden. On sale...even though I ordered the Queen Sampler...on sale...that’s my story and I’m sticking to it!
Ladies you are the best! I love our visits, and talks about stitching, making laws, laughter. That stitching room is awesome, I want to live there. All of your stitching is amazing, enables me to get it together and stitch more.
Your floss tube videos can’t come out soon enough for me! The two of you are so wonderful in all that you project across these waves. I have cross stitched for a long time, however I never have stitched a sampler before, but am definitely encouraged to do so now! The choices in choosing just “a one” sampler are so endless. The dilemma could go on forever. Thanks for pointing out so many particular pretty ones. Sooooo now onto making a selection.😊
Ok, you are where I aspire to be in my stitching. I'm fairly new (one year or so) to cross stitch and still very much an Aida girl. Hoping to get good enough to stitch those beautiful samplers on lovely fabrics. I'll just live vicariously through you in the meantime.
Awesome 2nd video!!!! Brenda what a great idea to put your favorite cross stitch shops on speed dial, I am going to do that!!! Love, love all your beautiful stitching gals and your stash!!! I am breaking the federal law so I better get started on a red Sampler. Love your laws and I just ordered from Sampling of Memories this afternoon so I did good on that one. I am looking forward to your next video till then happy stitching and hugs, Lynn
It’s COVID year....July, 2020! I’ve just found your RUclips videos and I LOVE them. I will be entertained and educated for a LONG time because I am starting g with you very first one! Yea!
Another lovely video! So many great projects. Red Deer Sampler has always been on my mental “ to do” list. I have shown it to a friend, and she said , “No!” It was fun to hear that Laura had the same reaction at first when she saw Brenda’s choice. ~ Sue T.
Thanks for taking the time to comment Sue! Isn't it funny how our tastes change??? All the things I didn't used to like are now front and center in my stitching basket!!!! I need to start Red Deer soon...I have it all kitted up!
Such lovely videos Ladies! I have enjoyed every minute. Your Samplers are beautiful 😍 I thought I would never Stitch Samplers and then one day I couldn’t stop looking at them. It is so true that your taste in stitching can change over time. I absolutely love looking at all the “eye candy” behind you ❤️...and it is so organized!! Thank you for your enabling and I can’t wait until our next visit 💕
I never really looked at the Red Deer sampler, BUT NOW...GOTTA HAVE IT!! Ladies I am going to visit the poor house with all the charts (samplers) I have seen today!! Love 💘 both of you and this channel too! Yes, the variegated Silky is called a blendable...have not used them yet! It is such a BLESSING TO HAVE EACH OTHER TO LOVE IT, BUY IT, and STITCH IT! 😃😊😉 HAPPY STITCHING TODAY AND EVERYDAY!
Thank you for your fun and wonderful comment Karen!!!!! We will all be together in the poor house....but we will have some wonderful stash!!!! Stitching brings such joy doesn't it???? Happy Stitching!!! Love to you too!!
You two are just the best and you know how to speak the language (immediate radar, Bay of Evil, speed dial, stash, school house red, I have two, tastes change). What a great Federal law--red sampler! Yes, stitching with one color after a challenging day is the way to end the day. And speaking of red--have you tried school house red Gloriana? Off to order thread boards.
The red deer sampler is just stunning! There’s nothing like seeing the piece that someone has stitched! Enjoyed you gals ...you work so well together! And I will follow your red sampler law....I might go start another now🤣thanks for sharing...my neck hurts because I’m trying to see what’s in the corners of your beautiful room😂😂.....until next time....
I am waiting for the red silk for Harriet Salt so soon I won’t be breaking the law. Red is my favorite color, houses are my favorite motif - so red houses! Nothing better. I know there is not a house on Harriet but still love stitching with red. Enjoyed visiting with you again.
I really want to get Harriet Salt!!! I feel that I will be breaking down on that one soon........perhaps a "bip" on that is what I will do this week. So many things to add to the stash!!! Thanks for stopping by!
Love love your videos! Mary Good is beautiful but love Martha Pudsey and THAT FRAME! I do want to stitch the American Sampler. Love the house color and THAT HORSE!! November 1 sounds like a good start date 😊 I love all your rules and your haul from The Attic. Yes I’m into red samplers. The French Sampler Marie Journet 1863 is at Total Framing. I like your idea of having a red sampler going all the time. It’s great to repurpose cross stitch into something else. Love your needle book. Sweet. Oh my gosh Red Deer Sampler is GORGEOUS! Happy Stitching ladies!
So glad I heard about you and now watched you!!! Such beautiful projects!!! Love all the colors and fabric!! I use to live about 30 minutes from The Attic so I spent much time and money there!!!! Your hauls are amazing as well !! Great idea to make other items out of older and maybe tired projects!! I call it vintage!!! Can’t wait to see you again!!!
Great video ladies. Both are a breath of fresh air. You two have so enabled me to get started on a red sampler. Can't wait for your next video. Love your federal laws. Till next time😊
Thank you for showing your lovely work. I have put a few of what you have both shown on my wish list at 123 stitch. I love my project bags too an have made quite a few, some given away as gifts. Happy stitching.
You are a breath of fresh air.... so enjoyable in every way. And so inspiring, too much for i can't keep up with you. So jealous of your trip to the Attic for Summer School. I think I saw where someone said you are 'enablers.' So True! Wish I could stitch with you. xoxo Maryann
We sure wish we could all stitch together too!!! Stitchers are the best!!! I am afraid it is true that we are enablers.......we just can't help ourselves!
You both really do inspire/tempt us with your projects and lovely finishes. I was watching and rearranging my stitching spot a little. I found an envelop with a gift cert. for my LNS along with some cash from Christmas! Time to shop as you recommended!
Thanks for sharing all of those beautiful samplers. I was able to visit Welcome Stitchery once a few years ago. It is a wonderful place to spend time and money. I hope the owner finds a buyer so she can retire and the shop can continue to thrive. Each and every LNS is a treasure. I like the idea of everyone ordering one thing from a different LNS. We need to support all LNS owners. It “should be a law.”
Thank you, Linda, for your thoughts on supporting LNS’s. It is really appreciated ... they are dwindling, but that can change, with needleworkers giving thought to their impact in the needlework community. I know a number of my friends who also own LNS’s across this great country also appreciate needleworkers’ consideration and support. The Attic certainly does.
I don’t want your video to end! So much ‘window shopping’ going on here. I am waiting for my horn book to come in the mail and I haven’t even bought the pattern for it yet, lol. But when I saw it I had to grab one just in case they sold out and she wasn’t going to make anymore. Can’t wait to see you both again! Xoxo
You ladies have quickly endeared yourselves to me. You are delightful to watch and listen to! Your personalities really shine through along with your friendship.
I’m late watching, but super inspired! You guys are great. I love, love, love your projects! And your laws.......so funny, but yet so true. I’ve been pondering Red Deer, but no more. I’ll be kitting it soon.
Hi ladies!!! SOOOOOO happy to see another video full of gorgeousness!!! So far, I am a total believer in your rules on red samplers, buying something new, and schoolhouse red being a perfect red!!!! Brenda- you need to reproduce your sampler, I would be in line to stitch it!!! Already looking forward to your next video!!!!
So Yay! Another fab video, everything you showed was drool-worthy (is that even a word?) I do love the new Federal Law: Must have a red sampler going all the time. Who doesn't love a red house or an all red sampler? Thanks for adding to the growing list of Must Have Samplers List. Can't wait to see what you'll show us in the next video.
Oh you two just made my weekend!! Love spending time with you, wish it was in person, but I’ll take what I can get! Love your wips! I just kitted up red deer sampler and it’s all your fault as usual! 🤣 Love the videos, Thank you for sharing with us!
Thank you so much for another wonderful episode. Loved all the red work samplers. Sorry I have broken many of your laws, but being retired after 40 years of teaching makes me budget conscious. Sorry!
Ladies! Love all the laws this week!! And since I don't like being a stitchy law breaker (especially a federal one), I will be calling the Attic (my first time) to have them kit Gigi R's Elizabeth A Welden with a red silk and fabric of their choice. And will need to order Ooh La La, too! So Elizabeth doesn't travel alone. Another wonderful video!
Love your videos and I am also a fan of red samplers and red houses. Your rules just crack me up and your permission to order more charts is going to kill me. I have no filter and I get happy mail every week. The internet makes it so easy even without a LNS. LOL Thanks again for the laughs and the joy of sharing your needlework with floss tube. Have a wonderful stitchy week. Look forward to #3. Cheers, Norma in Boise, ID
Fantastic video girls!! I felt like I was sitting right there with you! Love all your samplers! Brenda, that 40 count I was telling you about was Autumn Sampler, you are going to love it! I also loved your idea of always having a redwork going. I’m marching straight to my stitching room and pulling out a cute little redwork Christmas sampler I have, what a great change from pumpkins. Would love it if you did a video every week but totally understand the time issue, I’m grateful that you are taking the time to do videos so you do what works best for you two. I’m a hermit too after working around chaos all week I dream about being home where it is calm and simply stitching!! Thank you for the video and chat...until next time!
So delightful! I am with Jean Lea and hope you will reproduce that gorgeous sampler. It is such fun watching you and your joyful hearts speak volumes!❤️
Thank you for such a sweet comment Susan!!!! Maybe when Brenda retires (not happening soon) she can learn how to reproduce samplers..... until then we know we have plenty of beautiful samplers to keep us busy!!! We haven't even scratched the surface yet! Thank you for saying we have joyful hearts....that is such a very nice thing to notice.
Another great video ladies! My stash is going to keep growing after seeing all of the beautiful things. Brenda, I love your Red Deer Sampler. It’s in my stash. 😊Laura, I really need to start a red sampler now. 😉
Thanks McKenna!!!!!! Yes, Brenda's sampler is amazing. She has a couple of other ones up her sleeve too. We are coming to the attic in November for the BBD thing...maybe we will see you there on that Thursday night!!!!
Great video! Love you girls! MamaJoan IS the queen of project bags. I love all the laws. Also, great pitch for our LNS’. I went right over and ordered Stacy Nash Fresh Picked Pinkeep that Brenda showed. Thanks for sharing! 💜
Hi girls, really loved your second FT video. Loved looking at your samplers and stash. Just beautiful so many gorgeous things. Your both enablers 😄😄. Also, thank you for your lovely comments re my two Anna Trench samplers that you saw at The Attic. It means a lot to me when other stitches such as yourself comment. On a side note Brenda. I also got a beautiful Welsh sampler from the auction that yours came from and the same thing happened with the glass. But it broke when it was still in England, not on its journey to Australia.
What a happy surprise this afternoon! Love, love, love spending time with y'all. I don't know if anyone else has mentioned this, but Farm Girl has a new video today as well, and she also showed a stack of Kelmscott thread keeps, and gave us a very informative little history lesson. Can't wait for episode 3!
I just absolutely adore you two!! I just started to watch you gals and I have to say I share your passion with the samplers. I look so forward to watching your other episodes. I love your laws that you make oh so so cool!! Happy Stitching :-D
Sorry to be so offtopic but does any of you know of a way to log back into an instagram account..? I somehow forgot the account password. I would appreciate any tips you can offer me.
@Jaden Lukas Thanks for your reply. I got to the site on google and im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. I see it takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.
Oh my gosh...so much stitchy goodness in one video! Loved all of it! Don’t worry about technical aspects of FT. Just keep stitching! You get so much done while working that I can’t wait to see what you do when you are retired!!!😂
South Holland! I'm originally from Dolton. I wish I had a great local stitching community in my new home outside of Washington DC like you guys have back in Chicagoland. Great videos. Looking forward to more.
Dolton!!!! Did you go to Thornridge??? I went to Thornwood. Now living in Downers Grove, but my Mom still lives in South Holland. Isn't it a small world? We are so so lucky to have a big stitching community in our area. Isn't the shop In Stitches close to you???? That is a really good LNS. Thanks for leaving such a fun comment.
So I’m going back to the beginning and watching all of your flosstubes.... you are MAJOR enablers aren’t you? On a serious note, I am so inspired by your stitching and your friendship. Thank you for making these videos. 😊

Ohh the samplers are beautiful! Enjoyed your beautiful stitching.
Thank you so much Theresa!!
Another wonderful video. You two are the worst enablers. 😂❤️ Loved seeing your stitching.
We are bad enablers....I know....we just can't help ourselves...There is so much good stuff out there!!! Thanks for your comment!
You two are naturals for FT! Your wonderful fun-loving, sampler-loving personalities shine through. Loved every minute. 🥰❤️
Thanks so much Jean!! You know we adore you to the max!!!!!
@@brendaandtheserialstarter2410 ❤️
Thank you so much for such a great comment Carol!!! It sounds like we would enjoy stitching together!!!! I have to look up Marie Journet!!!!!!
Love the two of you! Thanks for showing ALL the things! And it's FEDERAL LAW!!! 😂😂😂 Have a wonderful week!
Thanks so much Cathy!!!!!! Hope you are having a good stitchy week!!
You both do such beautiful work! Love your repurposed needle book and the red deer. Looking forward to your next video.
Thanks so much Lynn!!! We plan to do another video this Sunday....so....see you soon!!!
Thanks for such a sweet comment Sara!!!!!! I bet you miss living near the attic!!!!
All those beautiful samplers!!❤️❤️.
Isn't it amazing how many there are???? Endless supply = lucky us!!!
Thank you so much for a lovely visit. Have a great two weeks! See you soon. Happy stitching. Lori at Once Upon a Stitch
Thanks Lori!!!! We sure wish we could to one every week.....darn jobs!!!!! Until then, stitching daily is the best therapy right?
You both really do inspire/tempt us with your projects and lovely finishes. I was watching and rearranging my stitching spot a little. I found an envelop with a gift cert. for my LNS along with some cash from Christmas! Time to shop as you recommended!
Catching up on all your videos! Love you guys!!!!
You are right Linda!!! We will enact that law ASAP!!!! Thanks!!!!
Welcome Stitchery and Monica are a special treasure. I think every shop is a special place.
Hi friends! Loved #2!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️Your Stitching is beautiful and you’re both so much fun! 😘😘
Thanks so much Heidi!!!!!!!!! You know you inspired us with the bowl of red idea!!!!! Loved your most recent video too!!!!
Xoxo
Thanks so much Amy!! Wise move on ordering that horn book right away!!! That is the kind of thing I (laura) would do.......
Ladies, I am not a sampler stitcher but you just might change my mind. Some amazing pieces shown today. On to your next video! Happy Stitching Ladies.
You two are precious. Looking forward to all your videos.
Thank you so much Sonja!!
You ladies have quickly endeared yourselves to me. You are delightful to watch and listen to! Your personalities really shine through along with your friendship.
Thanks for your sweet comment Linda!!!
You two are serious enablers! 😩loved seeing all your amazing projects and progress.
Thanks Mindy!!!!
Thanks so much Joan!!! Glad you got inspired!!!!!! We are gathering up things for our next one!!!
Sorry!
You two are the enabler gals! So many beauties that call to me. Thanks so much for sharing your work and enthusiasm.
That is so exciting!!!!! Did you call yet??? You will be thrilled when you get that package!! Let us know!!
Brenda and the Serial Starter I just did! Yayyyyyy!!!!
Thanks so much for the great video...your Samplers are outstanding...love the rules...and of course the enjoyment❣️
Thanks so much for your kind comment Loretta!!!
Fabulous, fabulous fun today with you both. Sincere, professional dedication to cross stitch. Loved it.
We are definitely sincerely dedicated to cross stitch!!! Thanks for leaving such a fun comment!
Love you guys.... bingeing you out of order!
You guys are so much fun to watch and now I want to stitch every single thing you showed! Keep these flosstubes coming!
Yeah! Loved it girls, felt like we were all sitting together again chatting and stitching! 😘😘😘
We will be together again soon!!!!!!! Shipshewana!!! Can't wait!!!
Love your stitching!
Kia Ora from New Zealand...you two are gorgeous! So enjoy your fun approach to stitching...stay wonderful.
So fun! Love all the samplers!
GREAT VIDEO! SOO FUN and INFORMATIONAL!!!
Another great video ladies! My stash is going to keep growing after seeing all of the beautiful things. Brenda, I love your Red Deer Sampler. It’s in my stash. 😊Laura, I really need to start a red sampler now. 😉
Thanks Janet!!! Yes, you need to start a red sampler ASAP!!!! Please let us know which one wins out!!!
You both did a great job!!! I could see so much better and enjoyed everything!!!
Thanks Debra!!!!! We are hoping to get better and better!
How did I just find you ladies?! So many wonderful projects :) The sampler you purchased on the Bay of Evil is a stunner!
That is great Jill!!!! It is a wonderful new project!!!! Have fun stitching it!!!
Great video and the WIP parade is awesome . Just love the rules and the new one of stitching reds . The repurposed stitch is a nice idea.
Linda m
Oh my need to start a red work sampler and red deer is a must too.😍
Start all the things!!!
I will watch Michelle's video ASAP!! Thanks for letting me know! I would watch it anyway, but now that I know this I will hurry up!!!
You guys.....you are my new idles! Your work is just gorgeous. Can’t wait for your next flosstube
Thank you Pat!! What a nice comment!!! We appreciate it.
What fun! And now, I find myself looking at going, “BIP”! I want it!! 🤣😂🤣. See you fun ladies next time! 😊💖
Bip!!!!!!!! Thanks Gisele!!!
You two are an absolute joy to watch, so glad you are making these videos!
Thank you so much Tomi!
I just absolutely adore you two!! I just started to watch you gals and I have to say I share your passion with the samplers. I look so forward to watching your other episodes. I love your laws that you make oh so so cool!! Happy Stitching :-D
Hi buddies! Love the video! You two are naturals...felt like we were together. Great sharing!
Good to see you at Summer School. Your samplers are gorgeous.
Maria!!! Wasn't summer school a blast??? As always, loved seeing you and Barb and Jody!!!!!
Oh my gosh you two are amazing stitchers. My favorite is “it’s a Law” or it should be. I agree 🤣❤️
Sorry to be so offtopic but does any of you know of a way to log back into an instagram account..?
I somehow forgot the account password. I would appreciate any tips you can offer me.
@Dennis Gary instablaster :)
@Jaden Lukas Thanks for your reply. I got to the site on google and im waiting for the hacking stuff atm.
I see it takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.
@Jaden Lukas it worked and I finally got access to my account again. Im so happy:D
Thank you so much you saved my ass !
@Dennis Gary happy to help =)
You had me at “stitching room”. Now I need a tour and ideas of how you store & organize. ❤️
I will put this on the list of things that Brenda needs to do!
The lighting was so good on this Episode, you could really see the colors in the samples pop. Thank you. Keep stitching. ❤️❤️❤️
