    1, The festival day doesn't mean the beginning of spring, In that calendar you talked about, we have 24 significant days in a year, and the spring festival is not one. it's the last day of the year, and what's celebrated is crossing into a new year.
    2, Sure it's celebrated around the world, but look who are the people celebrating? Not you
    3, which idiot translate it to THE LANTERN FESTIVAL, did Hal Jordan do something on that day? it's name after a certain food like always, we are obsessed with food, the lanterns are just pretty and festive, totally sidekicks. Wayward spirits``````````` my ass, that's Japan.
    4, there might b couple of thousands people doing this renting a BF/GF thing, 95% of them ads are scams. It's good to know the media is all on this topic and blow it way out of portion, excellent journalism, now do it to Trump.

    Lunar New Year, NOT Chinese New Year as other Asian nations have the same holiday. Term 'Lunar' has been used for decades.

    • @LeahHLI
      @LeahHLI 2 года назад +1

      So is the word Chinese prohibited on the internet? It’s fuckin Chinese New Year cuz it’s Chinese holiday, it goes by the Chinese Calendar. the world has been calling it that way since the beginning! See the video was posted 5 yrs ago! If Korean and Vietnamese happen to celebrate their holiday on the same day as Chinese New Year then embrace your own holiday names! Happy Korean New Year! Happy Vietnamese New Year! If you claim that the origin of your holiday is not from China, who cares but who said you can change the name of another country’s holiday? Shouldn’t that be two completely different names just like Christmas vs. Hanukkah.

    • @pkim5992
      @pkim5992 2 года назад

      @@LeahHLI Not talking about the day only in China. Do not misunderstand. Happy Korean New Year!, Happy Vietnamese New Year, Chinese New Year. ---> Better for having one single term Lunar New Year. Like Christmas for everyname. Actually China uese differerent name, Spring Festival, Korea uses Seolnal, etc. in native words. So, the term Lunar New Year provides the best English translated term for every Asian country that the same tradition. Remember, 'Lunar New Year' has been used for DECADES and just recently some American media use 'Chinese New Year'. That's the point I want to recover.

    • @LeahHLI
      @LeahHLI 2 года назад +1

      @@pkim5992 yes it’s celebrated by many Asian countries and goes by many names, but it’s called Chinese New Year because it was originated in China, not Korea not Vietnam. You wouldn’t call Christmas Korean Christmas, Thanksgiving Korean Thanksgiving, Hanukkah Korean Hanukkah.
