Thank you I used to use a compound bow, I'm 66 so you know that bow was made out of wood and had a heavy draw, LOL

Do you have a video showing it work in the field?

Very cool and, as you say, much simpler and more compact than the pneumatic ones. I think perhaps even the level 2 brown box would be enough caliber to get over a big tree, and maybe less loud. It might be a little too loud for POTA, since it’s a 22 caliber blank and likely sounds like a weapon.
Question… do you launch the kite line while it’s on this reel? Or do you flake it out carefully on the ground before launching? … and do you think the weight of the heavy wire at the base of the ‘dummy’ is needed? It seems like maybe the cushioned muff piece is not a bad idea.. making the projectile hit more softly. Is your impression that the added weight helps it fly farther, or less far. Appreciate the tips :)

First run out the kite line the distance that you believe you're going to need, then pull the line back in dragging the projectile so that when the projectile is in your hand all the line is in a circle below you.
The heavy wire at the projectile, I put it on there because in the video with Bob Heil , they added the weight and I believe it is they are so that you could attach a heavier rope and the momentum will be there to bring it over the tree.
If you leave the white cushioned piece on, it may cause more wind resistance, the weight of heavier line and the cushioned piece may limit the height you may get from the projectile wind resistance.
As far as 22 caliber blanks, You can use the green blanks and you can use the yellow blanks but it is recommended not to use the red tutor they are more powerful.
