  • The Year of Versatile? | Farming Simulator 25 Wish list
Welcome to what I would love to see in the next version of Farming Simulator, whether that is FS25 or FS26. I feel they could go a bit further with their Versatile Licensing and add in some of the tillage implements along with smaller tractor models such as the Nemesis and 300 MFWD series.
What are you thoughts on a possible Versatile expansion/dlc in the next version of Farming Simulator? I think this would bring a bit more North American feel to Farming Simulator 25.
    PLEASE NOTE:
The mods you see here are either on Modhub, in testing for modhub, or private.

Honestly this is all fine and dandy, but in the grand scheme of things, it'll make zero difference on your enjoyability of the game. Let me explain.
In FS there is *zero* difference between almost all of the tractors, combines, and implements aside from what their general functionality is (ie; a cultivate will cultivate, seeders / planters place in seed for crops, combine will harvest etc). Outside of horsepower, and transmission types, there isn't anything to differentiate from one piece of equipment to the next.
Those pieces of equipment you have in your video, IRL, have tramendous amounts of features, that if implemented in game, will be completely useless. There is nothing different between a 8m versatile cultivator and a 8m horsch cultivator. In game, they do *exactly* the same thing. IRL though - wildly different. Digging depths, ease of maintenance, materials used, shank composition / design, how well does it prepare the seedbed, etc.
What I am getting at is, unless Giants gets paid by versatile to add more equipment in the game, Giants is wasting resources by doing it. Having more equipment doesn't improve the playability of level of 'fun' in the game, it just waters it down with even more equipment that a small fraction of players would use at best.

First thanks for watching and commenting.
Second, you make some great points, and I think Giants is working that way to creating more individuality with the equipment. FS22 saw tillage options though the textures may not have shown it, the results in yield did.
Third, I think a strong following of the game enjoy the nostalgia of being able to use new equipment they dreamed of trying or even grew up around, and if that brings more people in, then I would not say it is a waste of resources in that path of business. But this reverts to also seeing equipment allow for more levels as new versions of the game come out similar to your valid point on it.
The modding community has the ability to support and grow that push for Giants into more dynamic and detailed farming simulation. That's what I see with some of the new DLC they brought into FS22.
