Italic was the first alphabet I learned when I took a summer class in college many years ago. I loved it! This has inspired me get pens and paper out. Thank you!
I love Italic, it's so simple and elegant :) I really liked the little artist profile at the beginning and how he joined the team too, hope you'll keep doing those!
Qué maravillosa muestra de perfección de éste maravilloso arte de la escritura, cómo se logra tanta destreza?. Gracias por compartir sus talentos. Saludos y Bendiciones

:34 who else instinctively blew air at the screen to help dry the ink? Just me? Okay. I miss doing calligraphy! I'm just an amateur, nowhere near this good. But I did a bit in high school and some years after that. Just certificates for my church, a few weddings. It's been years now. I'd have to start all over. I don't know that I'd have the patience or capacity anymore. I'm only a few minutes into the video, but so far, it's gorgeous! I love that shade of blue on "inspiring", and the way he did the "s." And, of course, anyone who can write straight with no guidelines is amazing in my book. I can't even do regular writing straight if I don't have lines!
Thanks for watching & sharing! Well you already have the base, which makes it much better for you to start than a person who has never done it! You don't need patience, calligraphy is meditation 🙃👊 #KeepWriting ✍
I take local classes and would encourage you to do so. Check out your adult education programs offered by your various colleges and school districts. There are also online classes 😀
Really beautiful and inspirational. I'm getting out my materials to practice. I love Copperplate, but your video motivates me to work on my italic forms again! Thanks! (How about some classical music?)
You're just too kind mate!! Kindness doesn't bring me any progress you know!! 😅😂 But happy to see such comments, thanks for watching & constant supporting mate !! #KeepWriting ✍🙃👊
@@CalligraphyMasters yes I shook it, thank you for replying. I just mean I can’t make strokes with it because it doesn’t come off the nib until a blob of ink falls off it, I will try with water first but I’m trying to put it over black ink so I don’t think watering it down will work
really yummy! been wanting to focus a bit on italic and this has inspired me. One thing I sometimes find a bit confusing is when you guys post links to the nibs on amazon... there's usually a whole list of different items and I'm not sure which specific tool is the one you are referencing... could I request you guys do specify which item it is if it isn't too much trouble? Thanks again for the awesome content 😊😙
I will give you the right link a bit later! Thanks for pointing this out, will try to not do it anymore! Happy you like it, some tutorials and tips on Italics coming soon as well! Thanks for watching & #KeepWriting 🙃👊
Amazon's calligraphy supplies are so limited. Check out Paper and Ink Arts and John Neal Booksellers. They have professional calligraphers there who will help you choose the right materials, and their prices are often better than Amazon's. Good luck!
I had those pen nibs for such a long time...and I gave them away a few months ago for not using them. Well, after watching this video I sort of regret it, so I think I will go buy some more.
Well don't feel bad about it mate, it should be motivating you, not putting you down! And if ya at day 2... you have time to improve... Plus Italic is not so hard to learn, just need to practice, practice, practice !! Thanks for watching mate & #KeepWriting 🙃👊
In 1830 Victor Hugo's play Hernani broke the standard rhyming scheme and literally started a riot because of stuffy old purists didn't like how it broke the rules. You sound like them.
I am 72 and thought calligraphy would be a tool for me to keep my mind active. This is the best instruction video I've watched thank you!
Pretty cool you still writing!! Glad you enjoy the video!! Thanks for watching & #KeepWriting ✍😃👊

Can you please mention some good sources to learn italic. I've been trying but something seems missing though

Can Ecoline be used in fountain pen with converter?
lovely work!
Glad you like it!! Thnaks for watching mate 🙃👊
Can you use the white ecoline somehow? I keep trying with dippens but it seems like it’s too thick
Did you shake good the bottle? White one is a bit thicker than the rest, but you can add some water till you happy
@@CalligraphyMasters yes I shook it, thank you for replying. I just mean I can’t make strokes with it because it doesn’t come off the nib until a blob of ink falls off it, I will try with water first but I’m trying to put it over black ink so I don’t think watering it down will work

Thank you for watching!!! 😍👊🙃
I just started learning Italic Script, now I feel bad, lol.....
That's great!! But why you feeling bad??
Just in comparison to this lovely work, and my own inability to make the italic lower case i look right, lol. Of course it's only day 2.
Well don't feel bad about it mate, it should be motivating you, not putting you down! And if ya at day 2... you have time to improve... Plus Italic is not so hard to learn, just need to practice, practice, practice !! Thanks for watching mate & #KeepWriting 🙃👊
*_holy shit_*
Steady hand
Who the heck disliked!!!!!
Haters, gonna hate mate :) Don't care about dislikes, glad LIKES take over always !! Thank you for watching :)
italics are 4 to 5 pws high...7 degrees slant. you keep changing angles with the nib...if you write like that don't call it Italics.
O well, I guess we are 2017 and stuff is changing... So people can't experiment and change traditional alphabets... ?
Italic script has many variations. Spacing and slant angle are key. You can call it whatever you want to!
In 1830 Victor Hugo's play Hernani broke the standard rhyming scheme and literally started a riot because of stuffy old purists didn't like how it broke the rules. You sound like them.
I love Calligraphy, but Calligraphy doesn't love me. :(
Why do you think so? How long have you been into it?
I have been into it for a year, but my calligraphy is horrible. :(
Try to stop nail biting as your hands detract from the exquisite beauty if your skills…distracting. X
background music most awful! I wouldn't trust a calligrapher who writes under the influence of noises as such!
Good but can be improved 😂😂 😂
Bad
