I've never played a war hammer game, but im confident i could pull this off, why?, because i have terrible accuracy but im a badass with melee, in resident evil 4 remake i failed to kill one regenerator with a full mag but killed 3 back to back with a knife 😂
Very good play, but how do you judge melee distance? One of the biggest reasons I kinda quit playing (other than no ammo so it's practically just Vermentide 2) is the melee ranges felt so off and like I would get hit way out of what the range of the weapon looks to be, and my melee would miss when they are up my ass.
It just depends on the weapon, some weapons have weird ranges others feel more natural. Lately thats improved with player feedback. But it ultimately comes down to experience. For the chaxe I have like 500 hours in the weapon. The crusher is just so good at stagger that ranges aren't as important.
I feel like it would be almost binary win loss; either you are able to dodge all the disablers, or a dog or trapper could wonk out, and all the snipers had extra mountain dew that morning

Based sprint-acceleration canceler. I feel like this game kinda misses the "stand your ground" sweetspot that modded Vermintide managed to achieve. At high level group-play in Darktide, you don't need to stand your ground because you just instantly murder everything. At high level solo or duo play, you generally CAN'T stand your ground, and just have to kite forever. Kiting isn't necessarily unenjoyable, but I miss the hold-the-line mentality that a coordinated team in Vermintide would take, picking a position and attempting to avoid giving up ground for as long as possible. I don't know if that's because just not enough stuff spawns in Darktide, or because movement is much stronger - maybe a combination of both. And while I complain about this, Velsix is cooking up his Kite Together verminmod to incentivize MORE kiting. Grass is always greener I guess.
Disable enemy spawns is on... The problem isn't can you do this, it's can you do it consistently in an actual mission where more enemies are continuously spawning and you might get disablers like nets or dogs flanking you while you kite everything I mean imagine a boss appeared during this, or a horde spawned in, or a pack of dogs showed up Yes, it's theoretically possible to deal with all that solo, but usually it'll be a wipe
The third video is just a live solo game. But the point you are making is not wholly wrong. At the same time you can go watch true duos monstrous specialists and in most games you are not solo so two or three players diving into melee don't even need to kite like this.
Have you seen telopots play this game or choco B? Telopots does exactly what youre referrencing all the time on stream. Also the same enemies are always the most dangerous in this game no matter what youre doing. Trappers and dogs and chaos spawns and bombers and flamers are always lethal. If you watch people true duo or clutch enough sometimes they get trapped or pounced on it happens sometimes.
"Can you do it consistently in an actual mission, with continuous spawns?" Yes, because crushers and maulers are predictable 99% of the time, unless they silent spawn. Manipulating elites while fighting other enemies is a skill you need to learn, much like everything else in this game. "Yes, it's theoretically possible to deal with all that solo, but usually it'll be a wipe." If you're bad, this is true. In actuality, it's only a wipe if you have no space and a bad loadout you took on purpose. You can kite enemies infinitely and it isn't hard, you just need a space wide enough to do it, which you'll only ever not have if you just dropped from a ledge into a tight room.
You can absolutely do this consistently in an actual mission, if by consistently you mean "for absurdly long periods of time" as opposed to by win-rate. Hishock is beatable solo, although it's far from easy. The hardest barrier once you've got the mechanics down is doing this for 60+ minutes without making a mistake or dying to a bug.
Who said you couldn't kite the A.I. ? If you run away enough you win ... sure, the A.I. can't think and mindlessly pursues you into any bottleneck, environmental obstacle, etc. The same people who think Darktide is hard is the same group who thinks Dark Souls is impossible, with enough patience you can solo at least Auric HI-STG.
It's 2024 mate, no one considers Souls impossible, which does not change the fact that the game is hard and so is highest difficulty Darktide cause both require a lot of patience and training

I've never played a war hammer game, but im confident i could pull this off, why?, because i have terrible accuracy but im a badass with melee, in resident evil 4 remake i failed to kill one regenerator with a full mag but killed 3 back to back with a knife 😂
Nice!
Wait what was the challenge? Just a bunch of melee enemies? and they possed it to you the "solo melee only with pre-buffed chainaxe" guy?
Yes lol. Correct.
Okay but can you fight 5 of every special at once??
That would likely be easier in a way.
I feel like it would be almost binary win loss; either you are able to dodge all the disablers, or a dog or trapper could wonk out, and all the snipers had extra mountain dew that morning
Is the power maul as good as that crusher is now? Never see anyone using power maul but I have one thats well rolled.
No, its a very sad weapon
@@Reginald-sc9tki hope they make it better and I have a really good chain axe on my vet I just suck dealing with basic hordes with it. I always end up taking chip damage somehow. Push attack followup i somehow screw up sometimes. I do just need to play with the weapon more though.
Which mod shows your true level?
True Level! That's the name of it.
Can i ask what's the challenge here exactly? Not to brag but there are no annoying specialists to really mess with player's decisions, and this point of a map is great for running circles.
Is it a practice for a solo auric maelstrom melee only? That's sounds interesting then!
read the description, apparantly someone told him it couldn't be done. he never claimed its super hard to do or anything
@@Leo.23232 I don't think someone said that he's just beating himself off bc its more badass to prove someone wrong on a challenge than set your own goal for yourself
Someone did, in fact, tell me and several other people that it absolutely could not be done and was impossible. I think its a very good testing system though.
Its reasonably hard by itself I will say. I can't do it with my psyker, I can do it within a few tries with my zealot and a few more tries with Vet (not shout). Both using Chain Axe Mk4. The indycrusher is great and it took like two tries to do it thanks to all the stagger. I invented a melee only challenge you can play solo on hab drayko if you really want to test your mettle across a whole game with specialists and all.
Oh, so it is mostly a chainaxe challenge then? It shouldn't be that hard with a dueling sword and skier gaze. But i can see that this would be hard with chainaxe on psyker.
Only melee Hab Drayko? Thanks, but i am not a fan of putting my balls in a hydraulic press!
At least not yet
Nah, i'd win.l
I believe you
Yet the hammer can one shot every elite in this game.
After it recieved the buffs i hoped for, yes.
🤨
Niceeee
Grass is always greener i guess. I do feel you. It's nice to be able to just fight.
Disable enemy spawns is on...
The problem isn't can you do this, it's can you do it consistently in an actual mission where more enemies are continuously spawning and you might get disablers like nets or dogs flanking you while you kite everything
I mean imagine a boss appeared during this, or a horde spawned in, or a pack of dogs showed up
Yes, it's theoretically possible to deal with all that solo, but usually it'll be a wipe
"Can you do it consistently in an actual mission, with continuous spawns?"
Yes, because crushers and maulers are predictable 99% of the time, unless they silent spawn. Manipulating elites while fighting other enemies is a skill you need to learn, much like everything else in this game.
"Yes, it's theoretically possible to deal with all that solo, but usually it'll be a wipe."
If you're bad, this is true.
Absolutely. That's the best part about Darktide really. You can do what you have the skill to achieve.
You can solo auric maelstrom monster special missions and people do lol
It's 2024 mate, no one considers Souls impossible, which does not change the fact that the game is hard and so is highest difficulty Darktide cause both require a lot of patience and training
@@infrared6973 I haven't seen anyone run a full solo on monstrous yet, telopots mostly did one. Got a link?
Slow.
Chainaxe + opportunist is op and deserves a try by most people.
Haven't had a chance to test it myself, yet.
Opportunist? Rending vs Staggered enemies? What exactly counts as a staggered enemy? Is the special attack a stagger?
@@OniGanon light attack on mark 4 also stagger. First tick does the impact follow up tick does numbers. This also works with push then follow up attack. The main drawback is sticky lights against chaff. The camera gets wonky when poxxer doesn't die on first hit.
@@OniGanon enemies who are staggered look like they've been staggered. Its really that simple.
