After changing crank shaft pully on my 2014 crv I noticed much better downshifts, its an important maintenance item!
Great video. Direct , ti the point. Helpfull insights. Much better than some of these clowns making videos with heavy background noise and no explanations. Good job. Im definitely subscribing to this gals videos.
I appreciate that!
Thanks for the info, and the tool links.
Hope it's helpful! Good luck!
That is a power steering reservoir
oh and you forgot the Ingersoll Rand w7152 zipped it right out first try no spray nothing ... through this is this...nice video thanks
The Ingersoll rand?? Is that an impact or something? No, my husband was able to break it using a cheater pipe.
Thank you so much sister
You are most welcome! I hope it helps!
Great video!
Thank you! I hope it was helpful!
What was the torque on the crank bolt when you put it back on?
Honda used to say 181 ft/lbs but have since changed it to 47 ft/lbs plus 60 degrees. I personally went with as tight as my husband could make it without a cheater pipe bc I didn't have my torque wrench for this particular repair.
Sara, how is the dorman pulley holding up? Notice any new vibrations or is the new pulley absorbing the vibrations as good as the honda pulley??
@@realityconformist424 it held up great! I had absolutely no issues with it. I just totaled the van last week with 264k miles on it. Someone rear ended me and bent my back axle unfortunately. I can't remember for sure how many miles were on it when I did this repair, but I'm pretty sure I put at least 50k on it since that repair and had absolutely no issues.
Thank you! I am sorry to hear that!! Oh noooo 😪 well, would you be able to tell me if there was a particular way you needed to install this dorman pulley?? I heard Hondas having marks on the crankshaft pulley for the sensors? Ignition sensors?? Something like that? Is there really only one way to install it??
@@realityconformist424 there is a keyway for this pulley so it will only go on in the right spot. The hardest part is breaking the bolt loose but after that it's pretty hard to mess it up bc the pulley will only go on in the right spot.
Does anyone know if if the seprated will driving like mine. It my engine time ect. Screwed
@@dustinblackburn3435 if it separates it will not screw up your engine. This is not the timing belt. Just replace the balancer pulley and you should be good to go.
Mine came off while driving and did not mess with timing
Why don't you remove the tyre to make more room for you 🤨
I didn't feel like it that day 🤷♀️😅
Why jack up on the sub frame?
I'm an amateur mechanic. If you have advice to make things safer or better I'm always open to it.
So loosen the bolt I have to pull towards the front not going left?
You are still going lefty loosey. I'm pulling to the right bc it's at the bottom of the circle. If my ratchet was straight up it would be going left. Does that make sense? I'm not sure how to describe it better lol but it is left.
@@Sara_The_Feral_Housewife thank you
@@chrisbennyblancogonzalez9119 No problem! Good luck! That bolt can be quite difficult.
@@Sara_The_Feral_Housewife yeah I’m having difficulty but I think i gotta get the adapter for the 19mm socket
@@chrisbennyblancogonzalez9119 if you jack it up your van more you may be able to slide a cheater pipe over your breaker bar to get more leverage. You also can get it off with an impact if you have a decent sized one or an air impact.
never trust a parking brake I have seen so many fail always use wheel chocks
Absolutely agree
What are the tools that you used?
I give an overview of the tools at 0:48 There are also links in the description to parts and tools needed.
This pulley bolt is not as ease to remove as this video shows. The torque on this bolt is over 180 foot pounds . I question validity of this video.
The validity? Like I didn't actually replace it? 😂 I did and it was a pain in the butt let me tell you. Luckily my husband is a hulk and broke it loose. We did it exactly like I showed in the video using a rachet to hit the metal and a breaker bar pulled towards the front. If you're weak just say that.
To put it back on, was there a certain troque for it? It did you Hulk it back on? Lol
It's pumpkin soy latte season.
