Oh, that's a thought - I've made that mistake before in which I've spent money on a puzzle which I didn't love. I could always record the Red assembly and if I love it, order the others and then film the rest but show in colour order. And if I don't think it's worth the money, then I just do the Red. Good thinking!
I love how natural and unfiltered you’re on camera. It’s endearing. Please don’t change as your subscriber list grows. “I am tickled pink”, “ milk juicer”, “box fart” - hilarious!!
I have completed the Magical Bookcase! It is crazy hard. Sorting is next to impossible. Color / pattern sorting and lots of shape sorting in the end. It has a repeated cut pattern that will test your sanity on the yellow border. There are a few places where the color/design are very close, and the repeat cut pattern will have you switching them out. It took me the better part of 2 years. (I work and have kids) It was in my formal dining room (I live in the US, and these rooms are quite common) completed it is about 6ft tall, 9 fr long. It is a wonderful puzzle, and find something new every time I study it. It is a great conversation piece. Can’t wait for those videos!
Someone else also commented about the repeat cut and difficulty of the shelf overlapping area. I will have to pay close attention with those pieces. I can't wait to do it all and then put it all together down at the jigsaw puzzle display - it's going to look amazing. I can just imagine staring at it for hours and hours!
As a courtesy to your friends I would do the 5K Colin Thompson first then whatever one you wish after. Shelley Davies puzzles are good and I have done a few of hers. I would suggest you do the red one first before deciding if you want to do the series.🤔 Cloth bags are lovely but they add expense to the jigsaw puzzle. I've had a few cardboard puzzles that had a mesh/net bag but not a cloth one. Wentworth wooden puzzles come in a cloth bag and they are expensive. 💸 I've done Minu's pond, lovely puzzle but not one that I would regard as being quick to do. I just did a check of the 500 piece puzzles done at Worlds and they were either 2022 or 2023, nothing earlier. Minu's Pond could appear as that was 2022 but if they only pick the previous and current year that would be 2023/2024. I now have the Clementoni blue car ready to do at a suitable time. Look forward to the videos of BOTYP 3 in due course.
I love Colin Thompson. My favourite of his that I’ve done is Flying Home. Loved that. You have a lovely lot of puzzles. I’ve had Christmas and birthday too and I didn’t get any puzzles. I’ve had to buy my own. 😂 Questions…. I’d try doing the red one first before buying the other colours, only because it looks super busy. If you like it then yes, because they’d look lovely together. Never heard of Lettuce, but the branding looks really odd. Like it’s been misprinted. I’m not sure cloth bags are the best idea. At least with reusable plastic bags, there is no way the pieces can get damp. I don’t think that 500 piece Ravensburger will be at worlds. It’s a lovely puzzle though. I’d do the 5000 one to put on the wall behind.
Ah...sorry that you didn't get any puzzles as gifts. I do think I will assemble Red first to make sure I enjoy it before buying all the others. The colour on the pieces of the Ravensburger Minu's Pond are so beautiful - better than what appears on the box even!
I love, love, love Colin Thompson! I have all his Cupboard Puzzles plus The Red Box, Shelf Life, and Bizarre Bookshop. None of mine exceed 1000 pieces. I applaud you for wanting to take on the 5000 and the 18000 piece puzzles. (I've looked at the big ones but know that they would never get done.) Yes, please do the 5000 CT first. As for the cloth bags, I would agree that it's a little over the top -- a biodegradable, reusable plastic zip-top would be better.
@@fortheloveofpuzzles Donnalouise, I meant to wish you a 'Happy Birthday', too. I'm also a December Birthday Girl. Nice that you got all these wonderful puzzles and the 18k you bought for yourself!
Those Colin Thompson's are amazing!! Both are on my Dream Wish List. Definitely the 5K and then the 18K...I can't wait to see how they come together! For Cobble Hill, all the colours would look beautiful all together! I like the idea of cloth bags, the less plastic the better, BUT if it compromises either the price or the puzzle quality...at the very least a plastic resealable bag for sure! The countdown for Valladolid is on, registered and hotel booked!
HEY!! So exciting that you will be joining the fun at Worlds! WOOHOO!!! I also like the idea that cloth is not plastic - ugh but I'm sure there is a cost somewhere in there which could be reduced by using something else.
Lots of great puzzles. I would do the red puzzle before buying the others to make sure you love the experience and the image. The 5000 first, then the 18k over time. Looking forward to your videos whatever order they are in!!
For sure the 5 k one first. All the people who give me puzzle gifts always want to see them done so I do them right away. I want them to know I really appreciate the gifts.
I personally would not need a cloth bag, I think a reusable zip lock bag is perfect. I pieced together the Ravensburger Minu's Pond and loved it! I have the entire set of Cobble Hills Rainbow Project, they are delightful, I would say get all the Rainbow Project and do them all! Colin Thompson has some great images, I really like them! I would do the 5000 pc Colin Thompson first, I feel it will prepare you for the 18,000 pc - how fun!!! Happy Birthday by the way, hope you had a great one! 🥳🥳🥳
I literally screamed when I saw the Red Cobble Hill on your pile! I have this jigsaw puzzle for months and haven’t done it yet, now I’m gonna wait and do it at the same time as you, Donnalouise! Let’s have fun!
i love the cobble hill rainbow project puzzles. i have the Green, Pink, and Blue ones! i say do a video with all of them if possible. Great assortment of puzzles!
I just saw a Santorini brand review on another channel and got excited. I was so happy to notice that you had a puzzle from them too and I got to see more of their images!
I've done other Hinkler puzzle and no, they don't have the tight fit like Ravensburger but they are inexpensive and very affordable. And so for their price, they are a good quality puzzle and worth the few dollars. 💜🧩
Love this haul!!! You got some great stuff here!!!! I say go with the 5000 puzzle first so you have something on the wall, then do the 18000 puzzle. What's great is they are Ravensburger so you know the quality will be good. I would rather have a reusable plastic bag over the reusable cloth bag. The cloth I feel would be more money and make the puzzle either sub par or really pricey! Lastly thanks for the heads up on the Santorini puzzle. I have it in my stash and plan on doing it in the next month or so. I got it from a puzzle swap so wasnt sure what to expect.
Santorini was an inexpensive puzzle so for that price, it's fine and fun to do. You'll have to let me know if there are a lot of false fits in the solid coloured areas and whether or not your colours matched the box better. 💜🧩
Do the 5000 first, it will go by so fast you need something to do after. For the Cobble Hill question: yes. You have so much fun ahead of you! Good haul. I think they might use some older Ravensburger at worlds. Not all last year was 2023 I think ? Anyway, I'm not a fan of the cloth bag, it does give off an exclusive and environmental vibe, but plastic bags has a lower footprint. Re-usable zip lock plastic bag is enough luxury for me. I'm not even sure about the magnetic lids.
True - I never even thought about the magnetic lids - that's lost on me as well. I don't need that either. I wish I would have paid more attention to the release year for all the puzzles that we had at Worlds. I guess I could look them up - I just assumed they were all from 2023 but maybe not...
I did the rainbow one last year and it was really difficult. Really difficult to tell the difference between some of the colors. I swore I wouldn’t do any of the individual colors in the series, but I found the green one (small box version) on clearance for $5US and bought it, not being able to resist a bargain. I think my copy of the rainbow one was a pandemic victim of poor cut quality with rough outside edges.
Ah yes, many companies outsourced their products over the pandemic and the quality suffered greatly. Trying to meet depend and they chose profits over quality.
I have a few Ro & Co puzzles (1000 piece) and they come in a cloth zip top bag within the puzzle box. I agree that while it's nice, it's also unnecessary and contributes to the cost. Like you, I'd prefer to have a resealable bag and save some money. Those puzzles you have done there are so lovely. I just did one called Purrfect Cats from Ceaco - beautful puzzle but crumbly like the Educas and time consuming putting bits you've already done back together - ugh. It is 2000 piece so quite frustrating at times.
I might put up with a crumbly 500 piece because I know I can do it quickly enough, but overall I think I've lost my patience for anything larger which is crumbly.
12:25 - I HAVE THAT!!! I did the top-left corner several years ago in around a month and then I did the bottom-left corner in like 12 days THIS December (i... uh... was a little bit depressed and spent most time in my room. so those 12 days were mostly puzzling, sometimes throughout the night to like 6am). Super excited to see you tackle this. I hope I can either finish before you, or maybe I will just puzzle along with you. I currently assumed I wouldnt touch another bag in some time, but since you already have this now, I might continue once you get to it. I promise you this puzzle is a lot of fun. I usually dont do these busy puzzles, but this one works quite well. And its soo adaptive to different playstyles in puzzling. The top-left corner I did with sorting and grabbing whatever felt easiest to do. And the bottom-left... well since I already started watching your channel since last year September, I was introduced to "picking up a piece, looking at the box and then placing it down where I think it will go" - yes, I did not know of this technique before and I've never tackled puzzles like this. But for the bottom-left corner I actually did that and it was sooo much fun seeing all those loose pieces connect at some point. I also used this as training for my perception of width and height (good for people that draw from time to time, like I do) so I didnt set any borders and didnt check was size a quarter of this puzzle has - I just wanted to go with my gut feeling, and it worked out quite well overall. So - I guess thank you? in a way?- because without trying your style, this might have been less fun a month ago when I did that bottom-left corner. If you want to do this puzzle in the 4 parts that it comes in, then maybe trying a different puzzle technique per bag might be fun? Since this puzzle allows for that so well.
How fun!!! I never thought about trying different techniques for each bag. I could easily try to sort one but I'm sure how "sortable" such a busy image is. I would definitely just grab a piece at a time and place - that seems the most logical for this style of puzzle. Imagine if I did a full flip - where would I have all the room to put the pieces??? I can't wait to do it though. I will tackle the smaller 5k one first - that's been decided. It'll be nice to have you puzzle along with me.
@@fortheloveofpuzzles I think that's good, yeah. Then I also have a bit more time before the next bag would start for me. For the top left section I did a full flip but... All inside the box. Wasn't the smartest idea, but it worked for a while. If you want to mainly go for grabbing a piece an placing it, then I think you're gonna have a fun time on all sections, no matter what. Looking forward to seeing these in the future. :)
So many great puzzles! Those two large ones are very nice, but sooooo much gold. It will be fun to see you do them. It would be fun to see the whole Cobble Hill color range, but you have a lot to do!
I did this 18K as my first “Giant puzzle”. A lot of fun - almost no blank spaces, every piece have something happening on it. The only thing - connecting orange strip between bags is very generic and false fits are veeeeery common there. Ravensburger giants also have repeating cut (its 2 or 4 - feels like 2 - repeating sections in each bag) and it’s happening exactly on generic background. Other that that - absolutely loved it )))
Thank you for the head's up on the repeat cut pattern. I'll make sure to pay special attention to the connecting shelf sections. I can't wait to get it started and then display it all together.
Yes I can confirm the repeating cut. In one bag, the cut just repeats once, you have the left 50% of the image in one bag and the right 50% of the image, and those are 2 rectangles of the same piece cut. I also needed to take a closer look at some of the wood pieces after placing them. A few of them - not many but a few - were a bit tricky to figure out. But in the end it should be doable to put the separate bags together without problems. If you do all 4 bags together, this might become more tricky.
funny thing about that cobble hill color puzzle... I did one like that it was 1,000 pieces but it had ALL the colors in just one puzzle. I didn't realize there were separate puzzles for each color too!
Hey Donna Louise! I really enjoy your videos. I have been watching since the competition in Spain. Looks like you had a great time. The usage of cloth bags might be to cut back on the use of plastic. Manufactures are receiving so much criticism when they use "too much" plastic when packaging products due to its negative impact on the environment. Cloth bags are reusable or if thrown away will disintegrate much faster than plastic. Just a thought. 😊 I have seen so many beautiful puzzles on your channel. I bought the 9000 piece Clementoni (with the hot air balloons) after seeing you put yours together. Thanks for introducing me to some amazing puzzles.😊
That's true - a cloth bag will disintegrate faster for sure and I do love that there is less plastic. I just got a puzzle in the mail and it has a resealable biodegradable of bag - now that's a winner! I can't wait to do that one on the channel as this is the type of bag I would love to see brands use. So pleased you found my channel and enjoy my videos. I just love puzzling!
I think you should dive 😅 to the 5000 poeces first and then do the 18000 pieces. I am a big fan of Cobble Hill, so I think it would be fun to see all the puzzles beside each other
I was very pleased with that one Cobble Hill that I've done so I have high hopes to love this Rainbow Project series as well. Can't wait to crack open the 5k Colin Thompson!
One of my puzzles I got for Christmas came with a resealable bag and I was just as excited as you seem to be! lol! It isn't hard to include! As for a cloth one, I don't mind them. I appreciate it isn't plastic and it could be reused for something else easily. Did the puzzle really need it? Eh, it looked like a pretty secure box, but sometimes they do open up unexpectedly. Another gift puzzle that I just opened was not only sealed with plastic wrap on the outside, but the pieces were in a sealed plastic bag on the inside too. That's overkill with the plastic, I feel. Especially since it's not a resealable one! re: The Cobble Hill one, I think it'd be fun to see 2 of them next to each other. The red and one from either side. I don't know that you have to get all of them for the video though! Start with the 5000 piece! Both look like a lot of fun, though. :)
I love how Ravensburger has changed their boxes and eliminated the plastic wrap from their boxes - not needed. I think I will do the Red puzzle first and if I love it, I'll get all the other colours. I can't wait to do those Colin Thompson ones.
@@fortheloveofpuzzles I haven't gotten a new Ravensburger in that style yet but I appreciate that they dropped the outside plastic too! Way too much plastic in the world where it's not needed...
Happy New Year :) I haven't been really active here, but I just wanted to share that I managed to complete the Clementoni Downtown 6000 in roughly 40 days. It had all the pieces, but I got two duplicate pieces for some reason. Thank you for the recommendation, I really liked assembling it!
Happy New Year to you also! Loved seeing the photo of your Clementoni Downtown! So pleased you enjoyed it. (someone somewhere is cursing that missing piece from their puzzle)
So many questions.... 😮 The only time I have ever wished for a cloth bag was with the Unidragon wooden puzzles. They come with a piece of cloth lining the box ? If they are spending on cloth would prefer a bag, especially since the box doesn't close tight. In general though, puzzle quality is more important to me. Re Cobble Hill, In that series, I've only done the 2000 piece rainbow one. That was the puzzle that solidified that I don't like busy collage style puzzles (I had previously done the Fire one by Shelley Davies). You'll like them, they are your type of busy puzzles. I guess it depends if you want to do all the colors or just the one to show the channel. Maybe build that one then decide if you like the pieces, before you buy them all... Colin Thompson, totally your type of image (lol and my worst nightmare). Awesome that you found the 18 000 for a good price. Maybe do the 5000 as practice for the larger one even though each bag is smaller than the 18 000? Looking forward to your future videos regardless of what you decide. ❤🧩♥️
I agree, a cloth bag for wooden puzzles is perhaps a smarter option just for durability. I had a few come in a drawstring bag and thought that was useful and then another one that was just in a box and really didn't like it. Those pieces are more previous and worth protecting. I might do the Red one first and film the assembly, and then if I absolutely loved it, I would invest on getting all the other colours - but I should do the red one first just to make sure before spending a lot of money. I have a question for you - I know busy images are not your thing but do you enjoy watching the timelapse of those types of puzzles being built?
@@fortheloveofpuzzles I have 💯 respect and understanding that everyone has different preferences when it comes to puzzle images. I also totally appreciate that everyone approaches doing puzzles differently. I always find it interesting to see and learn from those differences. This is your channel. You enjoy busy puzzles. You enjoy build as you sort and pick and place. The channel is called For the Love of Puzzles - we are here to see your love for this hobby. Vicky taught me that I don't need to sort - shuffling is a valid approach to building. You've taught me to spend more time looking at the image , using the image to identify pieces. That doesn't happen if I only watch videos on creators doing my style of images in my style of building. TLDR: I am interested in and will continue to watch all content that I can learn from.
Nice haul, so many great puzzles! I think it is better to do the 5K puzzle, then the 18K puzzle. The Cobble Hill puzzles would be awesome to be completed but I know that can be expensive. I loved the Orchid and Santorini puzzles. Grateful House puzzles come with a cloth bag and the quality of the puzzle pieces are premium. I guess every puzzle company is different, they know that a cloth bag will impress some people. I am happy with an 8x10 poster, a ziploc bag and a sturdy box :)
I've not had the chance yet to get my hands on a Grateful House puzzle - still on my wishlist. I would say that I'm a puzzler, not a collector of puzzles though, so the extra item like a cloth bag is sort of lost on me. I would also be happy with "an 8x10 poster, a ziploc bag and a sturdy box" as you put it.
@@darrylbatchem8985 We got an AirBnB this year. Last year we stayed at the Hotel Felipe which was pretty close to walk to the venue. I suggest that you spend the money to get breakfast if staying at a hotel so you don’t worry about food every morning. 💜🧩
Ho nice 18000 I was watching the Worlds live on youtube last September and in a hugely impulsive moment during down time I bought the Ravensburger 18000 Paradise Sunset for a good price which got me thinking a little. I'm going to mix the four 4500 bags together and do an 18000 piece jigsaw puzzle. Looks around, damn I need more boards.
Oh wow, mixing the bags! Have fun! You are braver than me as I've been told they use a repeat cut pattern so I don't want to have to deal with a bunch of false fits. I'll have to go look up Paradise Sunset as I can't picture it in my mind at the moment...
@@fortheloveofpuzzlesI bought the Paradise Sunset at a good price and it is still in my plastic bins waiting its turn to be done. Looks difficult enough without mixing bags LOL.
I suggest the 5,000 piece, I hate white walls. I am not a fan of the drawstring bag, I feel it doesn't seal enough and you could lose pieces. I got a dollarstore puzzle that had a resealable bag, if they can do it, everyone can.
I am looking forward to having something else up on that wall behind me and think this will look so nice. And I agree, every company could use small sticker tabs to seals boxes rather than fully wrap them, and a resealable bag (biodegradable ones even) are not that expensive and should be used.
Going to try to answer all the questions 😁 I'd rather have a decently priced puzzle with good pieces than a fancy bag. A resealable bag made of recycled plastic would be cool. Have not done Lettuce brand puzzles. I think they could try to throw you off at World's by including some older puzzles. Test run the Cobble Hill red part of the rainbow before spending money on the other colors. Definitely think you should do the 5,000 Colin Thompson first. I'm looking forward to the 3-D Pintoo puzzles and the two Colin Thompsons 😊💙💚🧩
I think it would be fun to see all the Cobble Hill colors together. I think you should do the 5000 piece first so you can get it framed and be able to hang it. I would rather have a zip lock bag than a cloth one and have a better quality puzzle. Somehow they are making up for the cost of the bag. I wouldn't be surprised to see older puzzles at Worlds. Very nice haul!
We are definitely paying for the added price of the cloth bag somewhere - wether in puzzle price or reduce piece quality of both. I would love to see older puzzles at Worlds as well - would throw everyone off I think.
Okay, I know I already wrote the long comment about the 18000 Piece Puzzle, but I fear I'm gonna write a second long comment now, at least it fits since you talked about Spain again. So... I tried the Lupines Puzzle today (if you remember, I wrote about that some time ago, but then I was moving places and I felt a little depressed, but then I was also scared to try Lupines because my first attempt felt like it would be the one I have to compare to the list of people from Spain so I practiced some other puzzles first)... and long story short - I KNOCKED it out of the park. I was shocked when I stopped the timer, because I didnt look at the timer the entire time. My timer was down to 28:18, which means Lupines took me 1:01:42. And that is not only 10th place on the list of Group A participants, it is also the fastest time I had on a 500 piece puzzle so far. Even the "Dolphins in the Coral Reef" 500 piece puzzle, which I've practiced for the 3rd time the day before was on 1:03:59, which is my best time for it as well. Now I know I can probably add 1-2min of stress time on top of the Lupines time, and also I knew the image quite well at this point, from watching the WJPC and several content creators talk about this puzzle. I also never really looked at the box while working on the puzzle. The sky is just a gradient so I dont need the box, and the Lupines are too confusing to use the box for help. What I did was I quickly finished the sky, then put together the border of the grass section to get an idea of how much is left, then I grabbed the Lupines that felt like they were the largest, so they would have to be in the front... then I looked at them in confusion for like half a minute and instead did the opposite. I grabbed all the pieces that felt like they were the FURTHEST away in the distance. The smallest Lupines and the super thin grass lines, and I worked my way from top to bottom, finishing all the purple Lupine parts first until all that was left were the bright pink Lupines in the front. Maybe that helps you in your next attempt? I also did no color sorting or shape sorting. I spread out all the pieces in a big rainbow-shape across the table and flipped them all to face upwards. Then I grabbed all bright sky pieces and brought them in front of me, in the place that was left empty (thats why I spread them out in a rainbow shape before, so that in front of me its all empty). And then when I was done with the bright part of the sky, I grabbed the rest of the sky pieces, brought them in front of me and quickly put them into place. With the sky the was no problem to do it this way. I can understad that grouping purple and pink Lupines might be necessary if you need the help of that, but at that point I was mostly just praying that I picked a piece that can already fit somewhere, from top to bottom in the grass section. My expectation for Lupines was somewhere between 1:10:00 and 1:20:00 --- and I'm so happy that I even got close to the hour mark. I will use this as motivation to get back into stable income, to buy more practice puzzles and get more consistent to get to around 60min, so that once I feel ready to travel to Spain, I can participate in at least 2 rounds. That would already be worth it for me. I also wish you the best of luck, that maybe with my explanation on what I did, the next time you try this, you will finally beat it, and I hope its not bad that I share my time, I really dont want to discourage you, instead I would really get excited to hear from you should you manage to beat it in the 90min.
CONGRATULATIONS!!! That is awesome on your time and your technique - thanks for sharing. It is actually very helpful. I just don't know how to approach this puzzle well at all but I understand how you did it and will give it a go the next time I try Lupins. WOOHOO!!! Even if you only got to do one round at Worlds, it's so much fun and well worth it.
I did the Manu's pond. Not the easiest puzzle, but not specially hard either. It took me 2 hours 20 minutes. I think you will manage to do it in around 90 minutes.
I actually decided to do it today with Alison as a pairs because I saw it was used in Spain for a pairs competition recently. Super AMAZED with our time. The colours on the pieces were better than on the box.
You are a fast speed puzzler - fast enough to qualify to the finals in every category. I’m not able to finish a 500 piece puzzle in 90 minutes, not even London postcard… that’s slow 😅
Thank you! It’s taken me a lot of practice though and I find that I am so image dependent. I’ve say I’m a middle of the pack speed puzzler. I’ve realised recently how important good lighting is to speed puzzling. 💜🧩
How do you know that 5000 piece Ravensburger is from 2014? Does it say so somewhere in the box or...? For the re-usable bag, it's not a bad idea, but I really don't want it on expense of the puzzle quality. After all, the time you actually use the bag is very limited. Most of the time it just contains the pieces and the rest of the time it just sits empty in the box.
There was a date written on the box for the 5k puzzle. Most Ravensburger puzzles (if not all now) have a date on them. I'm assuming it's the date of original release.
I just buy a box of the Ziplock food bags and use those for the pieces - they're not that expensive and the large ones hold 1000 piece or 1500 of a smaller size piece puzzle. I can then store the bag in the box and avoid the pieces ending up everywhere.
OMG! The 18k piece puzzle looks like heaven to me. If it was in at least 18 separate bags that is lol. I vote for that next! I would love to see thst followed by the 5000 piece puzzle. What a wonderful gift. Between Kelly and your friends, you have such wonderful love and support. I will also be eager to see the 3D puzzle video. Pintoo is the best so that is sure to be a good time. Regarding the cloth bags: they are a nice touch and I do like having a plastic free option but I agree that I would likely enjoy the puzzle more if the money would be spent on the pieces. I got a puzzle from Unified Pieces which is a small company based in the US. Amazing artwork. I got the Catstronaut puzzle. The box is very nice with the magnetic closure like your puzzle and the bag is a black velvet zippered bag. It comes with a poster of the image that has its own stand to prop it up so super fancy. The pieces feel silky soft and look great. I hope the fit is good because after all the time and money spent on all the other aspects, I will be upset if it's as crumbly as coffee cake. I agree that fit is way more important than the wrapping. I've never heard of the brand Lettuce. I would be interesting in finding out more about them. The puzzle you got for practice for Worlds is beautiful and does look just like something they would pick. How do you think it would do for a pairs qualifier?
Oooh…please let me know what you think of the Unified Pieces puzzle once you get to doing it. I’ve heard of them and was wondering if they are worth it or not. I think that Minu’s Pond puzzle would be tricky enough to use for pairs over individuals at Worlds. 💜🧩
I would rather have exceptional piece quality/cut than literally anything else. My second priority is a poster of any size, and my third wish list item is a box that is not oversized for the amount of pieces (less shelf space). I think a cloth bag is unnecessary and for me is a waste of money.
I also have my accomodation booked for spain!! 🎉 i'm signed up for individuals and pairs, but i'm still looking for a team! i hope they enable the chat they had last year very soon i've never seen a cloth bag with puzzles before. unfortunately, often cloth bags can actually be worse for the environment from their production efforts. i recently noticed that Trefl is doing cellophane (i believe it's called in English) bags! it's the ones that look like plastic but are a bit stiff and very crinkly, and they are actually made from wood fibre so are degradable!
YEAH!!! More people coming to Spain - so awesome! I hope they will open the chat so people can get into teams/pairs well in advance of the competition. It was helpful to many last year. I love the idea of a resealable biodegradable bag.
I would do the red cobble hill puzzle first to confirm that you love doing it before spending money on the other colours xx
Oh, that's a thought - I've made that mistake before in which I've spent money on a puzzle which I didn't love. I could always record the Red assembly and if I love it, order the others and then film the rest but show in colour order. And if I don't think it's worth the money, then I just do the Red. Good thinking!
Yes, good thinking. I was going to say get all the colors first, but this way is much more practical.
Great puzzles!❤️😊🧩
Thank you!! 💜🧩

I'm so pleased that you got a copy of The Blue Car! It's going to be so much fun next weekend to watch all the videos as Premieres!
I love Colin Thompson. My favourite of his that I’ve done is Flying Home. Loved that. You have a lovely lot of puzzles. I’ve had Christmas and birthday too and I didn’t get any puzzles. I’ve had to buy my own. 😂
Questions….
"a biodegradable, reusable plastic zip-top would be better" this should be industry standard! I can't wait to do these Colin Thompsons!
@@fortheloveofpuzzles Donnalouise, I meant to wish you a 'Happy Birthday', too. I'm also a December Birthday Girl. Nice that you got all these wonderful puzzles and the 18k you bought for yourself!
@@salishseaquest7952 Happy belated birthday to you also
Those Colin Thompson's are amazing!!
I just watched a video on how puzzles are made and WOW! I had no idea there was so much involved. Amazing!!!!!
I find it so cool how they use air to separate the pieces like a mini-hurricane and then funnel them into a bag. 💜🧩
Lots of great puzzles. I would do the red puzzle before buying the others to make sure you love the experience and the image. The 5000 first, then the 18k over time. Looking forward to your videos whatever order they are in!!
I do think I will try the Red one first and if I like it, I'll buy the remaining ones. I just think it would look so lovely all displayed together.
For sure the 5 k one first. All the people who give me puzzle gifts always want to see them done so I do them right away. I want them to know I really appreciate the gifts.
That's a great idea - I know they will love to see it done and up on the wall.
Thank you! I did indeed have a lovely birthday! I can't wait to crack open those Colin Thompson puzzles! 💜🧩
Hi my dear, I would love to see all the colored puzzle, that would be nice for a series. Love and nice job. ❤
I think I might do the red one first and if I love it, then I will get all the colours and make one big video. 💜🧩
I literally screamed when I saw the Red Cobble Hill on your pile! I have this jigsaw puzzle for months and haven’t done it yet, now I’m gonna wait and do it at the same time as you, Donnalouise! Let’s have fun!
Nice!!! I'm excited to do it and if I like it, I'll grab the other colours as well.
i love the cobble hill rainbow project puzzles. i have the Green, Pink, and Blue ones! i say do a video with all of them if possible. Great assortment of puzzles!
I will definitely build the Red one and if I love it, I'll get all the other colours as well. 💜🧩
Trying to meet depend and they chose profits over quality.
just love the 18,000 piece puzzle, how exciting. Go with your first feeling and dive into the 5,000 piece first
Yup, thinking the 5k one first and get it up on the wall. I think it would look great in the background.
Lots of busy puzzles and I can't wait to do them all! I plan on doing the Red first and if I love it, I'll get all the other colours as well.
Ooohh, I have the Pintoo jar, but didn't know they have a clock😍😍
I can’t wait to build them all! And did you see the little lamp that was in the Advent Calendar? 💜🧩
Awesome puzzle haul, would live to see all the cobble hill colors puzzles assembled together. Cannot wait for 5000, and 18000
I think they would look so lovely all displayed next to one another in a rainbow!
5k, then 18k!! Great puzzles 😍 cloth, not needed, but reusable plastic awesome. Cobble all in order....excited for 18k
I loved so many puzzles in this haul! I can't wait to crack into them all.
I love Cobble Hill it would be fun to see all the colors. Oh the 5,000 piece looks so fun you should dive into that one.
I so want to crack into that 5k one - love the image and it has a poster!!! It's going to be so much fun - I just know it.
funny thing about that cobble hill color puzzle... I did one like that it was 1,000 pieces but it had ALL the colors in just one puzzle. I didn't realize there were separate puzzles for each color too!
I've seem the collage one that has all the colours in it - looks quite pretty as well. 💜🧩
Happy New Year :)
I haven't been really active here, but I just wanted to share that I managed to complete the Clementoni Downtown 6000 in roughly 40 days.
The only time I have ever wished for a cloth bag was with the Unidragon wooden puzzles.
My wife and I are trying to get to Vallalodid in September as a singles and pairs.
YEAH!!! That would be awesome! And nearer to the time, they might open up the chat in the registration for people trying to find teammates.
@@fortheloveofpuzzles Having been there last year Donnalouise do you have any suggestions for accommodation near the venue?
Going to try to answer all the questions 😁
I'd rather have a decently priced puzzle with good pieces than a fancy bag.
Thank you for answering all my silly questions. I really can't wait to do so many of these puzzles - one of my favourite hauls yet! 💜🧩
Do all of the colors. I have seen one of them done. Do the 18,000 first, i like bookshelves.
I can't wait to discover all the things depicted in this crazy big bookshelf.
i need a milk juicer in my life !lol. your haul is PUZZLETASTIC. 😆
🤣🤣 It was the first thing that came to mind!
I almost spit out my food at "milk juicer" 🤣🤣
Hehehehe you're welcome! 💜🧩
Lovely puzzles!! Do the 5k first so we can see it in the background while you film the 18k :)
Great idea!
Great puzzle haul!!! I would do the 5k first then the 18k. All the colors for the Cobble Hill puzzles would be a great video
I mean, if you have Red then you kind of need all the others as well, right?!?! 🤣🤣
5000 first as a warmup!
Always good to warmup first!
I would rather have exceptional piece quality/cut than literally anything else. My second priority is a poster of any size, and my third wish list item is a box that is not oversized for the amount of pieces (less shelf space). I think a cloth bag is unnecessary and for me is a waste of money.
I think our priorities match up exactly!
I agree about the box size. It's so frustrating to try to find space for puzzle boxes that are half empty!
Totally agree. Decent quality puzzle and resealable bag and yes to the box not being massively oversized
I would go for the 5000 and then the 18000.
I do think that will be the plan
Rainbow series: do separate videos for each color 😂
What could I chat about during each video's timelapse...??? Any suggestions...
How about do half of the 18000... then break it up with the 5000... then finish the 18000.
I think the issue with that would be storage and having the area to work on two puzzles nearly simultaneously.
I also have my accomodation booked for spain!! 🎉 i'm signed up for individuals and pairs, but i'm still looking for a team! i hope they enable the chat they had last year very soon
i've never seen a cloth bag with puzzles before. unfortunately, often cloth bags can actually be worse for the environment from their production efforts. i recently noticed that Trefl is doing cellophane (i believe it's called in English) bags! it's the ones that look like plastic but are a bit stiff and very crinkly, and they are actually made from wood fibre so are degradable!
YEAH!!! More people coming to Spain - so awesome! I hope they will open the chat so people can get into teams/pairs well in advance of the competition. It was helpful to many last year. I love the idea of a resealable biodegradable bag.
Great haul! ❤️🧩I absolutely loved the Flox puzzle. Sadly, the shipping to the USA is more than the cost of the puzzle. ❤️🧩
Yeah, shipping sucks! Which makes it tricky for smaller companies that want to open up to bigger international markets. 💜🧩
