'If I Apologized' (End Credits to the 2005 movie 'MirrorMask').
Neil Gaiman/Dave McKean/Iain Bellamy/Josefine Cronholm.
I wish they'd let Neil Gaiman to write more scripts for films. This movie is amazing, in its own mysterious way 🔭
I suggest you check out some of Dave McKean's work, he directed and co-wrote the movie. Unfortunately he doesn't get enough credit for it
@@aaronmuller2545 there was an interview during a Con event where Neil Gaiman actively tried to discredit Dave on almost the entire film which is one of the largest reasons I sincerely can’t stand the freak of a writer.
@@laurend.statham1742 damn, that sucks. is it on youtube?
he also wrote this song!
He's definitely got a unique, otherworldly style of writing.
Why it is absent on spotify? It is a true masterpiece
I was looking for the OST on Spotify as well. Thought I miss-typed the title or something.
LITERALLY THIS FUCKING SUCKS
Do u guys know any similar type songs idk what genre this is but is fire!
event better than the movie itself
@@aly5386Royksopp makes music similar to this!
Just watched this film again tonight after years. Weird to think its been nearly 20 since I watched it last, yet the soundtrack always knocks me right back to the past like it was yesterday. Especially this song, such a surreal feeling.
This is like a beautiful fever dream like when a childs memory is not formed completely and everything is a fusion of colors.
That's basically my memory of this movie. I remember watching it ten plus years ago and I can only remember slight flickering colors, masses in the vague shape of my friends that introduced this movie to me. It's a real trip to listen to this again.
literally i remember seeing this when i was like 3-4
One of the few times I'm disappointed in Spotify. How could you leave this one hanging? I expect you to apologize.
it isnt on apple music either 😢
If I apologised
it wouldn't make it all unhappen
wouldn't make the darkness go away
If I apologised
it wouldn't mean I was forgiven
wouldn't mean you wanted me to stay
But
it's a dream
when you seem
to be walking into the sun
we're on first
unrehearsed
and we still don't know what we've done
so we don't say anything.
If I apologised
I don't suppose you'd even notice
even though I'd whisper it inside
If I apologised
we could be the perfect couple
Well we could, but only in my mind
but
if you ask
for the mask
then we're stumbling on through the dark
But we wait
it's too late
And we only had to be asked
so we don't say anything.
It couldn't hurt to try it
It couldn't hurt too much to try
It's there beyond the quiet
it couldn't hurt too much to fly...
To me it sounds like, "then we'll tumble on through the dark".
still listening even in 2021.
Same
Same
Saaaaame
2022!!!
2023 February
still an absolute banger after all these years
This song always reminded me of "Letter - from The Lost Days" by Akira Yamaoka in SIlent Hill 3. I love both of their voices.
Get out of my head, I listened to those two together a lot! So strange.
YES!!!!!!!!!
this has been my favorite movie for like 7 yrs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its so bizarre in all the right ways
is it still your favorite movie doe
@@linkb00bz .......... Hungry !!
@@barrowwraith1687 hungry??
@@linkb00bz that's what the Cat's say but they are only hungry for words so she has to feed them pages from 'The Really Useful Book'
@@barrowwraith1687 still hungry O_o
I still come back to this song. It helps me think and move on from things. It's weird how a single song can help
Same bro I'm glad I'm not the only one
Idk if there is a name for what this song makes me feel but its like something the show dead like me would play, it reminds me of rain, a very dramatic complicated love story, late nights in a very chill club scene, relaxing coffee shops, honestly might just be what the mid and early 2000’s where right before what was left of the 90’s inspiration died out.
Veeeery accurate. Listen to Imogen Heap and Frou Frou if you want similar feeling songs
@@jordanwilliams2780 oh cool thx bud, always need good background music for when im reading. Or in the feels
@@jordanwilliams2780 Imogen Heap and Frou Frou are so good 😭
It makes me feel the same way Dido songs affect me :0
Canvas by Imogen Heap gives me a similar feeling.
i love the movie AND the song....
I absolutely love this movie.....so trippy I love it! The music is awesome too.....extremely relaxing and soothing. Better than a massage from an expert.
re-watched this movie recently, i forgot how damn trippy it is! it’s so good and the music is beautiful.
2:21 and on is pure freaking magic.
+Cotygeek That's my favourite part
First day of autumn. Feels like this track hits the spot! 🥰🍁🍂
beautiful movie and song.
GOD I LOVE THIS SONG
2024 and this soundtrack still hits
Mirrormask was a weird movie I grew up watching a lot. Going back to it years later, the movie cut deep. Masterpiece.
This movie was amazing and inspiring.
It's one of my favorite movies as well and it is bizarre
that clarinet is one of my favorite sounds in the world
That is cool mate, but it's actually a soprano sax in the recording
This song is amazing and it warmed my heart 😂😭😄👍
Gorgeous backdrops, they really fit the song. :)
Imagine this as a video game scene that would be the craziest thing ever all the places in mirror mask
ahh so relaxing. I love this movie with a passion
This song is just Art
Who is still here in 2024 😭💕
I was blown away from the first second of the song
but if you ask for the mask, then we're tumbling on through the dark 🖤
This song randomly popped in my head … 😮💨😮💨
Love this movie it's so underrated.
I love this song
I love this movie and this song. Wish the soundtrack was easier to find.
I remember being terrified of the paper eating human-faced cats in this film
i just want to live in this world its so beautiful
Every year I check for this song on iTunes 💔
I don't mean to nitpick about the description, but Iain Ballamy was the composer the music; Neil Gaiman, the writer of the film, wrote this song.
I'm like addicted to this song now
I need to go to Japan too
Leiah the Light Wolf why lol
Perfection,will be an under statement...
I LOVE THIS SONG AND THE MOVIE♥️ 2022
Ten years of bliss
Love sleeping to this, awesome
Best song
Does anyone have any recommendation for similar tracks?
This movie makes me feel like there’s a great destination that I’m really familiar with, but I haven’t got the directions, and I don’t remember how to get there anymore.
“don’t remember how to get there anymore” totally feel the same
I love this so much
Awesome Music
What genre would you call this? I only vaguely recognize the guitars as...spanish? I think?
I absolutely love this sound and want to hear more
Alternative Trip Hop I guess, has a Portishead feeling to it
@@Drekon009 I absolutely love Portishead, I can see the comparison you're drawing
beautiful
Josephone Cronholm...magical.
But if you ask........
For the mask.........
Mirror mask
This shit still slaps 🅱️👌👌
if you're gonna nitnick, so am I. it's actually Dave McKean and Neil Gaiman.
CrimsonCrowess ummmm I think it nit-pick
CrimsonCrowess And if you are so will I...it’s Josefine Cronholm. 😁😁
Yes, Dave McKean and Neil Gaiman get the writing credit, but it was arranged by Iain Bellamy and Ashley Slater and performed by Josefine Cronholm and Ashley Slater.
So I’d guess that Neil Gaiman wrote the words, Josefine Cronholm sang them, Dave McKean wrote the melody and progression, Ashley Slater and Iain Ballamy wrote the rest of the parts and shaped it up, Iain Ballamy played the sax part and Ashley Slater and Dave McKean (who’ve done other work together) put it together in the studio and played the other parts. I’m just guessing though.
whats another song that sounds like this?
sneakerpimps 6 underground, genie in a bottle christina aguilera, white town your woman, freshly ground's id like...
oh and royksopp's vision one reminds me of the progression
I get reminded of:
Mono- life in Mono
Gus Gus- is Jesus your pal?
Fly in the Freedom, from Sonic Adventure 2 Battle
Also, Soldier of Love, by Sade
Is anyone know what genre is this song? And is there any other songs like this?
@Iqram Onestop Have you listened to to the album called Felt Mountain, by Goldfrapp? It has a similar feel to this track. :-)
It kinda reminds me of Frou frou or imogen heap. I recommend
