“Fierce Battle” Near Severodonetsk | “Bodies Recovered” From Moskva | Kyiv Asks for Rocket Launchers

- Ukraine says its forces are fighting "fierce battles" with Russian troops around Severodonetsk in eastern Luhansk region. At least six civilians have been reportedly killed and eight wounded in the region amid the stepped-up fighting. Russian military acknowledged that it had launched cruise missiles at Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia.
Meanwhile, Ukraine’s Intelligence claims Russia took bodies of dead soldiers, equipments from sunken Moskva cruiser. Russia has offered to unblock Ukrainian ports in exchange for the West lifting its sanctions against Moscow. Zelensky says he can only talk with Putin once the Russian President steps out of his "bubble" of "alternative reality".

With regard to Ukraine and Russia, there is simply zero justification for Putin to invade the sovereign nation of Ukraine and start a destructive war. If ethnic Russians living in Ukraine believe they are oppressed, they can always choose to move back to Russia. Ukrainian citizens (and all country citizens) have the right to determine how their own country should be governed and run. No foreign country, including Russia, has the right to force those determinations and decisions on the citizens of a sovereign country.
Around 20,000 Ukrainian troops are facing encirclement in northern Donbas. Russians had been working on encircling them for about a month, and are now believed to around only 2 weeks away from completing the encirclement, a standard Soviet tactic known as a “Cauldron”.
The Russians have now blown up the bridge behind the Ukrainian troops, essentially blocking off their potential retreat path.
Soon these troops will be lost, killed & captured.
It is completely beyond me, knowing what the Russians had been trying to do there, the Ukrainian high command chose not give retreat orders to their troops.
Such experienced and battle hardened troops are not readily replaceable.
