I don't usually follow japanese idols, but they never fail to make me smile and that's why I always enjoy what they do. I specially felt the difference in P48. I really like Korean idol trainees for their synchronization but sometimes it's so perfect and they are so so focused on visuals, I feel like I'm watching perfect dolls, but japanese's goals is clearly to make you smile. Even here you can see some doing "not so appealing" expressions but that look cute and funny.
J-idols normally has their own variety show especially the female groups w/c will show you who are the members who are good at the variety (either too funny, too smart or too sporty or too coward) so it would be nice if you check those and sometimes they have their own series too and this time it will show w/c ones are the possible professional actress in the future, be it in theater or film. e.g. Sakura Miyawaki became famous in Japan because she's a variety genius, instead of sulking w/ her zero athleticism, she used it to her advantage and she can definitely act + that smart brain of hers is admirable + her star-quality and pretty face. Is Sakura the prettiest Jpop idol that I have seen? Then the answer is no, there's a lot of pretty girls but if I have to point one girl then it would be Mai "Maiyan" Shiraishi of Nogizaka46, since a toddler she's really good looking and even now that she's in her late twenties, in fact there's a lot of pretty girls in Nogizaka46's history cuz it was like the mgt. picked the pretty & elegant girls in a classroom especially the 1st Gen and 2nd Gen members. While the mgt. picked the cool & charismatic girls for Keyakizaka46 (now called Sakurazaka46) while the cute & funny girls for Hiragana Keyakizaka46 (now called Hinatazaka46). AKB48 used to have the title as variety queens but rn it's Hinatazaka46. So if you want to laugh so hard then check their variety show, first check "Hiragana Oshi" and followed "Hinatazaka de Aimashou" both are in keyavids website, no need to download since you can watch it directly w/ eng sub. Now if you want to watch the best performers then you have to watch the stage performances of Keyakizaka46, some are available in keyavids site too.

I don't usually follow japanese idols, but they never fail to make me smile and that's why I always enjoy what they do. I specially felt the difference in P48. I really like Korean idol trainees for their synchronization but sometimes it's so perfect and they are so so focused on visuals, I feel like I'm watching perfect dolls, but japanese's goals is clearly to make you smile. Even here you can see some doing "not so appealing" expressions but that look cute and funny.
J-idols normally has their own variety show especially the female groups w/c will show you who are the members who are good at the variety (either too funny, too smart or too sporty or too coward) so it would be nice if you check those and sometimes they have their own series too and this time it will show w/c ones are the possible professional actress in the future, be it in theater or film.
e.g. Sakura Miyawaki became famous in Japan because she's a variety genius, instead of sulking w/ her zero athleticism, she used it to her advantage and she can definitely act + that smart brain of hers is admirable + her star-quality and pretty face. Is Sakura the prettiest Jpop idol that I have seen? Then the answer is no, there's a lot of pretty girls but if I have to point one girl then it would be Mai "Maiyan" Shiraishi of Nogizaka46, since a toddler she's really good looking and even now that she's in her late twenties, in fact there's a lot of pretty girls in Nogizaka46's history cuz it was like the mgt. picked the pretty & elegant girls in a classroom especially the 1st Gen and 2nd Gen members. While the mgt. picked the cool & charismatic girls for Keyakizaka46 (now called Sakurazaka46) while the cute & funny girls for Hiragana Keyakizaka46 (now called Hinatazaka46).
AKB48 used to have the title as variety queens but rn it's Hinatazaka46. So if you want to laugh so hard then check their variety show, first check "Hiragana Oshi" and followed "Hinatazaka de Aimashou" both are in keyavids website, no need to download since you can watch it directly w/ eng sub. Now if you want to watch the best performers then you have to watch the stage performances of Keyakizaka46, some are available in keyavids site too.
