He’s definitely pushing forward with the more adult evolution. I think every single solo brings in the idea of opposition or duality. For IN, he’s more than the baby we know…he wants to be seen legitimately as a man and an artist! The idea of creating the sculpture or being responsible for the form emerging from stone (making life from the stone) does grant the sculpture immortality. I also think this depicts the balancing act between inspiration and dangerous obsession which led many artists on a descent to madness. The hallucination itself is beautiful and inspiring yet intoxicating and addicting…the light and dark.
Hallucination has been my favorite since the first moment I heard it. I LOVE Ultra and Railway, but there's just something about Hallucination that pushes it to the top of my list.

When watching live I missed the comment. It says that the mv is inspired by pygmalion myth.. I looked it up and is so interesting. From google: The Roman poet Ovid, in his Metamorphoses, Book X, relates that Pygmalion, a sculptor, makes an ivory statue representing his ideal of womanhood and then falls in love with his own creation, which he names Galatea; the goddess Venus brings the statue to life in answer to his prayer. Now I dont know if this was really inspiration behind the MV but this idea is great. I can see the story aboive in MV, Venus brings the statue to life= bringing his love to life by cracking the stone at the end of MV IN did amazing job. This is probably my fav solo or it is tied w Lee Know😄
You're right that whole story behind the mv is that I.N is a sculptor trying to recall the person from his dream so he can recreate the image. He keeps dreaming of this person and you'll see him start awake, and scramble frantically to find a tool to draw with
In my opinion, I think you should avoid trying to find the theme of the HOP album in the solo songs. Walkin On Water and Bounce Back are the theme heavy songs of the album, U was added because they didn't think it'd fit very well in ATE, and the solos have their own themes because each member has a different concept. For instance, trying to find something akin to the dichotomy of white and black would become difficult when you get to So Good, Youth, etc. Some solos might have a similar theme, but most of them don't. Tldr: I think Roscoe's overthinking the solos right now 😭😭

All the elements in the mv can be related with the myth: the atelier, the sculptures, the lights ( as praying to a sun/god), the water ( as Pygmalion praised to the goddess of love),the block of marble. Maybe he is both the art and the artist. We are all life long works in progress, but in trying to create art, you must create yourself as an artist. With every piece of art you create, you continue to sculpt yourself as an artist, whatever art or artist means to you. The goal of creating great art and being a great artist become one in the same, and the end result is that the artist’s ultimate masterpiece is their own self.
I doubt all the songs on the album have a connection in ideas or aesthetics, it is SKZ Player after all. That's what I didn't understand in his reaction to Chan , taking it as a SKZ project, when it was an individual work, and he had to analyze it for himself. I think he'll realize when he finishes the album, to look at the songs and MVs individually and not as SKZ (3racha). If they kept the name SKZ Player, it's for a reason.
I also get shades of older times (as the sculptor in his studio he is wearing a loose shirt/smock outfit and the set could be from olden times). IN then dons a crop top and black jacket with a wrap skirt over his trousers, this is the height of current fashion. I see this as a recurring theme in the album the older juxtaposed with the current.
I can’t remember the exact words he used but Chan once compared I.N’s potential in the beginning to a dot on a canvas. It might be small in the beginning but could be the start of something in the future. All the art references reminded me of that because overtime he has grown not just physically but as a performer and vocalist.
The artist is trying make an immortal art piece. The idea of what he sees in his mind's eye and process of creating it can sometimes be infuriatingly slow (hurry hurry) and take more than one try (the pile of ruble). Daddy Toast comin for the jugular now and I like it.
IMO, the guys solos are something they themselves ( not the group) wanted to explore. I see no connection between them except that. I think you’re overthinking these
