The best choke and shell combo in my 301 Turkey .410 ended being the Apex Ninja 9.5#s and the Pattermaster Code Black choke. That Pattermaster just tightens up the core of the pattern. The stock choke did very well with the Apex ammo also. Good luck this spring! 👍🏻🍺
The ninja 9.5 out of my mossberg 500 410 TSS turkey gun with IC .385 shot ok. I going to try a jeb's. But my mossberg SA 410ga TSS turkey gun. Using a IC .385 and ninja 9.5 done very well. Only difference in the 2 Apex loads. Ninja has 8 to 10 pellets more.
Very good review. Glad to see you using shoot and see targets,I see many reviews where guys don’t . I have the same gun and use the factory choke with the federal #9 tss and my pattern if much tighter than yours at 20 yards. I’ve heard people say every gun performs different and I now believe that to be true.
@@hauntedoutdoors yessir! We get after it ahaha I will be tuning in your future vids & checking back on your older ones! That buck vid’s got my attention 🤣
Surprised you are hunting turkey with so fine a shot as 9.5. I suppose if you are looking for headshots maybe it doesn't matter. So those 40 yard shots I might use #6. Nice video, clean. Install an Owl nest box on your property to check tick hosts.
Hey Mark! TSS loads have completely changed the landscape of turkey loads. Once you do some digging you'll see that 9.5 shot TSS is more than capable of knocking birds down at 40 yards and beyond! Thanks for watching! -Jordan
To be honest the 2 Apex loads and the Foxtrot were all incredible. I'd be happy and confident to hunt with any of the three! Thanks for watching! -Jordan
I should have zoomed in on each pattern...and practiced my aim a little bit! Lol. I'll film another one soon with a little bigger target to help my cause and to show the patterns more accurately. Thanks for watching! -Jordan
Looks like the Federal load consistently shoots low compared to the other brands. Likely the proprietary federal wad whereas the others likely all use the BP Max 410 wad which I find almost ALWAYS responds to choke better.
@@hauntedoutdoors also there are A LOT more pellets in a load of 9.5 shot than 9s. Hard to make a true comparison with so many more pellets in 3 of the 4 loads. 🤷♂️
@@mightyjoeyoung1390 Thats fair! But to be honest, a couple weeks ago I shot winchester Double X 7.5 shot from the same set up and it patterned better than the Federal TSS 9's. Could just be the gun!
Oh definitely! This was just to show the capabilities of the stock choke. I upgraded to an Indian Creek choke before taking it to the woods. Thanks for watching! -Jordan
That should always be the case with any ammunition used to take game! Practice and experimenting is the responsible thing to do before using that specific ammunition to take wild game. Thanks for watching!
@@hauntedoutdoors I know. I look at myself too and see how much I spend on practicing and reloading than hunting. Let me see, Practice: 25 rounds. Hunting: 1. Ammo makers love us.

if you do this again we want in on the test!
You did a great job, one of the best I've seen
Great job Jordan!
Thanks for watching, Chris!
I tried federal and fiocchi, both were amazing at 50 yards. My stevens is going in the woods with me this year for sure
Its one heck of a gun! We just posted a video of a 4 year old knocking down a tom using the .410!
Thanks for watching!
@@hauntedoutdoors I'm happy to have it for the long walks and my girls will like it I think
Thank you for a unbiased review. Such a valuable review, with applicable test A+ new sub here 👍
We're glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for watching!
Thanks for using your stock choke, very helpful.
Could you tell me what your aiming point was on the target?.
Super-helpful and much appreciated. Clear and systematic. Thanks!
Thanks Erik!
I tried several chokes and a couple loads in mine. I decided on Wilson’s custom loads #10 tss.

We've heard and seen the same mixed results as well! Thank you for watching!
Try using a bigger backer I was against as well but it’s key! Idk how much to plan on testing turkey loads but it’ll help future vids!
Definitely. That's a great idea! Thanks for watching!

Hi! is your vortex sight on the factory supplied rail?
Yes it is!

Federal 9 shot try a Carlson tss choke
Ninja or foxtrot 9.5 shot indian creek. 385. Or pattern master choke.
To me the apex tss looks the best

thank you for shooting a turkey where you are supposed to! THE NECK!

The foxtrot pattern was a little patchy, probably a little overcooked . The ninja looked the most even.

Foxtrot ammo is awesome, I shoot them from my 28 gauge, Cherry bombs!!!

383 choke looks about right.
If you upgrade your chock you will see a much better pattern and increased confidence at 40+ yards.

What choke is this?
The choke that comes with the gun!
Thanks so your shooting the apex ninja 9.5
You made a good video. But is also demo straights what I have concluded about ammo. Most Turkey ammo is shot at targets and not at Turkeys.
